  1. Thanks. I have it on top of the fridge and every time I walk by I look up there and say "damn, that looks good." Haha
  2. Found a FDE Gen 3 19. I was originally looking for a gen 4 but the smoother grips on the 3 feel better to me. Bought an extended slide release and an extra mag, came home and put 150 through it. Shot very well. About 2-3" 10:00 from 15 or so yards but plan to put some TFO sights on in a few weeks anyway. Cleaned it up and loaded up some 124 grain HST and is now in carry rotation.
  3. That's why I carry a double barrel gold plated S&W .500 with poison bullets.
  4. Tried to fix some grammatical errors above after I posted but tapatalk is being difficult.
  5. If the children are young enough and were willing I would put their bed in your room or a metress on the floor for when it is just you and the kids. That way you can all be in the same room if something were to happen. Then just sit tight with your weapon at the ready while the children get under the bed or in a closet. If you don't have problems with the kids getting up in the night and roaming the house a simple $20 battery opperated motion detector in the main part of your house works well. Or a dog... I like to think preventive measures too. And another thing, I don't know your husbands means of travel but if possible leave his vehicle oitside or borrow a spare from a relative and park it outside to look as if there are multiple people home. Out of the two guns you listed the Glock id definitely better for home defense in my opinion as long as you can rack the slide. And as mentioned above, a good light and maybe even a 33 round mag for your 17.
  6. Welcome from Columbia/Lewisburg
  7. I ised to have one. I miss it. Wasn't super accurate but for the $150 I had in it, no complaints. I even used it once to finish up a coyote that I had a bad shot on with the rifle. I got a lot of shooting from the hip practice with it before .22 turned into gold bricks...
  8. I have been hung on Evan Williams honey for the last several weeks.
  9. I drive a truck and see it all day long every day.
  10. I don't drink often but when I do it's Whisper Creek. I found a new favorite last night that I've been working on. Evan williams Honey reserve. It's a 70 proof with a good smooth honey taste. I've been giving my shot glass a workout tonight. Just enough to stay warm : p
  11. I grew up on dirtbikes and when I was around 18 a buddy of mine brought his Honda 300 4-wheeler 4x4 over to our land. We were out just riding close to the house one weekend and I showed him a big dirt hill where 4x4's went and climbed. I did it on my bike all the time (Suzuki RM 250) but he had more or less just "farm riding" experience and a 4 wheeler is a lot different but anyways we lined up to go up the hill. He wanted to go first so I lined up behind him. He was just gonna climb it and go over the top and I was gonna go up with some speed to get a little air. He got 95% to the top and his front tires were almost over and he did have the correct riding stance but it was too much for the 4 wheeler. He began to come over backwards and he did a complete backwards roll with the atv on top of him. I thought I was watchimg my friend die in front of me. He landed on his back in a mud puddle at the bottom of the hill with the atv still perfectly on top of him. His face was submerged in the water. All I remember was dropping my running bike and running uver to him. I remember throwing the atv off of him in a "hulk like" manner. I have always heard of people using all of their strength in a situation with adrenaline pumping but the atv at the time felt like me simply throwing a bag of dog food. He didn't break any bones but was very sore for days. He was very lucky that day.
  12. Tonight's show seemed to get off to a slow start for the new season but I know it will get better.
  13. Just glad his key fob worked...
  14. I am a Federal guy myself. I carry 180 grain HST in my .40 and 124 HST +p in my glock 19
  15. I'll have to go with Pulp Fiction. Edit* I forgot about Django! Bad ass!
  16. [quote name="itchytriggerfinger" post="1037970" timestamp="1379981773"]At least he's holding that "firearm" correctly. Ha! That's what I thought. Pretty good form. Even for a lefty..
  17. I will be driving to Vegas October 4th. I drive a truck usually doing short north and south trips from Michigan to Alabama but the last few years my fiance takes a week off and I request a longer trip. 3rd yeats in a row to Vegas. I've been several times during my driving career. She loves it. We will leave Thursday afyernoon and get there early Saturday afternoon. Usually a little sooner because I still use paper logs lol. Spend 3 days there then go down to San Diego and pick up a good light load of hot tubs and bring back to Spring Hill. I'd love to do it on a bike someday. Ya'll have fun.
  18. Ya'll have me intrigued now. I may get it from he later today and do a little more research and take some more pics. Thank you. I knew ya'll would know how to get the ball rolling. I said he would never sell it but if it turned out to be worth a few hundred he may. It's not sentimental or passed down. He just bought it one day about 25 years ago.
  19. This is about the only dates I could find.
  20. It isn't very big. I should have put my gp100 next to the pic for scale.
  21. I didn't look inside the frame. I have since left his house and got back home. But as far as comparing it in pictures I believe too it is a 10. I figured it was a common gun. It is in pretty good shape. I had forgotten about it. I was showing my father some polishing I had done on a recently aquired gp100 and we got on the topic of his old wheelgun and went and got it out. I will be in the market soon for some .38 special ammo so him and I can go out and have a father and son day shooting.
  22. My dad has an old S&W .38 special. It says "CTG" on the barrel. I'm not even sure of the model. Mabel a 10? From the serial # (S 888341) as far as I can see it is a 1952. Does anyone know a little info on this gun and is it even somewhat collectable and what the ballpark worth is? He would never sell it but just curious. Been tucked in his closet for years. Thanks for any info.
  23. I'm gonna go get it back out of the safe and check it out. Thanks yall
