  1. and then he gives in. As long as BHO is among the unemployed.
  2. +1 Absolutely would drop and the economy would surge as well. No-brainer except for the dirt people.
  3. I guess Santorum was a flash in the pan. It's probably sewn up but I'm looking forward to SC and counting on FL to make a stand. After that and it's still Rom, I just hope he grows a pair. I do wish that the closed primary states would vote first, we have too many liberal pundits telling us who we want.
  4. I like him, I admired his insistency during the debates to keep the focus on the economy and the urgent need to become oil independent. He has some good ideas but as soon as the media painted him as Bush-lite and then after his brain freeze I knew he wouldn't go far. The fix is in for Romney but he'd be just as good as any of them. I think he's better looking than Romney, has a genuine laugh and his grades might not be as good as Rom's but I'm sure there better than BHO's.
  5. Now imagine what the media would be saying if GW was in office.
  6. Another ray of hope.... Several conservative members of the Supreme Court criticized the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) on Monday for heavy-handed enforcement of rules affecting homeowners after the government told an Idaho couple they can’t challenge an order declaring their future home site a “protected wetlands.â€Justice Antonin Scalia assailed the “high-handedness†of the environmental agency when dealing with private property, and Justice Samuel Alito described some of the EPA’s actions as “outrageous,“ arguing that most people would say â€this kind of thing can’t happen in the United States.†Supreme Court Justices ‘Blast’ EPA for Telling Idaho Couple They Can
  7. It's there for the taking, if we don't someone else will. Norway’s Statoil said Monday it has discovered a large oil reserve in the Barents Sea, its second major oil find in the Arctic region in less than a year. The state-controlled oil company said a well drilled in the Havis prospect in the Barents Sea proved both oil and gas at an estimated volume of between 200 million and 300 million barrels of recoverable oil equivalents. Last April, Statoil said it had discovered between 150 million-250 million recoverable barrels of oil equivalents in the nearby Skrugard prospect. 8. Doesn't matter. According to a recent Gallup poll; Mitt Romney is the now the only candidate that a majority of conservative and moderate/liberal Republicans nationwide see as an “acceptable” GOP nominee for president. Conservative Republicans are more likely to say Romney would be an acceptable nominee than either Newt Gingrich or Rick Santorum. RP is below Perry and slightly above Huntsman in this poll but now that Chris Matthews has supported Huntsman he may just move ahead of the pack. We'll see what NH thinks about RP later tonight.
  9. Here you go, imagine .40 cents off a gallon of fuel? http://www.commonsensejunction.com/notes/gas-tax-rate.html But there's more - Policy Issues
  10. Mark Levin broke down a similar issue about the right to privacy in yesterdays program. 1/9 Mark Levin I believe since he is a constitutional lawyer he makes a good case whether you like him or not.
  11. Sounds like you pegged him pretty well. I imagine most voters feel the say way, style over substance. Hey, didn't BHO get elected on the same criteria?
  12. Not foolish at all. Perhaps if we were pumping our own and not involved in world markets. Maybe if the gov. didn't have so many taxes and regulations from the EPA and several other gov agencies getting their share of the pie we might could blame the owners. Maybe finding the chart that shows how much in taxes we pay per gallon would also be a good addition. Did I just reiterate what mcurrier said ? Tension between Iran and Western powers over Iran's nuclear program also has helped keep crude above $100. The U.S. has recently enacted new sanctions targeting Iran's central bank and its ability to sell petroleum abroad, and Europe is planning to restrict oil imports from Iran. Iran has threatened to close the key Strait of Hormuz at the mouth of the Persian Gulf if the country's oil exports are undermined by U.S. or European sanctions. Protests and a national strike in Nigeria over soaring fuel prices and government corruption also contributed to higher crude prices. Nigeria produces about 2.4 million barrels of oil a day and remains a top crude supplier to the U.S. While Nigeria's oil production appeared to be continuing, unions representing oil workers also have pledged to strike. A 6 percent annual rise in oil imports by China was another bullish factor for crude. ``Because China has recently much reduced its imports from Iran due to disputes over payment, the country will need to source its demand elsewhere, which could drive prices further upward,'' said a report from Commerzbank in Frankfurt. 13. Could there be someone running that you are not completely embarrassed of?
