The liberals are opening up another front in the war for your guns. http://www.foxnews.com/politics/2013/08/26/house-dems-seek-to-tax-gun-owners-with-new-bill/

Didn't make much sense to start with. Are you going to stand there all day reading headstamps? What if the range brass is the same brand as the ones you reload? I'm sure the range buys new and tries to make a little off the back end of the business. But it's been my experience that most shooters don't reload anyway so I'm sure they gather enough to make it worthwhile.

Hogwash. The EPA has no regulations concerning picking up brass at shooting ranges. They are more concerned with the disposal of lead, and even then they only issue BMPs (Best Management Practices) to serve as a guide for the collecting and disposal of lead shot, etc. OSHA, through the Department of Health and Human Services, does have laws concerning airborne lead and noise, but not the disposal of range brass. If your range has hard and fast rules about customers sweeping up brass, it's them that are being anal, not the feds. http://www.cdc.gov/niosh/docs/2009-136/pdfs/2009-136.pdf There is a suggestion on Page 18 for range employees collecting brass, but by using the word, "should" instead of "must", you can assume it's only a recommendation.

Drudge says they beat him to death with flashlights. I guess my three-cell MagLite is now considered a hi cap. -

He's a juvey....oh, boo hoo. So he walks when he turns 18? -
This simple, easy-to-make device will help someone who is incapacitated or weak-handed to load and rack their semi-auto. It may not work for your particular pistol, but it might possibly spark some ingenuity for your situation. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NO9VH13pibA

I just put my Henry H0001 through a workout and it didn't let me down. It's also a terrific company with exceptional customer service. I've owned two Ruger 10/22s but Henry puts the fun back into plinking and small animal hunting. It retails locally at $289.

Maryville's Mayor is anti-2nd Amendment
gun sane replied to TNinfidel's topic in 2A Legislation and Politics
Here's an interesting pushback group. Turns out some of the mayors are dirtier than the BGs they claim to oppose. http://www.stopillegalmayors.com/ -
I don't know about the 9mm, but I almost bought some .40 X-Tremes until I saw that they were sized to .400. My gun likes .401. Just picky I guess....

Some mayors stumbled into MAIG unawares, but Taylor is on record as being in lockstep with Bloomberg. Progressives prey on the dumb and dumber. -

Hawes Western Marshal thumb buster in .357 magnum. I used it as part of my costume that I wore while a buddy and I competed in chili cooking contests back in the '70s. It was a real hoot to shoot black powder blanks through.

The Terminators: Rise of the States
gun sane replied to gun sane's topic in 2A Legislation and Politics
Again, Levin is not talking about a constitutional convention. It's representatives of state legislatures convening to propose, debate, vote upon and approve or reject amendments which will have immediate effect upon the constitution. Congress, the president or the Supreme Court have no jurisdiction in this matter. It only requires notification to Congress that the states will convene. If we can't find or trust anyone to assume a leadership position for the people's good, how will we stop this monstrous juggernaut of a socialistic government that we have now, short of rag-tag, disorganized squads of pseudo-militiamen going up against a highly trained, equipped and organized superior force? And who are you going to trust as officers to lead this second revolution? Americans were facing the same dilemma after the Revolutionary War. Only 1/3 of the citizenry actually took part in the fight. The rest were Tories or other sideline sitters. But the framers of the Constitution and government got it done because it HAD to be done. If we call ourselves constitutionalists, why don't we use the Constitution and every available provision left to us before we get into something that will be a lot harder to overcome? -

We got into the mess because those whom we elected got outsmarted and allowed them to ruin the Constitution. Some of you don't go with this amendment strategy because you think they'll outsmart us and ruin the Constitution. So then, where do we go from here to keep them from ruining the Constitution? -

Before we run off into a bunch of speculation about the issue, perhaps it would be good to hear it from Levin himself. He recently spoke to Sean Hannity about it in this two-parter. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bAluXIrsogU http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JAb60gBc-iw -

And just how long will it be before they remove 2A while we sit and wonder what happened to our freedoms? How's that "no taxation without representation" thing working out for us? Are Alexander, Corker and your congressman doing a peachy keen job telling these tyrants to cease and desist? Maybe in front of the cameras. Hell's bells, before we're forced to tattoo numbers into our arms, why not get behind some leaders who are fed up to here with these socialist bastards and fight them with the last legal stopgap provision we have before the fat lady sings? -
Is anybody getting pumped about calling for a States' Constitutional Amendment Convention to defang our runaway government? It is in the power of the states through Article 5 to change the Constitution through a states-initiated amendment process, including term limits for Congress and the Supreme Court. Mark Levin has been voicing this clarion call for the people to petition their state legislatures to get the ball rolling. http://www.humanevents.com/2013/08/15/mark-levins-liberty-amendments/ Here's a rallying point: http://conventionofstates.com/

For his domestic army.....unless, of course, you're the kind of patriot he fears. Here's a very revealing video of a retired Marine colonel who explains why the cities are amassing armored vehicles and other military equipment. http://www.theblaze.com/stories/2013/08/15/is-everybody-blind-city-council-meeting-erupts-in-applause-after-ex-marine-issues-dire-warning-about-u-s-building-a-domestic-army/
