  1. What say we lock this thread and start a new one with the Facebook announcement?  All in favor?
  2. It appears that good things are beginning to happen.    https://www.facebook.com/events/406312512782872/
  3. I discovered America in Texas!  Howdy from a transplanted Texhoman.
  4. Greetings from Maryville, Kalel.
  5. I didn't mean for this to get contentious.  I believe we're all freedom-loving patriots here who are "under the gun" right now with the threat of losing our last viable weapon that the Constitution affords to us.  But somehow this conversation went from a proposition that we all stand together and get our picture taken, to a dangerous marching mob of F-troop recruits.   Perhaps this long national nightmare will end with a peaceful resolution.  I pray to God it will.  But let's take a little time to reflect upon the threats we face and how we may persevere.   How will history judge this generation is a good question to start with. Since we may have to share a foxhole someday, I'll try to keep my criticism pointed in a safe direction.  :usa:
  6.   That's plausible.  But can you imagine the number of friendly fire casualties we'll suffer if a real revolution starts?  And let's forget our argument that if only one citizen with a permit was at the scene of a mass shooting, he could take the wacko out.
  7. Never mind, guys, it's crazy to bring a gun to a talk fight.    "Oh, damn!  Torpedoes!  Full speed backwards."   "Give me liberty or give me food stamps."   "I have not yet begun to negotiate."    With all due respect, we're whipped before we start.
  8. Again, Obama says he want to "fundamentally change" the concept of gun ownership in America.  He made a similar declaration a few days before the 2008 election about changing America as a whole.  Did he make his promise good, or should I say his threat?  How much of our socioeconomic system is still recognizable?  The politicians who say that they're on our side have fought valiantly to ensure that Obama doesn't get the whole pie.  Yet, they believe they've done the job we elected them to do when he takes only a big slice at a time.  As they walk away from the table with shredded underwear, the GOP shrugs and says, "Elections have consequences."  So does robbery.   The NRA was fighting for us when we had our first assault weapons ban.  Thank God there was a sunset provision to that one; there won't be this time.
  9. Since I certainly don't mean to defame or diminish the honor of those who rest at Arlington, my apologies to you.  My relatives are buried elsewhere but did their solemn duty as well.  I'm not calling for a Lexington-Concord showdown here, but I'm only saying what a lot of gun owners are thinking.  We have representatives in Washington that give us lip service and then flip service.  We have the most asinine discussions about debt ceilings, fiscal cliffs and economic strategies when we know not a blessed thing they decide will work.  You simply can't win against totalitarian statists by giving them a home field advantage.  I wonder how long we can talk until every man, woman and child in the country is begging for bread.  Those who want to rule, not govern, this country know that there's millions of gun owners out here.  I'm only saying we should give them the opportunity to see them on our terms, albeit peacefully.
  10. I guess the Sons of Liberty we're wrong to throw the tea into Boston Harbor.   Those Texians should have abandoned the Alamo before Santa Ana got there.  While we're waiting for the NRA's marching orders, why don't we go out to Arlington National Cemetery and ask for a show of hands?
  11. Not for nuthin', but the John Q. Sheeple crowd will hide under their beds when Obamacare or another assault on our freedoms comes out of D.C.  They aren't the ones we're trying to impress.  The gun grabbers are now strutting their stuff and practically daring anybody to oppose what they want to do.  Write all the letters and emails to Congress you want until you're hand withers and falls off.  We've done that for the last four years and what did it get us?    So what if somebody does fire a weapon?  They're going to do that anyway at the next mall or school shooting.  At least someone will be close by to take them out.  I mean, what are we doing here?  Obama says he want to "fundamentally change" the concept of gun ownership in America.  The president is not given kingly powers by the Constitution.  The founding fathers came up with the idea of the 2A for just this purpose.  If we're too antsy about what somebody will do if we stand up and be counted, there's nothing to stop them from what they want to do.
  12. I don't do Twitter or Facebook, but I've seen what happens when the word goes around to meet for a flash mob someplace.  Why don't gun owners pick a certain day and time when everyone in America with a rifle, shotgun or handgun meets in their own town square for a display of weaponry. Big city carriers could show up at city hall. Have the local news cover the event with pictures of everyone standing at port arms with a big sign which says, "Come And Take Them." The lib politicians and national media would have a brown-out in their shorts!  :dropjaw:  :panic: :stare:
  13.   I may have already screwed up then.  In addition to Corker, Alexander and Rep. Duncan, I sent an email to Prez Zero through the NRA website which says that anybody who supports Feinstein's bill is either a traitor or a dictator.  I hope I get a room with a view at the re-education camp.
