  1. My wife and I were third and forth in line at the DMV last tuesday morning here in Chattanooga. It STILL took an hour and half to get through. Apparently they had a computer malfunction the day before so everyone who was waiting the day before and didn't get to go through got a free pass the next morning. I was ok with it till people showed up an hour after the DMV opened and were getting to go ahead of everyone else. Oh well, its done and hopefully wont have to go back for a long time.
  2. Yea, I got mine almost a month ago. I have put 70 rounds through it without a problem. I did clean it really well before I shot it. I was hitting 12x12 targets over 15 yards away without any problem! Very impressed!
  3. Have you had a guide rod to break your kel tecs?

    New Addition

Vaiger, Yes, it is hard chrome. Its just a cell phone picture. I figured the hard chrome finish would hold up best in and out of my pocket. I dig the pinky extension but I'm just worried about it defeating the purpose of a pocket gun.

    New Addition

It has been a few years since I have bought a brand new gun. I have fondled and oogled over this guy for several months now. I finally adopted him on Monday. Hope to take it out Sunday and give it a work out. Special thanks to Steve Silvers at Silvers Firearms in Old Fort Tn. He has a great selection and best prices within 50 miles of Chattanooga!! What have you guys done to customize your P3AT?
  6. I have a Smith and Wesson Sigma 9mm. It was my first handgun and I probably will never get rid of it. I bought it over 4 years ago for $315 and now they can be had at academy on the right week for $279(before taxs and background). A lot of people dog it or make fun of it but it is a fun little gun. Yea you could spend twice as much and buy a Sig and have a really nice trigger pull, but to just target shot, the Sigma is great. My wife loves to shoot it. I shoot really cheap tulammo from walmart for $9.49 for a box of 50. Academy runs specials on Monarch steel 9mm rounds for $7.99 and my Sigma eats them all day. I have had at least 1000 rounds of mostly dirty ammo through my sigma and it runs like a champ. Clean it well and it will serve you good. I shoot at Prentice Cooper most of the time. If you are around I wouldn't mind letting you shoot it. Sportsmans Warehouse on 153 has more guns than just about any store around. They run a little higher though. Academy has a decent selection but the people behind the counter are dicks sometimes. Shooters Depot is good place to go, they really know their guns, the last time I was in there though, the guy realllllllllllly pushed Glocks on me even when I told him that I was NOT interested. I would buy a gun from them and they could probably come close to the prices at academy so I would recommend supporting them over the 'big box gun stores'. Hope that helps
  7. Congratulations!!! Greatest feeling in the world!! Daddys little girl!!! Mine turns 3 in 2 months =(
  8. I see this too!! I walk into sportmans because the have a larger selection than most of the other stores around here, however, it seems they are a little higher on everything as well. Lots of window shoppers but seldom any buyers
  9. J and M Pawn brokers. It across the street from the main part of Capital Toyota. They close at like 5 in the afternoons I think. I went by on a tuesday and it was 4:30 and he was putting the last 3 guns in the case. Lucky one of them was the kel tec I wanted to fondle. Just fyi, he packs up shop early
  10. There is a pawn shop across from Capital Toyota on Brainerd Road (actually I think its Lee Highway at that point). Forgot the name of it but they had around 40 or 50 handguns when I went in there a couple of months ago. There is another pawn shop on Hwy 153. If you are coming from hamilton place mall going into hixson on 153, it is on your right after you come over the damn. Not sure what its called either but they had about 20 or 30 handguns. Thats all I know of and have been too. I have heard Silvers in cleveland is good and so is benton shooters.

    Bulk ammo

Last week, Academy Sports and Outdoors here in Chattanooga had a 50 round box of 9mm ammo on sale for 7.99. I run it through my smith and wesson with no problems all day long. They run a sale every couple of months but regular price is only 9.99 for 50. The brand is Monarch. Not sure where its from and it is it steel casings but I fired at least 8 boxes (400 rounds) and never had any problems.
  12. I lived in Hixson for 18 years and had no idea there was a range off boyscout.
  13. Very Interesting!! My father in law played cowboys and indians with it when he was a little boy. It is sentimentally worth way more than money but he was curious as to its origins. Thank you very much guys!!!
  14. Oh yea. Don't care about the value, not for sale
  15. Other Pictures [/img] [/img]
  16. Hey everybody, Sorry for the terrible looking pictures. I couldn't get any close-ups on the markings. All I know is that my father-in-laws grandfather owned this pistol. On the top of the gun on one side it says "Mexicain" and on the other side it says "Central Fire". Just below the cylinder it says Cal .380 but he says he has put .38s through it. The picture I drew there is my best rendition of the markings. The R with the crown is on the side by the cylinder and the N with the star over it is right below it. If you look at the back of the cylinder, there is a ELC in a circle with the crown above it. We have no clue of the history of the gun. It fires but after you pull the trigger, you have to manually push the trigger back to reset it. Maybe its missing a spring? Anyway, just wondering if anybody has seen one of these before. Thanks in advance! [/img] [/img]
  17. Hey guys. I have a gun my father in law owns. There are only a few markings on it. I want to post some pictures of it to see if anybody can tell us anything about it. It is a pistol. Is it ok to post in the handgun section or should it be in a different section? We are not trying to sell it. It was his grandfathers and he just wants some information. Thanks.
  18. So Corker and Alexander both voted yea.
  19. I went a couple of months ago to the Shiners gun show. First one I have ever been to and probably my last. Prices were sky high. A lot of the venders were very anxious to make a sell. Overly anxious. Also, it should have been called a knife show with a few guns. For every gun that was for sale were about 200 knives.

    3rd Shift

Hey guys, Starting a new job in a few weeks. The main reason is so my wife can quit work and stay home with the kiddo. I will be making considerable more money. Unfortunately I will be working 3rd shift for the next forseeable future . Anybody else work 3rd shift with kids? How do you keep the sanity? I worked 3rd when I was in college but didn't have a family or really any responsibilities at all. Thanks
