Get it. I guarantee that if that superb pistol doesn't win your heart, I will personally feel bad about it. :P

With God's children, it's not goodbye.....just see you later. God bless you and yours, daddyo.

Easy for you to say. I'd probably lose the recorder.

WHAT THE HEY!!??? http://www.foxnews.com/health/2014/05/19/toxic-jerky-treats-linked-to-more-than-1000-dog-deaths/ If jerky's killing dogs, what's it doing to us? -
I have one of the Baby Desert Eagle semi compacts in all-steel. It's the absolute best 9mm I've owned. I've also looked over their 1911s, but I'm just not ready to make the leap to .45

Prepper Expo This Weekend Sevierville

The wife and I went this afternoon. One reloading booth must have dropped their prices because I got some primers for under $40/k. Didn't look at the powder as I don't need it. We also got a magnesium fire starter tool, some killer jerky and first aid supplies and information. It was worth the stop if you're in about a 30-mile area. -

How come I see more and more of you guys carrying knives to possible gunfights? -
And then there are Ivy League P.H.D.s who don't know how to work a screwdriver.

Tell you what......you get Columbia to make public B.O.'s student application, record and a list of organizations he belonged to while there and then we'll talk.

Nope....not until horses start betting on people.

If this one is their best and brightest, I'm not worried about them taking over anymore. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_MGG2DhRugY

Don't dismiss the .38 +P loads, or even plain old vanilla .38 HP for home defense. They've saved many a home owners' bacon over the decades they've been around. Easier on the ears, too.

She may have caught it before it went off. Although I did hear a low battery beep in a bedroom sensor prior to going to bed. I just didn't want to mess with it in the dark. A system test ain't a bad idea.

Around 9 o'clock last night the power went out as the wife was heating up some noodles on the stove. It was a rolling blackout or, more likely, some drunken driver hit a pole. Three hours later the juice was still off so there wasn't much to stay up for. I finally drifted off after 30 minutes, but just dozing. At about 2 a.m. I was awakened to the alarming voice of the wife saying, "Oh, my God!.....Oh, my God!" I instinctively knew she wasn't talking to me. Turns out the noodle pot was left on the electric burner. When the power was restored, the water boiled off and the noodles started to burn. Smoke filled the kitchen pretty quickly and she just happened to wake up at the right time. As it says in the Psalms, "He who watches over Israel will neither slumber nor sleep." I'm thankful that He kept an eye peeled on our house, too.

You would have liked his opposition to a government welfare system, too. http://www.101bananas.com/library2/crockett.html

Walt Disney, that's who! I had to drive up near the pointer on Tennessee's map today and saw a sign luring tourists to visit the birthplace of Davy Crockett. I decided to stop in, just to see if he was "born on a mountaintop in Tennessee," like the song goes. NOT!!!! He was born in a valley on the banks of the Nolichucky River in Greene County. I mean, the nearest mountain is over a mile from that place. It's located in Davy Crockett State Park....evidently his parents named Davy after the park so they wouldn't have to pay rent. This really cuts me to the quick.....I squandered two bucks back in the 50s for a stinkin' Davy coonskin cap that shed hair all over me after about a week. And the plastic replica of Ol' Betsy that fired Greenie Stick 'em caps started splittin' right up the middle after just a few swings and pops on my buddies' heads while playing Defend the Alamo. But I never figured that Walt Disney would lie to us. But you tell me......does Fess Parker look anything like this? He looks more like my third grade teacher, Mrs. Grundy. It's a wonder the Mexicans didn't let him leave the Alamo with the rest of the women, for cryin' out loud. I really don't know how long it's gonna take for me to get over this. I'm even beginning to suspect that Disney's stupid submarine didn't go down 20,000 leagues under the sea after all.

He always delivered a Top A performance. I still like seeing him in "Requiem for a Heavyweight" alongside Anthony Quinn and Jackie Gleason.

My Civil War Rifle odyssey (UPDATE AT BOTTOM)
gun sane replied to a topic in Curio, Relics and Black Powder
That's great news, Tanker......not many people get the same treatment by experts. This should make your prize all the more valuable. Of course, you still may want to cut 'er down and make a sporter out of it. :D -
My laptop is W7 and my only complaints has to do with the machine itself, not the software. I've got XP on my desktop, so I'll probably just look at a W7 upgrade to make them similar. The wife has an Ipad and loves it.....I can't stand the darned thing.

XP users have been getting a lot of nag popups warning that their OS is going the way of the dodo bird. Microsoft is now leading us into the squeeze chute for Windows 8.1, which I am told is a marvel for computers with touch screens. Others say it's about as friendly as Vista and shingles. Should we listen to the doomsday geeks and upgrade or keep on crunching with XP without tech support? What's out there that promises better days?

In the near future, "Smith" will be dropped from the company name. The Wesson moniker is expected to continue with perhaps another name joining the title. An April Fool's joke maybe? http://www.guns.com/2014/04/01/smith-wesson-drop-smith-company-name/

Silver Stacking & Other Precious Metals
gun sane replied to Wills's topic in Survival and Preparedness
We didn't mess with the gold rush.....too big to trade for everyday things. Silver and ammo will do and any skills you have that would be in demand.
