Has any of y'all had any experience with these weapons. I am in the market for a back up pistol to carry on my ankle or concealed during the warmer months. I spent all my money on my main carry Sig and don't want to put out a bunch more (wife will use it on me). So I'm looking for a reasonable priced gun that I can trust to go bang when I pull the trigger. I will be carrying it as back up on duty as well. I know there are better guns and I can save for months to get one, but I am more of a need it now, although tight with my money type person. Just some opinions from you guys and possibly someone that has or had one in the past. The reviews are good and are equivalent to most "mouse" guns.

Pretty ingenious idea, however I have the mounting "whooped" just need a way to turn it on. As is I have to hold my rifle down towards the ground, twist the maglite body to get it to come on and then try and get a bead on a hog. It doesn't take much effort to do that, however these hogs are already on high alert and I do not want to waste any more time than I have to in acquiring my sight picture

I built a lower with one of these. Seems to be a decent lower and if I needed one I wouldn't hesitate to get another.

I've seen those, however I've read a few places that it doesn't work with the (3) AA version like mine

I have seen them online and whatnot but by the time I pay shipping and all its just not worth it. I used the maglite 1 because it fit and 2 because i had it laying around so I thought what the heck I'll try to modify it, just didn't realize how tough it would be. I even thought of making one, found some on instructables, but again by the time I buy all the stuff to do it, its just not worth the effort

Ok before all the snickering starts I'll get this out in the beginning. I'm CHEAP plus I'm a major tinkerer so with that said I was wondering if anyone has modded a 3 AA LED maglite with a remote pressure switch. I bought an offset light mount for my S&W M&P15 and can't find a conventional LED flashlight to fit. The maglite head fits perfect so I thought what the heck I'll try it. Its awkward to turn it on due to the twisting motion. I do not need a "set the sun on fire" bright light, just something that will cast a direct beam 50yrds or less to spot wild hogs. So nothing special.

S&W M&P 15 Sport suggested riser height?
Andyshowfan posted a topic in Firearms Gear and Accessories
I have an out of the box S&W M&P15 sport with a magpul folding mbus rear sight and an adjustable A2 front sight. What would y'all recommend on riser height for mounting either a red dot or conventional scope? Thanks -

Terrorists couldn't unholster MIT cop's gun
Andyshowfan replied to a topic in 2A Legislation and Politics
We're issued the Safariland level III holster. You really have to practice with it to get fluid with drawing your weapon. My belt is velcro the full length of it and my duty belt "adheres" to it and along with 4 belt keepers, I believe it would be very difficult to get the entire belt off. Someone without specific knowledge of how this holster works would be very aggravated trying to get it out, especially in their state of mind at the time. -
I have the sp2022 in .40 and I love it!

Here is a transcript of a reply I recently received from an armslist user on a gun I recently sold....................all I can say is just "WOW" (after being a bit of a smart a**) Responder: That [misspelled brand name pistol] has sever wear on the mag follower and the old style barrel and not worth $200. It is a jam o matic from the pictures you submit. Me: Appreciate your expert advice. I would have hated it if you were to have bought it. Sharp eye sir Responder: I am sure you will hustle it off to some ni**er felon to be used down on Magnolia Ave in Knoxville. Me: See that is where you are wrong. first of all I'm very careful as to who I sell to although I don't do background checks I do require either your license or your hcp listed on the bill of sale. Instead of worrying with me why don't you go ahead and bother the guys that are buying 800 dollar Walmart ar type rifles and listing them for 1600 dollars Responder: There are not selling NI**ER guns that end up on the street. Ni**ers are not smart enough to operate an AR-15. I will just flag your ad as a SCAM and OVER-PRICED with many others until it is removed. We just don't tolerate you price gouging Baptist sister and daughter f*****g bastards

I hear ya David, I've sold here before as well and have had nothing but great experiences. I feel somewhat guilty by not selling on here, but I'll offer somewhat of an explanation. The wife and I are working on Dave Ramsey's "Financial Peace University" and sad to say our list of priority payments has TGO benefactor status as well as other non essentials falling below the "line" or else I would've paid again for the benefactor and sold on here. Not offering up a pity party just putting it out there that I love TGO and am not a cheapskate :)

I am not so sure it is a user. I think their "programming" picks up on keywords and flags automatically. I sent a question about it 2 wks ago and only got a automatically generated "thanks we take all concerns seriously yada yada yada" email and havent heard from them since

Is it just me or has all categories but firearms disappeared on armslist. I went to place an firearm accessory ad and there wer no category for anything but guns. Oh and do not get me started on craigslist, I tried to place this same item on there and it was flagged before I even got the confirmation email. I will not go into detail as to what it is other than it wasn't a gun or any type of gun part. I also tried putting an ad on there for an item I legally own, bought and paid for at a major retailer and it to got flagged just as quick only because you can no longer go to walmart and purchase it and have to go through the service provider. D@#$! Liberal h@%&#*&^t. Ok I'm done with my ranting

I have never been asked, nor do I believe anyone has noticed, but if I were asked I would hope I would just be honest with them and tell them "it is my handgun and I'm legal to carry it on my person and I am in an establishment that allows for me to carry" I believe if I were to tell them NOYB or F'off then it paints a poor picture of the law abiding, 2nd amendment believing individual that I believe myself to be.

kinda figured that, Thanks!

Update with new question. I have had many great replies on what I need, one being a powder scale. I was lucky enough to win $40 bucks on a $2 scratch off today so I have some folding money burning a hole in my pocket. As far as scales go, do I need an actual scale, would a powder thrower work or do I need both?

I am never ashamed to ask for help if I'm unsure of how to do something. I learn more with "hands on" than with anything else, but always want as much info as I can possibly retain in my head :)
