  1. Two sides to every story. I'll wait for the final tally. Lot of the fault lies with Walmart for not enforcing their own rule on 20 items. Reason being, as I've been told by Walmart cashiers, they don't want to piss off the customer with the big carts. Ok to tick off everyone else I guess. If you're going to have this rule, enforce it, otherwise take it down, make all lanes the same.
  2. Went to the show this AM. Better show than the last one.IMO. Parking is free, gun to junk ratio about as usual at a show. Worth a reasonable drive. Wouldn't cross any state lines to get there tho. LOL
  3. Anybody that falls for that likely won't make it to the polls anyway without help.

    why a Glock?

Buy what fits you, what you shoot well, forget the cool factor. Cool won't save your hide. I use a Glock...issued..otherwise wouldn't own another. Just doesn't fit me well...somewhat like a brick as another poster said. If you have access, go to a gun store or range, rent a few & try 'em on. Go from there.
  5. I'll agree, the "tacti-cool" crap has gotten way out of hand. Most will never see actual use, even if it doesn't fall apart. But, I guess, if the wife & kids are getting fed & you've got $$$ burning a hole in your pocket, go for it. Helps the economy, I suppose.
  6. Never like the African-American, Italian-Anerican, or any other hyphenated citizenship. You're either one or the other. Pick one & go with it, not both. JMHO And, yes, Al Gore is a white Jesse Jackson. Show up on anything where there is a sound bite.
  7. Good to hear. That should help. Last time, the dealers/tables were about half from the initial show. Too many non gun related items...gutter guard, etc.I know somebody has to pay the fiddler, but that's way off the mark. Anyway, enjoy the trip to KC.
  8. Anyone going to make the leap?
  9. Or, never go in a closet with a loaded firearm. This dunce was an accident looking for a place to happen. Found one.
  10. Don't have a dog in this hunt, but sounds fair enough to me. JMHO
  11. Remember, once you "hack", you can't go back. I'd invest in another barrel of the length you want.
  12. It was rather crowded today for a Sunday. Had to wait in line for a while to fondle some guns. Did get to talk to dlm for a few. May take my XDm to Hendersonville next time & see if I can sell it. Got my eye on a Walther PPQ.
  13. Saw the exact same gun today at the gun show with two dealers. Price at one dealer was $549, the other dealer was $659. Also saw one with a ew price tag, that had obvious wear near the extractor. Didn't mention about being used or fired. Buyer beware. Shop around.
  14. There was supposed to be a boat & fishing show there as well. How was the parking? Any room in the lot? Might make it tomorrow if I don't have to walk a mile in the cold.

    Your First Car!

'56 Ford Crown Victoria, black, chrome across the top, inside & out, 312ci Thunderbird V8,4bbl. auto trans. Running son of a gun. Man, wish I still had that car!
  16. Not really thrilled with any of the GOP candidates. Right now, the wife & I are both leaning toward Santorum. Regardless, it's ABO all the way.
  17. I put a Ghost 3.5 connector in a Glock 22 I had. Worked really well. No issues.
  18. I've been carrying a Taurus PT709 Slim, 9mm, in my TruSpec pants pocket, in a Blackhawk pocket holster I got at Wally World, for $10, for quite a while now. Works well, I forget it's there. Pockets are very roomy. Gun doesn't cost an arm & leg, shoots well. Very satisfied with the setup. Doesn't fit with most jeans tho. I have a Crossbreed Super Tuck for those type pants.
  19. The old version, when signing in, I could type in my user name, tab to password, with "remember me" checked, and it would automatically fill in the password & log in. New verision requires to type in the password. The "remember me" feature seems to not be working. Thanks, Larry
  20. Can't really give an educated answer to that. Does seem a bit pricey though. On the other hand, I believe I had to give about $40 for mags for my XDm. Factory mags will usually run more. Congrats on the Walther. Great guns. Thinking seriously about a P99 myself. Are you at Ft. Campbell?
  21. Wonder if this is happening more, or just reported more. See a lot more of this showing up on forums lately.
  22. Well, I made the show this AM. Really enjoyed it for a change. Finally got to fondle a Walther P99 I've kinda got a hankerin' for. May end up trying to sell my XDm 40 & buy one. Talked to a couple of gents in the concession area for a while. Enjoyed that as well. Place was packed, barely room to get thru the aisles. Saw a lot of guns being toted around by private folks. Didn't see much money trading hands though. Hung around until about 1:30, was worn out & headed for home. All in all, I thought it was good, better than usual. JMHO
  23. Amen, brother. I always thank 'em for asking. LOL
  24. Been there each time, started out good, since has fallen off considerably, size wise. Unless it gets back on track, I likely won't be back to the H'ville show. Just not worth the trip, and admission for me. Admission is $10, free parking. JMHO
