This is what I am thinking. I might do it once or twice for some people I know of and see how it goes. I am not the one to rip people off but these lots provide a service for the "credit challenged". I have never bought a vehicle that way but there is some money in it.

This goes along with my other post of self employment. I have bought and sold several used cars and trucks over the years to make a few bucks but I am wondering how I would go about financing to someone. How to cover my ass as much as possible. Let's say I purchase a $3,000 car and sell it to someone. I would take $800 down and then let them make payments at let's say $75 per week for 60 weeks (14 months). That would put me at about $2,300 in profit over the term of the loan. I would offer a small incentive for early payoff. But I am wondering is it legal for me to even do this not being a business. To have 3 or 4 vehicles out at one time. And if I am able to do it how could I cover myself as far as loss? If they were to default what would my rights be pertaining to going and retrieving the vehicle?

The actual entrance to the road is close to I-65 but the actual site where I would build the pond is probably .30 miles from the big road. There is low traffic noise except for in the winter when the foliage is down but that would be the slow season anyway. I know both of these I will probably never do but I do daydream about it.
-
The other idea I have been daydreaming about is a hospitality business. I have land about 600 feet from I-65 in Maury county that is zoned commercial. It was bought from a larger parcel of land that had a business on it and I am lead to believe it still carries the "commercial" status but I am not sure. Nevertheless, I wanted to dig about a 1.5 acres lake/pond which I have the equipment available for and around the lake build about 5 small "cabins". Really just small 12x20 type dutch storage buildings that are insulated and wired like a house and rent them by the night. People could camp around the lake and fish and grill and just relax. I have a great location but always wondered if it would go over well. Maybe start with 3 buildings and add a couple more. I pretty much have the prototype building in my backyard. It has pine wood interior walls with A/C and vinyl windows and a bed in the small loft. I can build each one in about 3 weeks at a cost of around $5,500 a piece. I think that would be neat.

I haven't put anything in the works yet but just wanted to get some opinions. I would love to lease a mini ex and do work myself. I have ran equipment my whole life and I'm not bad but just knowing how to operate doesn't make me a good business owner though. I don't know how to bid jobs and all the codes and whatnot.

I will definitely have some dough put back to cover unforseen expenses. I don't see it being too high being one machine at first. And if I just have a bad month the lease is 500 a month so nothing that will plunge me into poverty. My fiance has a background in keeping books and clerical work once I get things rolling. I have another idea and will post it and see what yall think after I eat here in a bit.

I have worked for the "man" and the man has been pretty good to me but the last few years I have really wanted to start a small business. I drive a truck and absolutely hate to be gone from home 4-5 days a week. I have a couple ideas and have thought them out (I think). I used to work for a rental company in Columbia as a driver. I hauled backhoes, dozers, etc on a lowboy to customers. He has a hell of a business and still does. One idea I have pondered about running on the side at first is a small rental company. Very small at first. I am thinking about leasing a skid steer from John Deere and renting it out. This particular company I worked for does the same. The last I checked he rented skid steers (bobcats to most) for around $140 per day and $550 for 7 days. He had around 12 leased pieced and they stayed out all year round. I can lease a new one for around 4-500 per month and rent it for $100 a day or so and just haul it with equipment I already own for an extra fee. Even if it only rents 15 days a month it would still be a nice little profit and could expect more in the summer. Then maybe later on add a mini excavator to my lineup. I wouldn't want it to get too big, maybe 3 or 4 pieces. Couple skid steers, mini ex and a backhoe. And with the equipment being leased I am just responsible for routine maintenance like oil and filters. If there are any major breakdowns I know John Deere will bring you a replacement during repairs. I would have to do some research as to the business end such as taxes and permits and so on but I feel the need to go out on my own but just on the side as first. I admire small business owners and respect what they do and I hope to be one soon. I know there is a lot of hidden things involved most don't think of but I would like to think I could endure them so I could be my own boss and be home with my family. I am not looking to be rich. Honestly I can do good on $700-$1200 per week. I have another idea but the equipment rental seems more practical. I know some of you are small business owners. Does it sound like I am in dream land or maybe have a shot?

