  1. Dave, you may have already gone this route, but check the Traders Post & classifieds of that manner. You can find some good deals there sometimes. As for the ramp, I added a ramp to mine, and bolted it onto the trailer so it's removable. Don't know if you could modify or want to. Just a thought. Good luck....
  2. Greg, two fine looking young lads you got there. Looks like they've got a fine Dad as well. Thanks for introducing them to the gun world.
  3. Hey, it don't have to be fancy, pretty, or expensive. If it works it works.
  4. Derek, here's a link to a thread some time back with several bench photos. Maybe you can get some ideas from there. Go to the top right of a page & use the SEARCH bar, type in reloading bench photos. There are several threads on this. That's where I came up with the link. Good luck, http://www.tngunowners.com/forums/ammunition-reloading/17748-reloading-bench-photos.html Edited to add, I made mine, but might be a bit too large for your space. As another poster said, don't put your reloading supplies outside, even in a storage building. Powder, primers, reloading equipment need to be away from moisture & temp. extremes. Press itself might be ok if sprayed down with WD40 or something. Mine is a bit heavy to carry around.
  5. Well, FWIW, to the good folks that wasted a trip to see a show, RK has pulled this stunt twice before that I personally know of. Once in Smyrna & once in Gallatin. I read the ads, etc, went to each show, no one there, except a few others like myself....quite unhappy I might add. I e-mailed RK after the Smyrna debacle, got a response, but not much of an explanation. These people really don't give a flip about the customer.
  6. Where did you see this show advertised? I haven't seen it on the web. Was it in the paper? Next scheduled show in Hendersonville is the last of Jan. 2012.
  7. It basically hit the right side of his face & head. Very fortunate indeed. Again, thanks so much to everyone for all the well wishes & kind words.
  8. Well, you're absolutely right. I'm a Mod on CoachT.com, a high school sports forum. Folks just don't read the rules, or really don't care. Mods can't be everywhere all the time. Click on Report & help keep this board clean. Not as easy as it looks. You guys do a good job on this board. Thanks!
  9. Yeah, it was great to get to visit with Cooley yesterday & meet you as well. He's doing great, all things considered. Good attitude, as expected. Sense of humor still here. I told him some people will do anything to get off 3rd shift. LOL He agreed & laughed. The caravan escort was just awesome. Saw it go by my house on Hwy 231. The outpouring of support from all the surrounding counties is phenomenal. He still has quite a bit of medical issues to deal with, but he'll be fine. I miss hearing him on the radio in the AM when I'm heading into work. Get well soon & hurry back, 805. We all miss you.
  10. If you live in a 5 mi radius of Lebanon, few extra bucks in the pocket, and absolutely nothing else to do, then consider it. Otherwise, not worth the effort. Very small show, smaller than Goodmans, lot of non-gunstuff.
  11. FWIW, you didn't mention whether yours will hold zero. Wouldn't go making changes on mine until I had a problem. Who knows what caused his problem. Could have been his installation, etc. Just saying....
  12. OK, thanks for the info. I know you travel around to the shows more than most on here. Maybe I can scrounge up enough dough to get up there & make a weekend of it.
  13. How many tables there are in use, on average? Never been to that one. Knoxville is a 3 hr drive for me. Might be worth a trip on occasion.
  14. I used to go up there years ago. Heck of a show back then. About a 2.5 - 3 hr drive for me. Had to stand in line for quite a while. Just got to be more than I wanted to do. Hope you enjoy the show. Sure someone on here has been lately with better info.
  15. What's happened to the shows in the 'Boro? Checked the TN listings & RK's site, no new shows listed. All the next shows into 2012 are for Hendersonville. Not necessarily a bad thing, we're overloaded with shows anyway. Just curious.
  16. I stopped by the Dept. this AM, & spoke with the Sheriff & Chief Dep. They said Cooley made it thru the night pretty well. Has quite a bit of drainage from the wounds. He can squeeze your hand when you talk to him, according to the Chief. Best news....he survived. Difficult road ahead at best. He's young & tough. A big thanks to everyone for all the well wishes. Know he'll appreciate it.
  17. Thanks, Verne, for the update. Strange that we were training on this senario just a few weeks ago. Harold's going to have a rough road in more ways than one. He'll be OK, has to!!
  18. One of my fellow officers, was seriously wounded on a domestic call early this AM. Sgt. Harold Cooley & another Deputy answered a domestic call after Midnight. The male subject shot Sgt. Cooley in the face with a 12ga shotgun at close range. The male subject was also wounded by Sgt Cooley as he fired his AR. Both were taken to Vanderbilt in critical condition. Sgt. Cooley is a great guy & officer. Keep him in your prayers. I spoke with a senior officer this AM, and he said he lost one eye & ear, and pretty much one side of his face. Sickening! http://www.newschannel5.com/story/16187425/sheriffs-deputy-shot-in-face-in-trousdale-county
  19. Read that in the paper this AM. Not sure what Bob's motive is here. He claims to be absolute 2nd Amend., but then he makes this exception. Maybe he has a beef with Some of the gun show operators, who knows. Of course, he had a very receptive audience in the Tennessean. Everybody knows this so called loophole isn't the problem. Hoodlums will get their guns illegally regardless. There is no difference, other than convenience, of selling at a gun show, or in your own back yard. Both are legal as long as you're not in the business of dealing. Certainly didn't help our cause, especially on the heels of the DUI w/ gun of one of our elected Reps. Gonna be a tough sell for new gun laws in our favor this term, if this crap continues.
  20. An unloaded gun is no better than a rock. I unload mine for cleaning or showing to someone else. The rest of the time, I want it ready for use.
  21. Goes back to the old saying, "Id rather be tried by 12, than carried by 6". Being legal & dead is not a good option.
  22. Dave, I'm in your camp. Won't be back until they drop the parking fee (tax). Plus Goodmans show isn't worth $8. Way too small for that charge.
  23. That's true. Could have been hunting both, who knows at this point. I was just pointing out what the law is regarding orange/big game, FWIW. Maybe we can get an update when the investigation gets further along. Senseless tragedy regardless.
  24. From TWRA website: Fluorescent "Blaze" Orange Requirements Hunters must wear on the upper portion of their body and head a minimum of 500-square inches of daylight fluorescent orange (blaze orange), visible front and back, while hunting big game except on archery-only and turkey hunts. (A hat and vest fulfills requirements.) Blaze orange camo is legal if it contains 500 square inches of fluorescent orange. In those areas where the archery-only deer season dates overlap with another big game gun season (i. e. bear or boar), archers are required to wear 500 square inches of daylight fluorescent orange (TCA-70-4-124).
  25. No direct experience with these to speak from, but can't see a problem.
