  1. First It's Memorial Day weekend and I wanted to thank all the men and women who died for our country! Next who has a great Rib recipe? I usually just get a dry rub from Sticky Fingers then Cook the ribs in the oven and finish them off with BBQ sauce on the Grill. I know there's a better way let's hear it!
  2. I took a cheap Uncle Mikes holster and zip tied it to my Seat frame between my seat and the center console. Handle facing up and muzzle pointing to the rear of the car. It allows easy access and does not show when you walk by and look in, like the Sidekick would. I can put a Sub compact all the way to a fullsize. Over all it works nice. I'll try and snap a few pictures when the monsoon lets up.
  3. When I called Glock they were super nice. They said If I sent a gun in they have to completely inspect and replace all warn parts for Liability reasons. I'm sure the barrel you receive will be like new. They wouldn't risk sending you a borderline barrel and then getting sued over a $125 part.
  4. Smarter than Deer? I've always heard if a Turkey could smell 1/2 as good as deer you would never kill them. Some days Turkey hunting is impossible but if you keep at it you will find a "suicidal" bird he will come in no matter what you sound like. I'm also hoping with the 5 days of sun coming up they will break loose!! Here in SE TN we've not have 4-5 days of good sun. I'm taking a friend this weekend he's never been turkey hunting. Hopefully we can get on one and at least work him a little.
  5. Everyone i've talked to is having problems, either closing the deal, not hearing birds or the birds aren't interested. I've been here in TN where I hear birds every year and there just not there or not vocal. Maybe it'll get better! Went to KY last weekend and they were blowing the woods down. They were hened up mid morning on, but first thing in the morning they were all alone and we killed both mornings.
  6. Thanks for the tip.
  7. WOW $17 per acre for a lease in Tennessee? We pay $10 per acre in Kentucky and I thought that was high. Is that the going rate in west Tennessee? Here in South East Tennessee I expect about $5-$7 per acre. This site has leases but not any in Tennessee http://www.basecampleasing.com/ has leases in other states.
  8. Be careful once you call a bird in you will be hooked. I practice on the way to work or any time I’m in the car alone. My wife put a stop to that in the house. Practice calling softly I don’t worry about knowing every type of sound a turkey can make just constrate on the most common. Cluck, yep, purr, ect…. Went you find a lonely gobbler he'll respond to just about anything. In the videos they come in and stand around and strut. That probably won’t happen that often if you get a shot take it!! When you find a mouth call you like buy a few and don't worry about throwing them away during the season. I always get a sore throat if I use one to long.
  9. Can you really walk up and buy from Natchez?
  10. I think they will first "attack" us in a different way. Ammo?
  11. I don't have a tin foil hat but I put one of them on "Lay away" just to be safe. LOL I guess i'll wait 6 or 7 days.
  12. Congratulations!!
  13. I found this (2) Later, by regulations, the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms (BATF) began requiring licensed firearms dealers to file "Multiple Purchase Reporting Forms" with the agency to document the sale, to an individual, of more than one handgun in a 30-day period. link http://www.nraila.org//Issues/FactSheets/Read.aspx?ID=58
  14. I was going to buy 2 handgun here in the great state of Tennessee my FFL told me he has to notify the sheriff and send a form to ATF. Is that true? Will I be on the naughty list?
  15. Thanks It shoots ok at 100yrds just like it is. It would shoot better if I could shoot better LOL. It was <1 inch groups. I wanted to change the stock to Camo for looks, I've had it about 5 years and just want a different look. I'll check for Barrel contact also. Just run a Dollar bill under it to check for contact? Any one ever use a Meadlisst stock?
