    Garand pr0n!

BTW, that is called leet speak (as in Elite or L33T), which is where you'll see many words such as pwn, noob, l33t, and pr0n (etc.). This is the interwebs, start getting used to it now.
  2. +1 for that. As my previous post mentioned, I inherited a Khar PM40 from my grandfather when he died. It was brand new in the box. I took it out to the range and put about 50 rounds through it. I then cleaned it, put it back in the box, and traded it for my new SR9c. It was so hard to control, the mag capacity was very limited, and frankly it wasn't fun to shoot. I know there's always the argument that the "fun" part doesn't really come into play when talking about self defense, but it wasn't fun to shoot because it was hard to be acurate with it, and acuracy IS important when it comes to self defense. The fun part comes in because the vast majority of us will never have to shoot anyone (hopefully), and that means that the rest of the time I'm trying to enjoy shooting at the range, it's not going to be very fun. Just something to consider.
  3. I also have an SR9c and absolutely love it. I've put about 500 rounds through it (I've only had it for about a month) and even during the "break in" period it never malfunctioned. Something else you might consider is that Ruger is releasing the LC9 soon. It's a little bit larger than the LCP and has a normal 3 dot sight system rather than the valley sights on the LCP. The larger caliber never hurts in a self defence scenario either. But overall I have to agree, for how much cheaper the SR9c is compared to a Glock or Khar (by the way, I TRADED in a Khar PM40 to get my SR9c) it's almost a no-brainer.

I'll try to fix the security thing, first time i've linked video from FB, wasn't expecting that. Sorry for the technical difficulties folks!

Here are a couple of videos practicing the "punch out" from the draw, acquiring proper sight picture and focusing on the front sight. I short load my mags for speed reload practice.

Yeah I'd have to agree. I've put several brands of budget ammo through it without a hiccup.

I love Walthers. Their grips just work with my hands really well, and they're awesome looking guns IMO. I'd love to pick one up at some point.

    I know Uselton's in Franklin makes 1911's.

I'm hoping that they make an SR40c. I'd be on that in a heartbeat. I've been reading rumors that they might release one in quarter 1 of this year. I'm keeping my fingers crossed...

The first day I took this out to the range, I shot a Kimber 1911, two XD's, 2 Glocks (a 26 and a 19 I believe), and I had the tightest group with my new SR9c at any distance over those guns. Now I know it's all about the feel of the gun and getting used to it, so by no means am I saying that one is more accurate over the other, but for the money I'm thrilled with this Ruger. I will admit, the slide is pretty gnarly at first. I kept it stored with the slide locked in the rear position for the first couple weeks to try to break that spring in and that seemed to help a lot. I'm looking at getting my carry permit this year. I'd love to hear feedback on how "comfortable" (if there is such a thing) this gun carries. Thanks for the feedback everyone!

Since I've got this hunch that gun porn is welcome in these parts, thought i'd post a few pics of my new SR9C
  12. Thanks! Looking forward to sharing and soaking up info and opinions!
  13. Hey everyone, my name is Casey and I just registered with the site today after hearing about it from a good friend and range buddy. I live in Franklin, TN and I generally shoot at Charles Haffner Memorial Range in the Spring Hill area. I currently own 4 guns. My newest is a Ruger SR9C (which I'm thrilled with). I also own a Ruger P89 (it's for sale ), a Mossberg 20 gauge pump shotgun and a Marlin 22 rifle. My primary focus is becoming a better defense shooter.
