    RUGER LC9

G&L didn't have one today but has them on order. I'll be looking at the Gun Show this weekend to see if any show up.
  2. Nice OD, do you carry yours?
  3. Mr. Viani has been working with other guns in his shop including the SR9 to duplicate my problem. He feels the Tactical would solve my issue and has one coming my way. The Tactical requires some filing for a proper fit (this one reduces over-travel too), shouldn't be any problem for me since I've become a master of dismantling the SR9. BTW, I polished the mating surfaces of my stock trigger bar to the point that they look like chrome.

cool, review from Quinn Ruger’s New LC9 Compact 9mm Pocket Pistol
  5. Aren't you suppose to hang these on a fence post or something? :-\ My Uncle in KY used to bait large treble hooks attached to chain hanging from a tree about 5' off the ground for these critters.
  6. I believe I found the problem. Compare these two pictures, doesn't the Ultimate look longer? It is by .03. I'm passing my discovery on to Mr. Viani, Pres. of Ghost.

  8. I got the Bedair guide rod in my SR9, looks classy and adds a bit of weight. Great service. I got time today to ..take...it....apart....again. Kinda tired of messing with it and been shooting the revolver instead.
  9. 3:42 AM, Feb. 8, 2011| Tennessee Republicans have proposed legislation that calls for the state to join an interstate compact challenging the new federal health-care law. Senate Speaker Ron Ramsey and several members of the Tennessee Tea Party joined Senate sponsor Mae Beavers in announcing the measure on Monday. The proposal would provide a waiver for each participating state to create its own health-care system. The legislation would have to be approved by Congress. Last week, Tennessee Republican Gov. Bill Haslam joined other governors in asking President Barack Obama to fast-track Supreme Court consideration of challenges to the federal health care law. Haslam in the letter urges Obama to eliminate the "uncertainty" about the future of the health- care overhaul after two federal court rulings that found the law unconstitutional. Judges in two other cases have upheld the law. in todays Tennessean
  10. PX90 is a cardio workout designed to cut/reduce fat. If you want to bulk up, double your calories and eat protein every two hours. Your workout should be heavy and lazy. If you're up to it start a once a week 20 rep squat routine as the only cardio work you do and drink 1000 calorie protein drink before you go to bed. Week on, week off with your workouts. Simply you have to eat more calories to add bulk and use heavy weights with low reps. Less weight high reps to cut-up with fewer calories but using clean foods such as going natural, cut the sugar, cut the bread and dairy, eat quality carbs and quality proteins. Drink nothing but water and teas. In my younger days, this worked for me and some friends of mine.
  11. My SR9 already had the upgrade when I bought it. I the received another Ultimate from Ghost though the exchange. I installed it "as is"....as in a drop-in part as described in their ad. It didn't work, no trigger at all, locked so to speak. Again I swapped it out 5 times with the stock part with no change, stocks works, Ghost doesn't. Explained this again to Ghost and he hasn't offered to refund. I going to polish the edges before the weekend with hopes of re-fitting it again. It's almost like it's too long because I can reset the trigger without the slide in place and dry fire it. Once the slide is in place the trigger won't reset or pull. Thanks for the reminder, I'll try give another update.
  12. My SR9 was my first pistol besides .22 autos. So I don't have a lot experience with other pistols. It's easy to clean and take completely down. After 1000 rds I installed a Ghost Ultimate but didn't have favorable results so I'm back to the stock trigger bar. I think the action could be smoother but it is very accurate with good ammo. I have shot a Beretta PX4 and almost regret not getting this pistol instead, I still have it on my list but can't bring myself to depart with the SR9. I also shot a XD compact in 9mm, felt similar to the SR but not as impressive (to me) as the PX4. I'm looking forward to seeing and using a LC9 which may be something else for you to consider?
  13. Are there more shows happening lately or have I just haven't been paying attention?
  14. Well, apparently someone wanted the .38 over the .357 because it was sold 2hrs before I got there. Seems the .38 was in 2" 1/4 length barrel, which was what I was after, and the .357 is in 3" 1/6. Or maybe he/she felt the magnum cartridge would be better suited in the larger framed GP100? Who knows, having choices are a good thing either way.
  15. Yeah, you're right. Why have one in .38?
  16. I want to know who bought the SP in .38 at Nashville Sporting Arms this morning? Still one there in .357 for you other fever ridden revolver heads.
  17. Thought I'd bump this one up since I have a fever for one in .38cal.. I feel this revolver would be more useful than my SBH in .44mag with 7,5" barrel.
  18. I went with "knowledge", the knowledge being the dealer knows what customer service really is. Price comes second. Case in point, recently I went to a shop and was welcomed when I came in the door, the store had only two other customers in there. I asked about a Beretta PX4, he said he did not carry them but offered to order one, he then went to his books, searched the gun, went to the internet and came back with a card with the out the door price written on it. He stated he would beat anyones price and if he could help further to call him. I was looking at his stock during this time and was pleasantly surprised at his initiative. After calling other shops for the OTD price, he was right, he beat 4 other dealers. So I'm sold, I'll pay him a visit the next time I buy. The next example is another dealer similar in store size. Every time I've been in there, there has been friends crowding the counter jawboning. After I was acknowledged, maybe 5 minutes after browsing around, (couldn't look at the small display of guns because of the locals blocking it). I asked them about the Beretta, "No, don't have one" and that was it. That did it for me, it's the last time I'll be in that shop. This wasn't the first time that I've been in there but looking back, each time that I was I never felt welcome. So, If I'm treated right, they get my business. As far as knowing every detail about every gun they have in the shop, I feel this is part of my job before I purchase but they should offer comparisons and be truthful if they are unaware.
