Well, I'm proud to say my 26 yr old son is a strong-right-leaning-conservative and so is most of his friends. My wife and I won't take all the credit, his private education in a Christian school may have also had something to do with it.

Potential Self-Defense Law Seminar -No Cost
kieefer replied to midtennchip's topic in Events and Gatherings
Just what the doctor ordered! However, due to distance it would be impractical to attend. If someone would record the seminar and sell it on a CD or DVD, that would tickle my fancy. Thank you for providing that great opportunity as it seems state specific training is difficult to obtain, much less a free bee.
Now there's an idea, then sell it to benefit TGO and your time. The dates don't work for me but I appreciate your efforts. -
Good luck but don't expect much. YOU ARE NOT ALONE WITH YOUR FRUSTRATION. This crap happens all the time. A car load of mexicans ran a light and hit my brother in a new VW Beetle back when they first came out. When they hit his car, they backed up and went off the road, six of them got out of the car and ran off. The car had tags on it from a different vehicle, uninsured of course. My Brother wasn't hurt but the car was totaled. His INS Co. handled everything. Never heard about who the driver was. Similar accident happened to my parents years back. And we wonder why OUR insurance costs are so high.

I hit too many shops this wkend but I think I saw one at Outpost Armory in black, pretty sure it was a .22. Might call'em first. BTW, my Dad has a Bersa Thunder in .380, a very nice shooter.

Question regarding protection property?
kieefer replied to CM1021's topic in Handgun Carry and Self Defense
Correct me if I'm wrong but this is the way I see it and hypothetically experienced it. Recently my bike was stolen out of the back of my truck in a restaurant parking lot. If I caught them in the act I could not shoot them, even if they were running or driving away and I yelled stop. IF I caught them in the act and they turned on me with a gun or knife I have the right to defend myself and property and could shoot away. The same applies IF the incident took place on my own property BUT if they were in my house I would assume they intend to do harm. After my bike was stolen I was contemplating what would I do because I was seriously ready to shoot the punk who stole my bike. Glad I had time to think it through. -
I guess the Deal of the Day is a Ruger SR22 for $275. cash to the first 6 folks who showed up at Lebanon Gun Shop this morning. I was #4
Any chance the bike shop annotated the serial number while it was in for work?
No they didn't but I have it. I have filed a police report.
Any security cams at the cafe?
No, they don't. Since I changed the bars and it being a old, no longer made mountain bike it's basically a one of a kind, should be easy to spot.
Contact LE and file a report with the serial number. Most major departments have a pawn shop detail. Dolomite
Thanks, i'll be looking for my receipt tomorrow with the serial # on it. Might be a chance I can find it even though I bought it like 15years ago. That's really my only option to prove that it's mine, IF it shows up.

Don't know what good it will do but I thought I'd mention this. Took my bicycle to Eastside Bike shop to have new cables put on because I installed a new higher handlebar. Picked it up around 430pm. I called in an order at Calyspo Cafe at Gartland Ave. and Gallatin pike and went in to pick it up, maybe 5 minutes. I come back out to find my bike stolen out of the back of my truck. Yea, I should have locked it up. Anyway, I rode around hoping to find the azzhole riding it away but no luck. It was a vintage ProFlex 856, red with new black handlebars and cables on it. No idea if it will show up at a pawn shop or on CL. I called the bike shop to let them know since they have some connections and they will keep a lookout. Thought I'd mention it here since we have some law enforcers on the beat in this area. Really pissed me off.

Just heard that this was not Tebow who tweeted this comment, some loser posing as Tim. Like the comment though.

What will you do on the day after tomorrow?
kieefer replied to Links2k's topic in 2A Legislation and Politics
When BHO loses I'll also have a sigh of relief that our country hasn't gone down the tubes. IF he wins my cranium won't combust but I'll be depressively disappointed. After 4yrs of Romney IF he hasn't done what he said he was going to do, at least on the big issues, then I will vote him out too. Life goes on. The next fight will be in 2014 with 33 of the 100 seats in the Senate being contested. I hope everyone will remember what we went through in 2008 when it comes for that time to vote. -
So who thinks Obama should be re-elected?
kieefer replied to TNMP40's topic in 2A Legislation and Politics
I'd like to agree with you, but I don't think that this country has reached the point where we want real leadership or politicians that do the will of the people. As I said earlier, as long as we get pulled into the gay issues, race baiting and worrying about womens personal issues every election cycle we will keep settling for the lesser of two evils. Because of this, you have more people talking about vaginas and gay weddings than he economy and national security. I've survived a lot of life threatening situations. I know pain and I'm willing to endure more to stop the madness.
Funny, I haven't heard Romney discuss these issues you mention. -
Nothing surprises me, well I take that back. (The liquor enema story at UT did surprise me.) But anyway, a few years back while near Centennial Park in Nashville my son and I saw a guy back up and lean/sit against a tree...and took a dump...around lunch time. This was in front of a business and not far from a sidewalk. The guy might have been homeless, as if that's an excuse.
Morris' latest video still stands by a 300-325 electoral vote win for Romney and predicting the losers will cite the polls as proof that somehow the black vote was suppressed, and the UN dorks and the New Black Panthers will stand there and nod in agreement.
fixed

kieefer replied to TNMP40's topic in 2A Legislation and Politics
i don't think it matters which one gets elected. I don't think there is much difference in the two.
I've heard that before, doesn't make a bit of sense. -
So who thinks Obama should be re-elected?
kieefer replied to TNMP40's topic in 2A Legislation and Politics
You are right about that.... never did a poll before.
Well, try it again and make sure the questions can be answered clearly with an option for everyone -
+1 If every American who feels strongly against the Affordable Care Act – also known as Obamacare – gets to the polls by Tuesday and votes against Obama and his health care policy, Mitt Romney wins the election and starts making his moves to repeal the unwanted law on January 20, 2013. Same goes for the upcoming Supreme Court appointments and a dozen of other good reasons but these two would have to be the top two.

Screwy poll, YES Will BHO be re-elected, NO Will our gun rights be in jeopardy, ALWAYS Thinking that someone is going to change your mind the day before an election, PRICELESS. -
Thousands of ballots unlikely to reach military voters in time

Another disgraceful example of the incompetence of our government. Also, check out the stories of our service men and women that have had their names wiped off the voter rolls and finding that out when they attempt to vote. -
A Last Minute Appeal To Libertarians And Non-Voters
kieefer replied to gun sane's topic in 2A Legislation and Politics
I don't think there's any room for a protest vote in a presidential election. I can't think of any previous time that that was the reason for me voting FOR a presidential candidate. Ross Perot may be considered a protest vote by some but he had some ideas and visions that I think we needed at the time, if only he looked and sounded like George Clooney he may have made it. Reality had not yet set in at my young age during that voting season. This time Brad Staats got my vote against the relic Jim Cooper and Kermit Steck got my vote against Corker, those two were my so-called protests votes this time. The likelihood that either of them winning is slim but those two,IMO, have a better chance of winning than GaryJ or any other 3rd party presidential candidate. I feel good about both of them but feel Cooper and Corker will win it. Will this vote make that big of a difference?, doubtful in this case. Not so much when it comes to the communist messiah. Watching past elections I believe local elections are where you change the direction, not in national elections. -
