  1. I happened to talk to Dave today and he told me that was exactly what happened, his distributor was out of stock.
  2. I had Dave at D&T check to see if he could order the Apex parts I wanted. He really tried but couldn't get them (I don't know the reason). I ordered from Midway also.
  3. I have read of people on-line adding things like mineral spirits but I figure I have enough flammable crap around. I seem to be constantly combating static issues, too (although a liquid or semi-liquid like Nu Finish may help with that) so i just dont want to add fuel to the fire (pun intended ). The reason I am responding - 5 HOURS??? Seriously?!?! If I forget I may let my stuff run for an hour but its usually 30 - 45 minutes to get my brass a shinin' (and I was in the Navy, I know something about shining brass!).
  4. I don't care how good it feels new - it WILL feel much better after APEX parts! I did nt go "all the way" and install the DCEAK kit, I went with a hard sear and USB... all I can say is that when I bough my second M&P (in 45) it got the same treatment. I live in Nashville, if your interested in checking it out just let me know!
  5. I was once able to buy a used Colt Commander from a pawn shop for quite a deal..... but that was a long time ago in a land far, far away from middle Tennessee. Generally speaking the shop owners know what they are doing. You may well find a decent gun and if you know what your doing and know your prices you may reach a satisfactory agreement, but you wont be getting the deal of a lifetime or anything.
  6. What I know: Ruger fixed a used P95 I bought from a dealer (not the original owner), no questions asked; Excellent customer service. Everyone talks about how good S&W customer service just the same, I just have no personal knowledge of it. What I think: The S&W Sigma is a good gun but does need some slight modification to be better. Removal of what is known as the "pig spring" goes a long way to easing the heavy trigger (Google it). Both are good. I, personally, like black guns and the Ruger was available black off the shelf while the Sigma has always been a two-tone model (although that may be out of date information)... I would go for black. But that is personal preference. The couple looking to buy need to make that decision for themselves.
  7. Armorer huh? Sweeettttt! I own 2 M&P's (9L & .45 fs). I have added the hard sear and USB in them both and had Brandon install Truglo TFOs for me.
  8. Since I am the third person to say RCBS Rangemaster 750 does that make it a +3? Well whatever it is the 750 is a workhorse! I paid around $115, shipped for mine (I found it using one of those price comparison sites). I bought it because I had used a friends... and he liked it too!
  9. I add a used dryer sheet (cut into 1/8s) as it seems to absorb the crap coming off of the dirty cases. I also add a handful or 2 of finally ground walnut media (actually its pet bird litter from one of the big pet stores) and that really increased the shine.
  10. Just last week I was forced to stop my loading and sort my brass for the small primer crap. If I buy preloaded I usually get the Federal 230 Grain FMJ RN's (P/N: WM5233) from Wally World (the cheapest) - these all seem to be the small primmer ones.
  11. Glad to have you, TGO is a great place.
  12. Welcome! Good idea, to list the various ranges.
  13. Welcome! Ironically, I was thinking about moving out to that area too.
  14. Welcome to the group! A word of caution, the classifieds can be contagious!!
  15. Damn it man! I am glad I looked up before I posted! lol
  16. Maybe I missed it but did you pass the HCP class or not? In all fairness I too think the RO or instructor should have pulled your weapon from use when it went ratta-tat-tat but on the other hand if you handled the situation properly and made the minimum score you should not have had any problems. I am really glad Ruger took care of you, I once had a Ruger P95 that had a broken pin, not under warranty nor was I the original purchaser but they took care of it for me! Face it, any mechnicial device can break - its how they handle it that shows if it is a good company or not.
  17. Wasn't there supposed to be something about a gun in there???
  18. Welcome and good luck with getting them all!
  19. Welcome, glad to see ya! Dang, I guess I need to actually spend some money at D&T so I get a hat, too!
  20. Hope you find the info your looking for. Welcome to the board!
  21. Hello. Glad you've joined TGO, welcome!
  22. As I say I was just passing on what I was told. Now I am glad I didn't buy it! Instead I left with a Dillion catalog...
  23. I was there about a month ago for the first time. If you want to shoot a pistole there is only 1 place made to set a target fram (PVC pipes in the ground). My suggetion is to take your own frame and just figure-out a way to set it on the ground. Make sure and take plenty of water!
  24. Cars AND guns? Nice! Welcome!
  25. I was looking at a Chargemaster at Reloaders Bench last week and one of the guys that works there said that it is made by the same company as the Hornday Lock-N-Load Auto Charge, which is considerably cheaper. I ended up not buying either of them - just passing along what I was told. I am still using my Uniflow...
