Hello from New York (Long Island)
glowdotGlock replied to ChiefSailer's topic in New Member Introductions
Welcome. I drive a truck and used to go out on Long Island every few weeks. To Riverhead. I can see why you would want to move. Hope you make your way down. -
I'm going with possum. I see the tail and pointed snout.

I am getting the rifle next week and gonna spend a few dollars on some Magpul furniture and then gonna put back the spare parts.

.22 shortage, according to Win. rep

I have a pretty decent stash of .223. I am looking for another AR since I sold my RRA Lar15 Operator last year. I have my mind set on the RRA Car A4 with the quad rail. It is 16" Chrome Moly 1:9 barrel. I am not a huge prepper but I do like to stock up when I can. I believe in redundancy and the saying "2 is 1 and 1 is none." With that being said, I don't have the funds for two rifles at the moment but do want to buy common replacement parts for the one. I want all the parts I would ever need to replace on the rifle to ensure I can run thousands and thousands of rounds through it, bolt, springs, pins etc. If the SHTF there won't be any ordering from the internet. What are the most common and not so common parts I would need to start buying? Sorry if this has been discused before but I couldn't find it using tapatalk.
Wish you could have shown him the photo of the ammo bitches in wal mart, explained how they operate and asked him if he can do a group sale to a TGO vendor ... Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk 2 of course it ate my spelling.
I like this! I would be in for 200 -300 dollars worth. -
I like. I just scored in 2,100 rounds of .22 today. That brings me up to around 9500.

Sinkhole swallows Corvettes in Bowling Green!
glowdotGlock replied to glowdotGlock's topic in General Chat
I drove by there yesterday on 65 like I do every week. It felt wierd looking over at the big red spike and knowing what was at the bottom of it. A couple cars were parked on the shoulder getting a pic. -

I wonder too if some of the cars that aren't "too" bad like the blue one you see sitting upright if after being repaired might make them worth a little more actually... 1 of the 8 famous sinkhole cars. :p -

They said on the news they were going to fill it back in...? I don't see that as being very practical or safe. -

I wonder what they will do. They will have to build another museum elsewhere. Can't just fill it in. If they do though they could fill it in with ol' Mustangs and Camaros... -

If you look at corvettemuseum's youtube profile there is footage the cars actually falling in and an rc heli going down in the hole. -
My girfriend just sent me this. Wow. http://www.cnn.com/2014/02/12/us/national-corvette-museum-cars-fall/

Picked up a couple new long guns today.

I just got off the phone with remington. She said it was a 1977. And your friend is right about the nickel plating starting in 92. She said that it is probably not an original coating. I am leaning towards it is original. I would like to find out some more about it. -

Also put in a little time with the 15-22 this morning. I had forgotten how much fun this gun is. -

It's rough as hell but I've fell in love with it. It's good to have a couple of ol' guns in the collection that you just don't care if you beet them up a little. Gonna see a lot of time on duty around the campsite and on the rack on the 4 wheeler this summer. I wanted to put some sort of shell holder on it because I don't wanna extend the tube. I like the way it looks but didn't want to mount one on the side of the reciever. So what I did was take the plastic shell holder of of the metal back of a side saddle that had been stripped and just mounted the plastic on the butt stock. Don't look too bad. -
I like the Wingmaster as well. You should Duracoat that one tan as well so it can hang out with all the cool kids.
I actually thought I may try it. It would look good. The duracoat site claims it will work on just about any surface. I assume it is stainless, maybe nickel? -
Both nice but I really really dig the old Wingmaster. - OS
I do too! I am kinda glad it is all beat to hell so I won't pout when I scratch it up this summer when camping. :p -
I decided to put a portion of my tax return back into the economy via my LGS. I have been wanting another M&P 15-22 since my dumb ass let my "1st gen" 15-22 go a few years ago. I accidentally stocked up on .22 long before the shortage. I have upwards of 7,000 rounds (sorry, none for sale) so I have been holding out for another M&P. I just ordered some duracoat in coyote tan for a weekend project. I also found an older 870 Wingmaster 12 guage. I have been wanting an old quality "beater" for a while. I have tried to date it and it said either 1994 or 1970 I think. I think it may be the latter. It has a bit of cosmetic wear but is smooth as silk. I don't mind saying, I gave $250 for the 20" wingmaster. I put around 40 rounds of ol' cheap 7 1/2 shot through it this evening and some Hornady buckshot. Ran very smooth. Just thought I'd share. BTW, any help dating the 870 would be appreciated. Barrel stamped "CO". Serial on the receiver reads: T685xxx V.

What would someone use on a polymer AR that doesn't get hot like a .223/.556?
-
I just bought me another M&P 15-22 and wanna play with it a little. Is there anywhere in Columbia that may have duracoat or something similar that would work?

Hello! I don't know much about Dandridge but I do stop by there to fuel my truck up at the Love's every so often.
