  1. Just get a holster for a 4 inch N frame.Unless you think your barrel will feel inadequate about not measuring up.
  2. Justice sometimes rides a slow horse but she is steady.
  3. And now ya'll are on the the fact that the Winchester 1200 is the fastest pump gun around.Benelli who?
  4. First of all it is a 4 inch barrel, you measure all the way to the face of the cylinder.Second it looks to be in pretty good shape but the grips are not factory so I say around oh....$650.
  5. Unless you are a dealer or have a business license you cannot buy from Natchez/Chattanooga Shooters Supply if you live in TN,GA,or AL.

    Ruger P90

Have someone else shoot the gun.If they hit low it is the gun,if they are dead on you are flinching.
  7. It is within a week or two of the second meeting. It may take a little longer this month as all members get a new gate pass at the first of the year.
  8. Congrats. I lost right at 100 lbs several years back.I did it by cutting out fried foods and sweets and eating lots of fruit, veggies and white meat.I also walked for an hour a day.Sadly I have gained back about half what I lost.I said I never would but time and circumstances (I quit dipping) creep up on you.I still do the walking daily but I need to get back to the strict diet.Stick with it.
  9. Don't worry Spuds you will get your gate pass soon after the next meeting.

    Gun pointing at shops

I find that a simple "Hey Man,watch that muzzle" along with a stern look goes a long way.I have had numerous guns pointed at me in stores and gun shows and while making me a little uneasy that is nothing like ROing some newbie at a match and having them sweep you with a loaded gun or have an AD right next to you.
  11. About 25 years ago I saw a guy wearing cowboy boots on a ladder. The ladder slipped and the guy dropped about 8 feet and landed feet first. He broke the heel bone in both feet and was out of work for 2 months.I have not worn cowboy boots since.
  12. Well I would say work as much as I can but that depends on the *******ed economy so I will say that I am going to try to be the kind of person my dog thinks I am.
  13. Relaxed atmosphere, cheaper buy in to play the game come to mind for me.Also most IDPA clubs are friendly to new shooters, one thing I noticed up at Oak Ridge shooting IPSC was that if you were an "out of towner" people never really warmed up to you.One pal of mine who shot up there since the club was over by Bull Run steam plant said the same thing. On the other hand I have shot regular club matches at North Tn in Dickson and they went out of their way to make you feel welcome, just saying.

1911forum has classifieds but you cannot post firearms for sale there.
  15. I HAVE NOT SEEN THIS MOVIE BUT,I heard they actually played sheep herders in it not cowboys. However it kind of makes you wonder what the cowboy movies were referring to when they called somebody their "pardner":tinfoil:
  16. The last time I shot the IDPA Classifier I came within 2 seconds of making SSP Master.I am/was a low (48%) C class Production shooter.
  17. Hmm,ya'll were down? I went to Panama City for Christmas and got back late last night.I was out of touch for a few days.
  18. I thought you had to shoot the targets in tactical sequence (as you see them emerging from cover) or tactical priority ( all in the open 1-1-2-1-1 for example) unless it was a standards stage.Matter of fact according to the IDPA rule book Course of Fire rule no.10 states "Targets must be engaged in tactical priority unless tactical sequence is specified.
  19. The 92-6-2 alloy they use is good for semi-auto pistols.I notice they are marketng to the Cowboy crowd as well but that alloy mix is on the hard side for them at the pitty-pat velocities they shoot.Seems they would have some leading problems as the bullet would be too hard to obturate (I love using that word ).It looks good for autos however.
  20. The BDA was manufactured for Browning by Beretta. It is identical to the Beretta model 84.
  21. Smart ass,it was his 3rd AD in 4 matches. No damn wonder I quit shooting at CRC.
  22. DAG,Ya'll used to have huge turnouts for the IPSC matches in Oak Ridge.I have my opinions of why attendence died but since I'm not an ORSA member I'll just keep them to myself.Suffice it to say though if Dwight had stayed on as Match Director I believe you all would still be going strong.
  23. You will enjoy the sport.Generally in IDPA most stages will be around 12-14 rds.Rules prohibit more than 18.Also distances will be shorter 12 yds or less most times. You will be required to shoot on the move on some stages as well.JMO but as a former IDPA Safety Officer,USPSA Range Officer and a Match Director I strongly suggest just watching for the first match and taking note of how things are done.Observe the loading and unloading procedures of the gun before the start and after the end of each stage.Notice how the shooters shoot on the move and how they keep the finger off the trigger and the muzzle uprange when they are moving to another position.Practice doing those things before the next match. It will make it easier on you and the Safety Officer as well.
  24. While not overtly tacti-cool I like the black Butler Creek stock on a blue 10/22.