  14. Nobody else is saying it, so I will.  Bersa makes a striker 9mm comparable to the Shield called the BP9CC.   The grips are a tad thinner than the Shield, but the overall width is greater.  I've had mine for a few months now and its accuracy is amazing.  As far as I know, it's availability is better than the Walther or Shield.  Just sayin'.
  15. Gregory and NBC will plead the 1st, not the 5th, amendment and say they were speaking out to support for the D.C. law.  It'll be dismissed with a warning.
  16. Let's see if they can take it as well as they dish it out.  This blogger tracked down the publisher and outed her name, address, phone #s and credit card buying habits.   http://christopherfountain.wordpress.com/2012/12/24/sauce-for-the-goose/
  17. Got a picture?  Our guesstimate accuracy improves significantly if we know what we're looking at.  :stunned:
  18. Try the Georgia Arms table at the next gunshow.
  19.       I'd take the credit if it were mine.  It's making its way all over Gundom.   Of course, I'll get blamed if somebody does something "extreme" about it.  :koolaid:
  20. Saying he was unwilling to let what he called a “lazy-a** Congress” go on a Kwanzaa break without doing something to end gun violence, President Obama on Sunday wrote and signed Executive Order No. 57-ought-nought, demanding that law enforcement officials in all 57 states immediately confiscate any and all guns believed to have been, or are potentially able to be used in crimes. This is to be retroactive, so will include any and all guns, weapons, explosive devices, etc. made or imported into the continental United States and/or territories existing on or before the founding thereof. Per previous arrangements, imported fireworks are exempt. The Smithsonian Institute has filed a complaint, stating that moving and melting down numerous guns, cannons and related explosive devices would be cost prohibitive, and would cause hardship when trying to rearrange the existing artifacts and update the catalogs regarding the remaining exhibits. The Director of the Smithsonian requested an immediate fund of $3.8 billion to offset the costs. “This will get those dang guns off the street,” the President remarked as he signed the order, which was written on a cocktail napkin from the Kappuhualuhannilannamaliki-aha Hotel where he, the family and their entourage of 700 personal assistants, servants, cooks and interior decorators were staying. Some Republican critics immediately criticized the order in a critical fashion, which other Democratic critics deemed overly critical. Nonetheless, the critics of the first part noted that the executive order was unclear on whether the president meant to say law enforcement should arrest all “guns” or “gun owners,” primarily due to a large water ring left on the order by the president’s fifth papaya-mango daiquiri of the morning. “What the ****?” said congressman Paul Ryan, furrowing his Eddie Munster-like brow into a full vampiric scowl. Democratic Rep. Barney Frank also commented on the new executive order, but no one could understand what he was saying above the wet, flapping sound of his jowls. His office later released a statement in which he wrote, “It’s about time we put the blame where it belongs, on the weapon, not the weapon’s user. People don’t kill people. Guns kill people.” Former speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi, when asked about the president’s executive order, jumped up and down and giggled hysterically for several minutes before saying, “I just bought a gun recycling plant last week called Dolomite's Potjie Pot Meltdown Plant. I can’t wait to cash that check!” Sen. Majority Leader Harry Reid’s only comment was “Huh?” as he slipped back into a coma at his desk behind an inbox overflowing with unread budget proposals. The executive order would also hold bullets and high-capacity magazines accountable as accessories to a crime. Frank said he was glad that targeting scopes were exempted from criminal responsibility under the new law of the land. “Let’s face it,” Frank said, “targeting scopes are kind of gay. Therefore they must be given special consideration.” Under the executive order, guns convicted of a crime would be melted down and turned into speculums and other probing devices for use by the TSA at airport security checkpoints.
  21. This is interesting.  Zoom in to New York City and you will see there's only a handful of permits.  Go north off of Manhattan Island and you'll see a definite boundary where permit holders are crowded in.  Must be a Ziegfried Line of sorts.
  22. I'm still looking for white accessories so I can call it my assault & pepper rifle.
  23. I prefer the Taurus TCP's trigger to the LCP, although my wife did carry the Ruger for awhile.  Then I made that age-old mistake of letting her shoot my TCP and now I only have visitation rights.
  24.   Why stop at 10?  They'll probably leave us with 3 in the mag and we have to count to 10 before firing each shot.
  25. According to body language expert Tonya Reiman, a good liar can look you right in the face while he tells a whopper.  She says that to detect if a person is lying or not, look for other body signs which may be a giveaway.  Among them is rubbing the eye.   http://www.tonyareiman.com/articles/Liar_Liar_Pants_on_fire