Same here. I am a Glock man through and through but just recently bought a Shield 9 and am very impressed with it but if Glock made a comparable size pistol I woukd be all over it. Just not as fast though since the Shield has filled my pocket carry/deep concealment needs.
-
I usually have 4 or 5 of the below items on me at all times when out and about. My main carry is a Gen 3 19 in an IWB holster with a Gerber knife with an led light. And of course my G-Shock and a loupe I just have a habit of carrying. You never know when you need to see something up close. My alternate carry (less carried) include my Shield 9 and a 5.11 light and a ka - bar behind the holster knife. And a spare mag to whichever piece I am carrying. I mostly wear this reversable black/tan 5.11 belt which I love.

That is awesome. He said they had to cut his cornea and flip it back and all that. Gives me the creeps. If it is just a laser and no cutting involved I can do that!

I would wanna be knocked out or something too. I have no problem with putting MY finger in my eye but someone else or a machine is a different story.
-
I had considered Lasik but a friend of mine had it done a couple years ago and he had to put in drops every 15 mins for a week after the procedure and every hour for the next 2 weeks. It looked like a pain. I drive a truck and can't stop every 15 mins. Maybe that has changed though. I would might do it if there weren't 3 weeks of constant eye drops.

I hadn't been to an optometrist in a few years til last week. I was interested in contacts and I found out that I was a good candidate. I had noticed the last few times I had gotten my DOT physical for my CDL that my vision was slightly worsening each time. I went and had an exam and I wasn't horrible but she said I could wear contacts or glasses full time or just when I want. They had a trial pair so I put them in and what a difference. I went ahead and got fitted for glasses for those lazy days when I don't want to bother with contacts or have allegies, etc. The night I got home with them I found myself in the bedroom drawing my EDC 19 over and over and getting a quick sight picture. It is so much clearer. I should have done this years ago. I have a slight astigmatism in one eye that causes me to see a haze around lights. I especially notice it when looking at the blue LED on the front of my DirecTv reciever. They pretty much took care of that too. I am good at putting them in but still takes me a little bit to get them out. I am getting faster though. How many of yall have them and got any good stories....

I put them on this morning. Gonna go run this beast when the rain quits. I like them so far for quick Aquisition but will see how they do live. Send ammo or the bear gets it!!!

Merry Christmas everyone. I'm getting loaded in Mississippi then heading home tonight for 5 days off then another 3. Mach needed.
-
Well, of course Home Alone. And I also like "Christmas with the Kranks" with Tim Allen and Jamie Lee Curtis.
-
I use one in my truck when I'm on the road since my TV at home is a smart TV. They are simple to use. I watch 10-15 movies a month on average and consume maybe around 40 gigs, sometimes more.

Sounds the same. She said it originally shipped UPS then went to the post office.

Just found it! Just out of curiosity we got out and drove past the other house with the same adress a mile away and sure enough their flag was up. We saw a car in their driveway idling so we stopped and I went up and asked and sure enough she said yep there is something in there that wasn't mine so we all walked over and looked and it was it. Thankful it turned out ok. I am still gonna call the PO and report this because it happens way too often. We return mail to them all the time but have never met those neighbors but I feel good in knowing that they know who we are now. She said if it happened again she would just deliver it to us and I said likewise for her.

2 NYPD officers shot, killed in ambush on cop car

This is the post on instagram that the @$$hole posted. -
I'd just get Norm to ask him

I am hoping it is just an error on the driver's part. He has been known to deliver wrong mail here more than once. I think I would be better off with Cliff Claven.

She is a little upset which is understandable. She says she wishes she would have used Amazon. I know Midway is a good company and have ordered from them before and I know they are not at fault at all since USPS said they were delivered. I have heard you can get in touch with the shipper so they can "investigate". Midway woukd probably replace them but I would feel guilty letting them do so since they did their job. I just hope they find their way here.

I had mentioned to my fiance a week or 2 ago I was considering some XS Big Dots for my new Shield. Unbeknownst to me she placed an order for them on the 15th. Well today she got a confirmation that they had been delivered by USPS and were left in our box. She checked it and got the regular bills and junk but there was no package. She called USPS customer service and they just told her it was delivered between 12 and 3 today. I am wondering if anyone stole them...? She said she ordered them from Midway. I am just wondering what would happen in this case. Would USPS be liable? Will I ever see my sights? I am hoping the similar adress a few roads over received them and put them back in their box to be sent to me. I would go check with them but it is obviously too late tonight. Anyone ever been in this situation?
