Before I started reloading, I kept my Bersas fed with PMC and Magtech. But now for training they have a constant diet of Berry's Bullets. For SD purposes, the Bersa Thunder .380 is loaded with Speer Gold Dots and the Concealed Carry model gets Corbon DPX. The BersaChat website has a forum devoted to ammo tests for the several models and calibers which Bersa offers. It'll load your wagon with info. Here's a link to the .380 threads: http://www.bersachat.com/forums/forumdisplay.php?79-380-Ammo-Tests

Most Libertarians do not identify with the Tea Party

You won't change the country until you change the states. Right here is the principal battleground. We sent Alexander and Corker to speak for us--we may as well have sent Laurel and Hardy. If the states don't take back their sovereign rights, the politicrats will do our picking for us. -

I remember comedian Pat Paulsen, who formed the Straight Talking American Government (STAG) Party. He had a one-plank platform: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FZUEgLNJ6tg -
I've been to Chickamauga and of course Lookout Mountain. I'm glad to see that most of those sites have been preserved. So much of the land has been eaten up by progress. In Knoxville about all that's left is Bleak House, where Gen. Longstreet stayed during the siege and at Campbell Station there's just a tiny museum surrounded by shopping centers. It almost broke my heart when I visited Stones River. I was walking around the cemetery and right across the train tracks some business had put stacks of old mattresses out to blight the mood. Hardly anything is left of Fortress Rosecrans except the mounds. How are future generations going to learn and respect what was done at these places of honor if so much of it is taken over by developments?

Nov.1 is my wedding anniversary. If I don't remember it, lots of things will happen.

I'm working on a batch of .380 now. I put 100-grain Berrys through them with Red Dot and they go were I point 'em. I stay in the mid-range of the load specs and have no problems whatsoever. I don't keep track of the number of times I've used the brass. I just inspect for condition prior to priming. Never had one fail.

I bought the wife a 605 and kept it for a couple of years. The .357 was a little too hard on her so we filled it with .38s. When she got the semi bug we traded it off. No complaints at all about the revolver. Snubs aren't for everyone though.

Of course they were heavy on the Nixon bashing but not a hint of Dear Leader's involvement. I wonder what they'll say when they hear the jackboots at their door.

Many vets are coming home without arms, legs or the hope of good health care and the DoD is trying to decide if they should change their caps? Not for nuthin', but ask the families of fallen heroes if they could use the $8 million more than the hatmakers.
-
Dang! But I'd rather wear a dunce cap than one of these lids.

If Obama gets his way, the Marine nickname of Jarhead is going to take on a new meaning. The prexy-in-chief has decided that the Leathernecks' dress hat should take on a unisex look. No word yet if the rifles will be pink. http://nypost.com/2013/10/23/obama-wants-marines-to-wear-girly-hats/

Well, R.I.P. Mr. Adams. You bought the old Houston Oilers in 1959 and got the first couple of AFL championships. But then there was that long dry spell through the '60s waiting for big Super win, pumping Obamanian sums of money into a team that was always the bridesmaid and never the bride. I was with you during the "Luv Ya, Blue" seasons when it looked like Bum Phillips and Dan Pastorini were finally going to take the Oilers all the way to the altar. Alas, it was not to be. And after that horrible NFL title loss to Buffalo in 1993, when the Bills overcame a 32-point deficit to win 41–38 in the biggest comeback in NFL history, I certainly couldn't blame you for looking to the green hills of Tennessee for some fan comfort. The Oilers had broken my heart too many times for me to protest. You had to change the name and the colors to finally get into that Bowl against the Rams. But dang, who was the idiot who made the field 100 yards long, when 99 should be good enough? But thanks again for the ride, Bud....you'll always be a Titan in my book.

Not only are powwows fun, they're very educational about the first nations people. We used to visit friends of the Dakota tribe a few years back and learned that not only do they have a rich history, they are very patriotic. Most Native Americans serve with honor in the armed forces since it appeals to their warrior traditions and their relationship to the land and its protection. The regalia (don't call them costumes) the dancers wear have significance. Your interest in the designs and decorations may earn you an explanation if you ask about their meaning respectfully. On our very first South Dakota visit years ago, our friends invited us to join them at a memorial gathering for a member of a tribal family who had served in World War 2. They danced and sang songs in the Dakota dialect about his exploits and honest character as a loving husband, father and devoted helper to the community. It is the Dakota tradition to give gifts to those who attend the memorial as a token of their appreciation that you set aside time to come and honor their departed loved one. Imagine our surprise when they called my wife and I to come forward and receive a handmade blanket and another expression of their gratefulness that we attended the service. Through our friend, the family learned we were visiting and wanted to welcome us to their culture. Their kindness was extremely significant because the family was not wealthy, but gave lavishly of what they had. How many of us in the wasichu (white man) culture would do the same?

I've got a ways to go before I empty some powder cans, but I do want to work the stock down to about three basic powders. I'm shooting Red Dot, Accurate No. 7 and Titegroup the most. I did do a little organizing this weekend by installing shelves above my work bench in the man cave. The wife's idea, of course.

Garufa's telling it like it is. Bersa's .22 can be picky. It shot CCI high velocity and Remy GBs with good consistency and occasionally I could get a magazine full Federal Auto Match through it. As I recall, it liked Aguila high velocity, too. Save your other .22 fodder for revolvers, lever and bolt actions, or semis that aren't that choosy.

Well, somebody's gotta help the illegals with their luggage. I've started composing my letter to these august Tennessee statesmen. Something along the lines of, "You've now made your political bed, but remember it's in a hotel room, not a permanent home. Checkout time won't come soon enough." -
How has or will the government shutdown affected you

Like all of you, I'm worried that this will happen if we don't get government back open and raise the debt ceiling: -

Dang! Ya mean it's faked? I guess the only show left on TV that's for real is WWE rasslin'. God help us if that ever goes phoney.