  14. Well written and spot on. I pains me to think that more and more people think like him and others blow off elections when they can make such a huge difference. Might be some hope yet, Poll: Americans, 2-1, Fear Obama's Reelection January 9, 2012 When it comes to how Americans view President Obama going into the new year, there appears to be very little spirit of Auld Lang Syne. Instead, according to the new Washington Whispers poll, many voters aren't forgetting what they dislike about Obama and want him out of office. In our New Year's poll, when asked what news event they fear most about 2012, Americans by a margin of two-to-one said Obama's reelection. Only 16 percent said they fear the Democrat won't win a second term, while 33 percent said they fear four more years. [Check out the top political events of 2011] Next to Obama's reelection, 31 percent of Americans said they feared higher taxes, which may be proof that the president's focus on the payroll tax cut has hit paydirt. The poll, however, held out some hope for Obama. Some 38 percent of younger Americans, 18-24, said their biggest fear was higher taxes. Just 28 percent of those same voters said they feared Obama winning in November. [see pictures of Obama behind the scenes.] But in results backed up by other polls, older Americans and those earning $75,000 or more are especially worried about the president getting a second term, according to the poll done by Synovate eNation. Nearly half of Americans 65 and older said Obama's reelection was their top fear, 39 percent of those making $75,000 or more agreed. As we enter the presidential election year of 2012, what potential news event do you fear the most? President Obama wins reelection 33% Taxes will increase 31% Iran will get a nuclear weapon 16% Obama will lose reelection 16% North Korea will attack South Korea 4% Source: The Synovate eNation Internet poll was conducted December 29-January 2 among a national sample of 1,000 households by global market research firm Synovate.
  15. You left out the government, you, your god and your government. Since the government has their nose in it thanks to a number of reasons, mainly the one that AR mentioned, they want to change the definition to include....what? Then what will be next? Why is the left forcing me to accept something that I don't agree with? Why are they wanting to change the rule of law? Our Constitution was made only for a moral and religious people, some people seek to overturn and destroy these very foundations which society, government and religion rest. Some want us to be an atheist nation and this is the path to tyranny. I've made my points. Believe what you want.
  16. Well, turns out that there was a pretty good reason for razing the estate: termites. A report in People magazine indicated that the 1920s-era mansion fell short of current hurricane safety codes, and combined with a termite infestation, that was enough to warrant blasting it down to the sand. 17. Makes a good case of why we should be drilling and pumping our own oil. Closing the Strait of Hormuz poses a huge amount of problems around the world, I don't know if other countries are taking it as serious as we are or if they are willing to take this on themselves. Guess the UN will decide, that is if King BHO doesn't. (not mentioning the nuclear threat)
  18. I've been wondering about this too. I think there's a chance that BHO will start something before the election because past polls show a wartime president usually gets re-elected. He has kept that hornets nest stirred up since he came in office, it wouldn't surprise me that he would swat it again before the election. Fuel prices will continue to rise this year which also fuels (pun intended) his green agenda. The other side would be that he'll campaign against the republicans with the message that they want us back into a another "unjust" war and he is the only one that can resolve it with more sanctions. It's hard to tell when we are dealing with a dictator.
  19. I found it hilarious that Pelosi of all people would speak kindly of another republican/libertarian. Made me wonder about that Blue Republican movement also. Could be a coded message to her followers
  20. You want it both ways. I think it waters down the meaning of marriage and takes away the importance that it once stood for before Government replaced the dad with a welfare check. Ponder this analogy, suppose we took the United States flag and decided to take sections out of it and sew in other flags of different nationalities? Since we are all one people and many people from other countries live here, why not have a flag to represent all of them? I think it has come to the point that marriage needs to be defined in the constitution to try to save it from being completely irrelevant in the future.
  21. I was trying to find a happy medium but all it does is divide us, exactly what the left and BHO wants. You're dead on with your analysis and the solution, if there is one, will make matters worse for one side or the other. Most likely worse for the conservative right.
  22. Gotta love this one, Rep. Ron Paul, R-Texas, received some warm personal praise from an unexpected quarter, as House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi, D-Calif., described him as "a gentleman," although she seemed to reserve the right to attack him if he wins the Republican nomination. "I have a great deal of respect for Ron Paul," Pelosi said today on CNN, when asked to comment on her long-time fellow representative. "He acts upon his convictions and he's a nice fellow in the Congress of the United States. He's a gentleman." Rather than discuss his potential as a president, she said that "when we get to the nomination, when they have somebody, we can talk about that." Sorry, can't help it.
  23. what am I forcing on you? You can screw whatever you want, I don't care but when you take a tradition like marriage that's been around since earth and want to force me to change it to include whatever you're screwing, then I think it's time to take a stand.
  24. I believe I understood you correctly below that you feel that marriage needs to be defined as between a man and woman and civil unions for the gay community. That's the big question, if marriage is not defined then it can be whatever some church or judge decides it to be (polygamy or even *bestiality). If the government stays out of it, which it will not, then marriage has lost it's traditional moral value. That is the same thing RS is saying, he just doesn't like civil unions because he feels it will eventually be accepted as a traditional marriage. I think RS does realize how government has eroded the family, he did try to reform the welfare program and agrees with means testing for entitlements. I'm not going change your opinion of him but I hope you have compared him to others and understand his positions as well as you do RP's. *If bestiality is too far a stretch how about father and daughter, cousins, brothers and sisters....get my point?
  25. Fine, let's say someone sets them up a church that as part of their religion practices polygamy and beastiality, is that OK with you?
