  1. I'll wait for Hi-Standard and Weatherby to get into the Micro 9 game.
  2. I've always been a stickler for keeping guns tidy and preventing carbon buildup. As I recall, the gun was tighter than a Bill Clinton alibi. My suspicion was that heat expansion between the cylinder and barrel could have jammed it up, but I would think a S&W QA inspector would have caught that. I probably would have sold it off eventually because of the economic downturn of the period. I said goodbye to a lot of treasures then: a Colt Python, a Belgian-made Hi Power and a S&W Model 19, to name a few.
  3. I wish the feds would let you have as many pounds of powder as there are pounds of powder regulations.
  4. The only trouble I recall with S&W happened in the late '70s after they introduced the Model 63 kit gun in stainless steel. The cylinder would lock up after the second or third reload. I sent it back and Smith returned it about a month later. Same problem. I sold my troubles off to some other guy, who no doubt has a valuable classic on his hands.
  5. What? No trigger safety? You'll shoot your eye out, kid!
  6. I wondered if there would be a shorter repair turnaround for locals when the new factory got built in my hometown. I couldn't get a straight answer from area gun stores so perhaps that idea is about as farfetched as dumpster diving for parts.
  7. How in blue blazes did so much torque get on a fastener that was meant to be removed anyway? It may be the fault of a disgruntled S&W worker who didn't make the cut for the move to Tennessee, but that sort of blame gaming only divides the country further. May the good Lord give you wisdom in making this thing right, but count me in for any petition, boycott or other saber-rattling tactic that you may want to throw first.
  8. Mea culpa for the infraction. Just an ominous warning to CSX 9mm buyers that five minutes later the 30SC version could be available.
  9. I stand corrected. The EZ model has been announced. NEW 30 Super Carry Shield EZ from Smith & Wesson ⋆ Primer Peak
  10. Beats me. S&W's lips are pretty tight on this. I really don't care if it throws a bullet at Mach 2 and guarantees a bullseye. I'm settled on 9s.
  11. Now in 30 Super Carry? I still ain't budgin'.
  12. Until I decide between my Glock 26 and the Shield Plus, I'll have to say my S&W 638.
  13. The CDC now recommends that police officers protect their duty ammo from Covid contamination by leaving their service weapon empty and putting only one round into their shirt pocket for emergencies.
  14. Being a happy new owner of the Shield Plus, this sneak peek of the CSX did give me pause. Did I buy too early? But now that more details, including videos are out, I'm patting my Plus with pride and saying "meh" to the fanfare. I hope it sells, but you won't see me at the head of the line.
  15. I'd guesstimate DA at 12-13 lbs; SA at just over 4. It has a short reset and second-strike capability. Because the slide runs inside the frame rather than outside, it has a low bore axis which further reduces recoil. I'm not familiar with Cajun Gun Works, but I believe IWI used Tanfoglio parts. Trigger kits should be all over the internet.
  16. This Magnum Research Desert Baby Eagle II Semi-Compact (BE9915RS) with 3.93" barrel only has about 300 rounds through it. Made in Israel by IWI after the CZ-75 pattern, its all-steel frame dampens recoil and is amazingly accurate. There are a few doofus scratches around the slide catch pin hole but aren't visible after assembly. Otherwise, the pistol is a beauty. It comes with three 15-round mags in a plastic case with cleaning kit. $475 with no trades.
