Hi all, I received a Colt Mustang Pocketlite for Christmas this year. Fantastic little gun except for one thing... The sights. I'm looking to have someone put new sights on it for me, but I'm not quite sure what to get or what options are out there. Some Googling has led me to Novak and XS Sights, and I'm liking the XS Big Dot. Have any of you replaced your sights, and what did you replace them with? I am planning on this gun being my daily carry, FWIW. Brandon

Is reloading not worth it on the common pistol cartridges?
NeveSSL replied to NeveSSL's topic in Ammunition and Reloading
I think that probably goes for any hobby. :) I've been researching and checking on what people have had success with and the processes they use to reload, and will continue to do so, plus get with my father-in-law as he has been reloading for 40 years, but has always done single stage. I suspect he may want a classic turret of his own once he sees mine. Haha! Brandon -

I was thinking the same thing. I can't buy anything else right now, anyway. Haha! Brandon -

Pulled the trigger this morning on the classic turret press. :) Thanks, again, for all of the replies! Brandon -
Good points... yes, this was an indoor range where they sweep up the brass and keep it... and they seemed to sweep a little more frequently after I started picking mine up. I will continue to pick my own brass up, for sure. Other ranges, such as Stones River, you're expected to cleanup after yourself. I think I should shoot there more often. haha. Brandon

Thanks, James! I may take you up on that just to see it in action and get a better idea of how it works and how you have yours setup. Brandon -

Thanks for all of the replies, guys. You've given me quite a bit to think about and I appreciate all of the replies. I just checked Amazon and they have the Lee Classic Turret press for $99... And my sister sent me an Amazon gift card for my birthday... I might just give it a try. :) Brandon -

Thanks for all of the replies, guys. I'm interested in shooting competitively, but not sure I will be able to, so I'll cross that bridge when I get there and for now will hold off on reloading. :) Brandon -

Thanks for the reply! That's along the same lines I was thinking. Brandon -
Hi all, Perhaps I'm missing something, but it seems as though buying common calibers in bulk is cheaper than even reloading. To be fair, I only checked .45 and .380 as those are the two I shoot most often, but I wanted to post on here and make sure I'm not missing something. Is there more to gain by reloading rifle vs pistol, too? I'm just thinking of getting the most bang for your buck on target rounds, I should probably add. Am I missing something? Was looking at getting a Lee Turret press to get started reloading, but it looks like I might be better off buying a case of ammo for .45 and .380, anyway. :) Brandon

It seems to me they could use an upgrade... And when you hand your current safe down to them, you'll have a good reason to buy a larger one. :D Brandon

I need to figure out where to put it so I know how much space I'll have. Brandon

So how many of you guys have a home security system to go along with your safe? Just a thought. :) Thanks for all of the replies! Brandon

Out of curiosity, what would that be? Personally, I'm digging the Brownings with long gun storage on the door and good fire ratings for a decent price. Brandon

That video was incredibly helpful! Thanks for sharing, Runco. Brandon

My bad. I should have searched better for a thread before posting. Thanks for posting a link to that thread. I'll check the video out and read through the thread, too. Brandon

Awesome! I just found their website a little bit ago and thought it looked like a great place to check out. Thanks for the tip. Brandon

Hi all, My wife and I are looking at getting a gun safe fairly soon. Our collection so far is all guns that have been given to us by our family members (dads, father in laws, and grandparents) and we would like to protect those the best we can from fire and theft. So it's time. :) I've found a website that seems to talk about the nitty gritty of buying safes: http://gunsafereviewsguy.com/buyers-guide/best-gun-safe/ Seems like an honest site, but I wanted to get your guy's opinions, too. I am looking to spend maybe around $2,000 for 24 guns or so, so nothing too big. I'm looking for good fire ratings and thick steel more than anything. What's the point of a safe if it doesn't protect, right? :) What are you guys using and why did you choose them? Right now, I'm looking pretty hard at Sturdy Safe. They're ugly, but very well regarded in protection as far as I can tell. Also, if this is in the wrong place on the forum, please move it. I went through the list a couple of times and didn't see anywhere else that it seemed like this subject fit better. Brandon

That will not be an issue. :) I am sorry to hear of your father's passing. We have worked through the issues of the past. I made sure to do that as soon as I could, and it went very well. There wasn't too much between us to begin with, which was helpful. I hadn't known him due to him stepping back when my step dad adopted me. We didn't have a relationship because everyone at that time was doing what they all felt was best for me. That's about as good as that situation can be. Me, too! I think I need a matching 226. :) Brandon

Agreed! :) Brandon

Believe me, I will. This gun has a bit of a story behind it... I just really started getting to know my dad back in May (I'm 30), and we started because I found out he had been diagnosed with ALS. We are trying to make the most of what time he has left. The fun thing is that I am virtually his clone in many, many ways. I am also getting to know my two sisters through this process. All of the guns I currently own have come from a grandfather, my great-grandfather, my father-in-law, and my father. None of them will ever be sold. Brandon

Finally got to take it to the range yesterday with a neighbor. My dad gave me his Sig 1911 C3. Absolutely awesome pistol. I am new to pistols, but this one is a dream to shoot. https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/48650659/Shooting/20151003_163531.mp4 Really grateful for this weapon. But now I need more. :D Brandon
