  1. I'm sure the guy is having the time of his life with what he enjoys, and probably is amazed with his new found celebrity, but by my definition, he's not a collector, but an acquirer or accumulator.  All of the gun collectors I have known had a specific focus on what they were collecting, such as pre-war this or Mauser that.  Even those who collect stamps, coins or other unique objects don't take in a hodge podge of items but are very selective as to what they bring into their collection.  Even I am a collector of post marital kitschy junk.
  2. No matter the maker, every now and then something's going to happen and a boo-boo will go out the door.  I noticed that some ammo would not feed easily into my new H001.  I called Henry and they had a PREPAID UPS LABEL in my mailbox in two days.  I shipped it out via my LGS and within ten days I had my rifle back with a new carrier.  It's performed like a champ ever since.  It's nice to know that some outfits back up their words with action.
  3. I believe he's talking about the founding fathers here.
  4. Even with an intimidating, ferocious dog around, David has kept his prices at pre-panic levels.  I was happy to buy a jug of Red Dot without getting licked to death.
  5. He can't be a single-shot.
  6. Here's a video of the citizen volunteer briefing:   http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZLsg0EvZozI
  7. And here's his standards to determine if you're violent:     http://www.mypalmbeachpost.com/news/news/state-regional-govt-politics/bradshaw-gets-1-million-for-violence-prevention-un/nXbs4/
  8.   The military has already stated it's position on the matter:  "Section 2.11 requires “government neutrality regarding religion.”  And Obama says he's for the 2nd Amendment.
  9. When the military lets atheists decide what's sharing your faith and what's not, how are our armed forces to conduct themselves in combat?  Will you be allowed to pray in a foxhole?  How about before chow?  I'm not talking about sandpapering others into belief in God.  That wouldn't do anybody any good if he doesn't believe it from the heart.  But it's this same kind of progressive dogmatism that is trying to get you relieved of your firearms.
  10. We better pray to God that there's a big misunderstanding here. http://www.breitbart.com/Big-Peace/2...hristian-Faith http://radio.foxnews.com/toddstarnes...permitted.html
  11. There is no smart reason for banning guns, but these are the shrewdest methods I've heard to accomplish it.   http://kontradictions.wordpress.com/2013/04/20/dear-democratic-gun-control-lobby-how-to-get-better/

  12. I often wonder how new phrases or expressions get through the pipeline so quickly.  Some Hollyweird celebrity-of-the-month can fracture the language and within three days it's part of the national vernacular.
  13. That's a good idea for shotguns.  Whenever I need patches for handguns and rifles, I don't head to the LGS for expensive ones.  I go to Hobby Lobby or another fabric store and buy a square yard of cotton cloth for around $3.  I cut them myself to fit.  That gives me enough for six months or more.
  14. It wasn't a waste for me.  I placed an order with Sam that should be here by mid-week.  That gal is so helpful.  :hat:
  15.   Children?  So where's the bill to curtail abortion?
  16. Get used to pink.  Congratulations, broox!
  17. Early Sunday morning a TVA security officer was fired upon by a perp outside the reactor protected area.   http://oakridgetoday.com/2013/04/21/gunshots-fired-at-watts-bar-nuclear-plant-involve-tva-nuclear-security-officer/
  18. I started this post with a question.  After seeing this video of what the house-to-house in Watertown, MA search entailed, I can say definitely I would want no part of it.   See for yourself if this is your idea of Fourth Amendment rights, even when you give consent to search.   http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2LrbsUVSVl8
  19.   50 years ago I might have agreed with you.
  20. LEOs from all levels of government locked down several areas of Boston while hunting for the fugitive bomber today. Then they began the tedious, but perilous, task of going door-to-door to flush him out. The photos I saw showed them knocking, presumably to ask permission to enter. This got me to wondering what I would say if I opened my door to a group of LEOs, knowing that they are looking for a dangerous killer. What if you refused to give them permission to enter? What if they found a firearm in the course of their search--in Massachusetts of all places. I can see the headline now: Homeowner Questioned For Refusing Police Entry. What do you think the statist propagandists at MSNBC would do with that tidbit of info? Would you like your name and address broadcast or printed for all the world to see? The Fourth Amendment to the Constitution says, "The right of the people to be secure in their persons, houses, papers, and effects, against unreasonable searches and seizures, shall not be violated, and no Warrants shall issue, but upon probable cause, supported by Oath or affirmation, and particularly describing the place to be searched, and the persons or things to be seized. I believe I would politely refuse. They could stake out my house if they wanted, but unwarranted search and seizure is just that. The Constitution says nothing about a police emergency that would trump this right of security. But then there's that word "unreasonable." I wonder if the courts would rule that it is reasonable to let the police in, given the gravity of the situation. Or, do you suppose they got a judge to grant a blanket warrant specifically looking for the perp, and thus any other item found would not be admissible. Any legal eagles out there with two cents to contribute?
  21. I knew the Dems were low down bottom feeders, but I hope they wouldn't stoop to that.  :squint:
  22. Sen. Kelly Ayotte nixes the Manchin-Toomey bill, signaling that it's D.O.A.....maybe. http://weaselzippers.us/2013/04/17/g...dment-now-doa/
  23. Just sent to Alexander and Corker via Facebook...
  24.     You watch 'em on the left and I'll take the right with my Bersa Thunder .380, tartanphantom.  :grouchy:   I will not let that little pistol go.  When will people ever learn that quality is not just for guns north of $500?
  25. I can offer in SCOTUS' defense that their rulings in D.C. v. Heller and McDonald v. Chicago gave us victories over deeply entrenched gun suppression.  Although those decisions didn't give us complete freedom as we would like, it did knock the anti-gunners back on their collective tails for a spell.  Perhaps the justices want to give the issue a breather.  Besides, given Chief Justice Roberts' asinine opinion on Obamacare, maybe we should see what the New York gun owners will do with that POS legislation.
