  1. And they had one of the biggest horses I have ever seen. I can remember what is was as I'm not a horse guy but he is 18.5 hands and 2,400 pounds.
  2. Here is a pic of the camel. It threw me off to see a camel as I pulled up :)
  3. Well folks, I went and got my Colt back this morning. I must say it was a nice place. It is in Pulaski on a 35 acre farm. Very nice man and woman. It seemed to me to be on the up and up. I didn't even want to leave lol. They had a big nice cabin and a barn and a couple ponds. He was taken good care of. They actually have there a camel. Yep, an 8 foot tall camel that Colt had befriended in his last few months there. I am glad I got him back. They actually didn't even ask for a fee but I went ahead and donated generously. He is back home doing well. We are sitting outside by the fire as I type. I am going to get him chipped next week when I take the smaller dog in for her second rounds of shots. Glad he is home.
  4. I drive a truck through the week and SiriusXM is my best friend. I mostly listen to talk/news and 70's on 7. I listen to Howard in the morning (when he's on...) Then at 2 I listen 2 Jay Thomas. Some of you may remember him. He's a C-lister that has been on radio for years. He's had several smaller acting rolls over the last few decades. He likes to rattle people and his callers rattle him. I call in 2 or 3 times a month. It's really a good show. If you have Sirius you can listen Mon-Thurs 2-5 central on 102 Indie and Fridays on Howard 101. I haven't missed a show in 4 years. Anybody else listen?
  5. I'm listening to Jay Thomas on SiriusXM.
  6. Hey I know Marshall! I went to school with him when he and his dad lived in Lewisburg. I haven't seen him in years besides on facebook. It is sad what happened. He was a great friend of mine. I used to go hang out with him at his grandmother's house in Lewisburg where he lived. We used to get a couple girls over there and have a time lol. I can't recall his dad's name but he was nice. He worked as a mortician at a funeral home in town. I remember he came to pick Marshall and I up one day in a suburbabn with a body in the back and I was a little weirded out, but we were teens back then and kinda enjoyed the "creepy" factor.
  7. I haven't read all 200+ posts here so if this is a repeat, sorry. Go get your tin foil first. One of the videos shows a man in plain clothes just inches from an ebola victim and a hazmat crew. http://www.spiritscienceandmetaphysics.com/ebo-lie-man-living-in-ghana-confirms-ebola-is-a-hoax/
  8. I agree if you life in a more populated area. I live on a dead end country road. It's the only place I've ever lived. I've had a few dogs over my years but have never owned a pen or had one tied up. I am surounded by 320 acres of family and friend's land. I have full access to it all. There are ponds, barns and all kinds of fun stuff. There are less than 15 houses on my road and he is like a "celebrity" on our road. There are a few neighborhood dogs that get together and play. The guy called him up from one of the fields he was ok to be in. It's all Colt's land too. I live next door to my parents and around the perimeter of our properties there is literally a path of brown grass where he walks around our houses. It is weird but I have come outside at 2 or 3 am before to see him "doing his rounds" around the property like a guard in a prison lol
  9. My fiancee had them about 2 months ago. She woke up one morning and had an itchy red spot on her back. It was right where her bra hooked together so she thought it may be from that but it got a little worse so she went to the doc and found out is was shingles. It got better in a week or so.
  10. If it weren't for a stranger on Facebook I wouldn't have.
  11. Here's my buddy. Been 6+ months. He's gonna have a big burger and a bonfire waiting on him Saturday night.
  12. How much does the microchip cost on average? My previous lab that died at 15 had one but the owner before had it put in.
  13. Thanks guys. I was wanting to see what the consensus was and it mostly seems to be pay the fee. That is what I will do.
  14. It is $80 which isn't much. It was just the point. The land they say he was walking off of is family farm land. Not my family but neighbors and friends. He is also somewhat of a "celebrity" in my neighborhood. I can see how a stranger wouldn't know that. I will most likely pay and just call it a reward and shake hands and be on my way. I let him sleep in the kitchen on cool or rainy nights but any other time he is free to roam around our woods and land. I don't like to pen one up or put them on a chain.
  15. I see what ypu are saying too but he found him and took him to another county.
  16. And he may not even ask for a fee since he's mine but the website shows a rehoming fee for him.
  17. I'm a former LEO but in a different county so I know how to deal with people and the public. I have done a little research on the place with not much to be found. Says it's a farm environment. I'm not going to do any negotiating until he is in my sight in my fiance's possession.
  18. I would think too that a rescue organization would check the lost pets sites and whatnot. I flooded the internet with ads for weeks after he went missing. With very thurough ads.
  19. That is what I was thinking. I am going to have my phone camera recording in my front pocket.
  20. I was almost certain he did have his tag on. The other collar that he uses did not have it on it so I assumed it was but he said there wasn't a tag. I am glad he's fine but he went out wandering every day. He was at home. I kinda feel like I was robbed of a summer with my fishing buddy but that is ok as long as he is fine. I may see if thr guy will take half of his fee. I won't get confrontational because that's just not me but I am not adopting him, just taking him back home. He seems like a decent guy on the phone and if I see what kind of place it is and that it is on the up and up and clean then in all honesty I will probably just pay in entirety but if the place strikes me as a "junkyard for dogs" then I will do a little negotiating and see what I can find out about them.
  21. My male lab came up missing back in April (on Mule Day weekeend for the Maury Co. folks) and since then I have put numerous posts on different Facebook sites and many on Craigslist. The last one I posted was about 3 or 4 weeks ago as I have just about given up. Well Tuesday night I have a guy comment that a dog they just looked at adopting looks like mine I have posted. He sends me a link and sure enough, it's him. So I contact the rescue and we confirm it's my dog. I told him I drive a truck and wouldn't be home til' Friday and he said Sat morning is ok. Then I ask where he found him. He got specific and turns out it was less than 800 feet from my rural home. I asked how long he had had him and he said several months. Since about April. The whole time. He has a "re'homing" fee which at first I was more than happy to pay but the more I thought about it my dog was where he was supposed to be. He wasn't 20 miles from home or something. If he wouldn't have gotten picked up he would've just wandered back home like usual. I am very greatful he is still alive and ok but I don't like what happened at all. And the "rescue" he is at is over 20 miles from me. So he got my dog a few hundred feet from my home, takes hime 20+ miles away and puts him up for "sale/fee". Like I said I am ecstatic he is ok and look forward to Saturday but am I entitled to go get him without the fee? (As in not pay to get my dog back) I won't useany names here but the rescue place is not a county/city or public entity. It's a private one. Seems fishy to me.
  22. I use Weatherbug Elite. It was a couple dollars. No adds and is super fast to load and refresh.
  23. Looks like it is coming in close to our friends in the west. Figured I'd start a thread since some parts of the state will likely have damage. I get most of my news from here anyway ha. Maybe we can keep it bumped up near the top so it won't get lost. Stay safe friends.
