  1. The price you ask and the price you get are 2 different things.I remember back during the Clinton ban the dealers had the same $1500 AR15's on their tables for show after show, year after year the same guns.
  2. Gene was a good guy.He always seemed to have at least one or two good deals every time I went in there.I bought a lot of guns from him over the years.
  3. Actually the previous business there was named G&L.Gene (the G) sold out to an older guy who worked there and he and Toby, a long time employee ran it until they closed. These new people opened up a while back.I went in and looked around when they first started and if their gun prices are as high as their pawn shop items then they won't sell many guns.
  4. I love the Daily Mail.I read it every morning.
  5. If you are talking "best value" knives then the $1 orange handled serrated lock backs that were sold at convenience store counters in a plastic jar a few years back could not be beat.I bought one to cut plastic wrapping from around precast concrete pieces that I did not want to run my Old Timer's edge along and dull. Not that the OT is hard to sharpen but I need it to sharpen pencils with. It's a masonry thing (the trade not the "fraternity")
  6. I just saw the video/short film of Dodd's match last month. Finally after 30 years in the game Greg O'Neal makes his internet video debut.Saw a lot of people I did not recognize as well.
  7. By and large the accuracy of the Glock models range from the .40 being the least accurate and the .45 ACP model 21 and 30 being the most. That has been my experience as well as Massad Ayoob who really knows more than I do. I have had 2 model 30s and they were tack drivers with recoil being very managable. The recoil of a .45 ACP is a push in the Glocks with the 9/40 being a sharp snap.Just my
  8. So are the new gate passes for the old members in the mail as well?
  9. Schrade Cutlery does not make knives anymore either. I never thought I would see the day that OLD TIMER knives would be collector's items. The ones made now days are imports.
  10. You have to climb up on the platform and squat if you need to through the hole,I am not kidding.
  11. Who? If you mean the gunsmith at Guns and Leather his name is Jeff Walle.
  12. My brain is where I want it.If you can't take a joke well.......
  13. IIRC,The woman shot herself in the temple. The loads were so under powered that there were no powder burns at the bullet hole.
  14. They are calling for 13 degrees Sat. morning.Arcane,ya'll better break out the 511 Tactical Fur Lined Panties for the set up.There ought to be a lot of jams too for the guys that think their guns can run with no lube.
  15. bulm,Ya'll are hands down the best IPSC club in the state.I have shot your regular club matches and the TN Section match there as well. Folks these are class guys,go shoot with them you will have a great time and they will make you feel at home.

    Ruger LCR

They were copying the S&W 686.Remember the magazine ads that Smith put out with the revolver shaped hamburger meat with the GP grips on it?

Uh,you might want to look at the barrels .Also the old guns had better balance.

    Home-Defense Shotgun

Remington makes a 20 inch rifle sight barrel with Rem-chokes that come with a rifled choke tube.I have that barrel on my 870 with the Modified tube installed. It holds the shot together for a tighter pattern and works great with slugs as well.

They would be better off to scrap the GP100 series and bring back the Security/Service/Speed Six line.
  20. I am a bricklayer.I don't call myself a mason because I don't want to be identified with a bunch of fat,cardigan/vest sweater,Speidel watch band, wingtip shoe wearing old men who get together and eat brownies and run around with peacock feathers up their butts while they shock each other with cattle prods.:tinfoil:I have never done a fireplace or chimney as I have worked in the commercial side my entire time.I am about ready to hang it up though, lack of work and too many amigos for my likeing.

That's what they said about the P 85 as well,oh wait, that was another Ruger flop.
  22. The Charles Daly pictured above used to be sold by Kimber under their name.It is actually made by Bul.Kimber has another polymer double stack model now that is not nearly as well made or attractive as the Bul.

    Ruger LCR

Sounds like a Ruger flop ala the Hawkeye,308 Mini 14,and the .357 Maximum.Ruger has a pattern of introducing some duds and they are long overdue for another.
  24. I owned a Para-Ordnance P14 Limited.I wish I never sold it as it was the best 1911 I ever owned, never malfunctioned one time in over 30K rds and that included all bullet types. It was a single action model.STAY AWAY FROM THE LDA MODELS AND YOU WILL BE OKAY!.
