If I hear, "Obamacare is the Law of the Land..." just one more time!  So is immigration enforcement, the national budget, the Second Amendment, and the safeguard of taxpayers' money.  And by the way, just because Prez Zero "won the election," he still is only one-third of the republic--for which he doesn't stand.

There are only two spiritual positions in the Bible:  You either belong to God or you belong to the devil,  just as you are either alive or you are dead.  Where you spend eternity is based upon that relationship at the time of your death.  There is no neutral ground.  God offers grace to everyone to come to Him through the covenant He made with mankind by His Son, Jesus Christ.  You may take it or leave it, but keep in mind that this is the only choice one has.  You belong to the devil by default and your only option is the one which God offers.    Keep in mind that God by definition is sovereign.  He does as He pleases and decides what will happen and when.  We can wonder why God does things or even accuse Him for the things he allows, but he is not looking for our counsel, unless of course we are members of His family and He hears our prayer requests.  He is under no obligation to to bless those outside of His covenant relationship, just as anyone would not be responsible to look out for anyone outside of his family.  But because "God is love," as it says in the Bible, He extends mercy and grace to draw people into relationship with Him, by far the most rewarding association you will ever have or experience.   I'm betting that God has given this perp another opportunity to wise up.  I hope for his sake he takes it.

Lamar tried to slam Cruz with a Tennessee/Texas historical analogy.  He said that Davy Crockett rushed to the Alamo without enough support and met his end.  Sam Houston patiently waited, built an army and whipped Santa Ana.  He predicted that Cruz (Crockett) would get his ass handed to him by trying to defund Obamacare now.  Lamar (Houston) was going to work for a Republican takeover of the Senate and repeal the law.  This sounds noble enough, but Sam Houston didn't negotiate or make deals with Santa Ana....and HE DAMNED SURE WASN'T A COWARD!  (emphasis mine.) 

Not to steal Spots' thunder, but 35 years ago I was teaching scuba diving in a cove at Lake Travis near Austin, Texas.  I saw the imprint of a revolver lying in the mud and brought up a Colt Trooper.  The dive master called the sheriff, who ran the number to see if it was a wanted gun.  It wasn't hot so they let me keep it.  The dive master made me an offer and I accepted.  I thought I got a good trade, but I wish I had the Trooper now.

Ted Cruz in his filibuster against funding Obamacare, just read "Green Eggs and Ham" to the gathered august body of blowhards.  His punchline was perfect:  "I do not like Obamacare with a fox in a box, or with a mouse in the house."  That's putting it on their level.  :rofl:

I'll buy what Krauthamer's saying here.  The feds don't have the manpower--or courage--to go on a gun-hunting expedition.  They'll pass a law banning their sale or possession and give the people 30 days to hand them over.  Anyone caught with one after that suffers the penalty.

  It would be too hard.  They'd have to nix teaching evolution, which is faith-based since it has no scientific evidence to prove its theories.  Plus, any attempt to censor religion from the public or scholastic discourse is merely exalting other religions such as atheism and agnosticism, which are the children of the biggest religion of all--humanism.   And I'll say that true Christianity isn't a religion at all.  It's a relationship.  Religion is man seeking a god.  Christianity is God seeking man.
