  1. They're backstepping now.  The latest story is that he didn't get the medal for just a Powerpoint presentation.  While in Afghanistan, the chaplain also bravely ran a suicide prevention training program and regularly held worship services.   http://www.theblaze.com/stories/2013/03/13/air-force-chaplain-awarded-prestigious-bronze-star-for-powerpoint-teaching-about-proper-disposal-handling-of-islamic-texts/
  2. Your grandfather was a wonderful man.  I wish that I had known him.  May God's comforting presence be with you and your family, especially your grandmother.
  3. It is also comes from a part-time president who believes we should end wars instead of win them.
  4.   I think the point here is that it was only after his purchase of the AR-15 was made public that he announced he was giving it to the cops.  Not that he has to tell anyone, but so far no one has verified that this was his original intent.  To me it seems unusual that one so outspoken about the necessity of getting firearms like these out of the hands of civilians wouldn't at least mention it at the point of sale.  He's still mum about the 1911, which is also peculiar since it was a handgun that ended his wife's career, not to mention the lives of several bystanders.
  5. Dang!  Those pesky gun laws....   http://www.thegatewaypundit.com/2013/03/oops-gabby-giffords-husband-mark-kelly-may-have-committed-felony-with-his-ar-15-purchase/
  6.   True.  And until we have a law called Obamagas that makes us buy their junk or pay a penalty, we can drive right by their stations, too.
  7. Besides turning the honor of a Bronze Star into something akin to a Cracker Jacks prize, my beef about this is the military has to be PC on anything that may offend somebody when our troops' butts are on the line 24/7.  "It might start a riot," the brass says.  Yeah, they might start shooting at us, too.  But heaven forbid they call us hurtful names like "infidel."
  8. Well, he did risk his life....if he misspelled a verse he could have been beheaded or something.   http://www.nationalreview.com/corner/342655/air-force-chaplain-awarded-bronze-star-powerpoint-teaching-proper-sensitivity-quran-pa
  9. There are a lot of hunters and recreational shooters that go along with some of the restrictions true anti-gunners are proposing, like private back checks and mag caps. They say they support the second amendment, but I believe it's more that they are not against it. Folks like the Giffords affirm that the people have a right to keep and bear arms, but they stumble over the "shall not be infringed" part. What if you were to ask them if the same restrictions they want to place upon our 2A rights would carry over to 1A? How about allowing free speech, but you're limited to no more than 10 minutes? What if all civil rights activists were required to undergo a background check before they could get a permit to march in protest or stand on a corner with a sign? Could a person in need of legal counsel hire someone who once served in the JAG Corps or would he be too much of a "military style" lawyer? I mean, where do we draw the line on their favorite rights?
  10. Okay, I'll risk public ridicule.....what does SPF mean?
  11. Given the stakes involved, I say that voting on a bill to block gun control is far more important to us than raising money for your political future.   http://dailycaller.com/2013/03/08/anti-gun-control-lawmaker-skips-major-gun-control-vote-for-fundraiser/
  12. Good to know.  I ordered a thousand Berry 100-grainers for my .380s last night @ $75.00.  If they're nice to me in this kind of dog-eat-dog market, they'll see me again.
  13. That's the first and last time I've seen that blog.  Maybe he should go on a USO tour.
  14. There's something seriously screwed up with me.  I should have known by the author's byline.   :nervous:
  15. There's something seriously screwed up with today's Army.   http://www.duffelblog.com/2013/03/alleged-fort-hood-shooter-nidal-hasan-receives-promotion-legion-of-merit/
  16. Buddy at BSL is one of the best guys to deal with.   I was one of his earliest customers and he works hard to deliver a superior product for a very reasonable price.  He's always open to suggestions and recently developed a 300 AAC Blackout offering.  Drop him a note and he'll share some of his recipies.
  17. It's interesting what this ex-Navy captain has to say:  "Why do we need them?"  Pick it up one minute in to the video.   http://www.foxnews.com/on-air/americas-newsroom/index.html#http://video.foxnews.com/v/2207180216001/sen-slams-holders-refusal-to-rule-out-us-drone-strikes/?playlist_id=86909
  18.   Not for nuthin', but "most" isn't that comforting a word in this case.
  19. Heck, police kick in the wrong door every day.  What do we do with the geek on a joystick who just happens to get a terrorist's ID wrong and levels a daycare center?
  20.   Unless Obama ordered the flags lowered, their U.S. Code excuse doesn't fly....pun intended.
  21. Not...one...single...drop of Citgo gas goes into my tank--ever again.   http://www.khou.com/news/local/Citgos-Houston-offices-fly-flags-at-half-staff-for-Chavez-195652111.html
  22. If you're not reloading you're really hurting.....if you are reloading, you're kinda hurting.
  23. I'll just get in, buy some things from David and get out.  These gun shows are turning into Fantasyland.
  24. I don't know what you're used to reloading, but I think you'll find .38/.357 easier because of its straight wall design.  Some find the tapered casings of semi-auto calibers a bit more difficult.  You will need to roll crimp the loads, but that's easy-peasy too.
