  1. Folks, we must not, under any circumstances, underestimate the importance of this election. Conservatives must get a strangle hold on Congress, but even with that, look at the circles Obama has run around Congress & the Constitution already. Should he return for another 4yrs., this country will be a shambles. The Supreme Court balance can tip in his favor & will not be undone for years to come. We need to quit whining ( self included ), and get this fool out of office, regain control of both houses in DC. We cannot afford to lose this election.
  2. That pretty well sums it up. Just depends on the so called victim. A crime is a crime. Just let it go at that.
  3. I'm surprised this fool has survived as long as he has. But, some of these types just seem to lead a charmed life.
  4. Thanks, I think I'll get a couple of boxes (100 ), and give it try in my PPQ 40. From what I've read, it's supposed to feed smoother than brass. Reloading life may be a bit shorter due to being a bit stiffer, but not a deal breaker. Saw some at Guns & Leather in Greenbrier for $16 / 50. Cheaper than the regular UMC, Usually around $20+. I'm sure it's more accurate than me, Most everything is, LOL
  5. Can't really see how Santorum saddled us with Romney. Have voters to blame for that. Regardless, this is the pony'we have left to ride. I'm not fond of it either, but might as well saddle up & leave Obama in the trail dust.
  6. I register things I buy online if possible or send in the card. Sometimes my receipt gets lost, reg. comes in handy, just in case. The Feds can find out what you have if they really want. Not paranoid, just fact. you may have noticed they change the rules & their interpretation of the constitution as they see fit.
  7. Anyone tried this ammo? Been seeing some ads for this & seems to be a bit cheaper than the standard UMC ammo. Just wondering how it functions & how it works with reloading. My stock is getting a bit low, & I'm going to have to buy more soon. LIke the way this ammo sounds, but haven't seen any reviews.
  8. I'd heard about this little gun, but the first photo I've seen. Good looking gun. No doubt they'll sell well. Seems like the manuf. are jumping on this bandwagon. The external safety is something I can take or leave. Just something you get used to if there is one. Like the grip safety that was on the XDm I had. Never saw the point in it & not fond of it, but wasn't a problem. Be interesting to see what the price will be on this little gun.
  9. If I didn't have money invested in the standard ( corn cob, walnut ) media, I would definitely go with the stainless set up. From what I read, it's great.
  10. Could you expalin what being a Vietnam vet had to do with the situation. Being a 'Nam vet myself, just curious.
  11. It is thicker. Just depends on your particular needs. Both are great in their own right. Can't go wrong with either. Go for it. Just be prepared to do some serious grinnin'. FWIW, I made my first trip to Guns & Leather in Greenbrier today. Lots of guns in that store. Did come away with a LULA for the AR & a bottle of Militec-1. They do have some PPQs in stock, 9 & 40.
  12. Got a PPQ in 40 a couple of weeks ago. Absolutely love it! Everyone that has laid hands on it says the same. If you get a chance to fondle one, or better yet shoot one, you're hooked. Kinda hard to find right now. New model, going fast. From what I hear on the Walther forum, the First Edition is even harder to come by. Lots of good info on the Walther forum. If you're leaning toward anything Walther, check it out.
  13. I like the looks of the N8. Different design from the rest on the market. As for being a bit hard to re-holster, are these not reinforced at the top? Hard to tell by their photo. Doesn't appear to be. Looks like all leather holding the gun, except for the Professional model, which is plastic. Having to give the gun a twist on the plastic model, kinda bothers me a bit. LIkely would be ok once you got it into muscle memory. I'd like to try one out with my Walther PPQ, before buying.
  14. Last report I heard, he hadn't been charged with any crime as yet. No need for a trial until then. The media and serial protesters have had a field day with this, as usual. Let it play itself out & go from there. Think I'll wait before I pass judgment.
  15. That's about 35 - 40 mi. from me. This is the Great Amer. Gun & Knife show. I'll pass.
  16. Probably a good idea. Wouldn't be the first time RK had their schedules screwed up. I've shown up a couple of times myself when no one was home. This bunch sometimes just makes my butt want a dip of snuff. LOL Thanks, Will
  17. Just to second what SkyKing said, if it was not for John Harris & TFA, we would be in sad shape. Anyone who thinks otherwise, is misinformed. Right now, with Haslam, Harwell & others, at the helm, it's an uphill battle. But, then, that's not new.
  18. Update on the RK Murfreesboro show......Just checked the TN gun show list, It now shows a listing for Apr. 21 & 22 @ the Mid Tenn Expo Center on 1200 PArk Ave. Same site as before. Guess they got whatever issue they had, resolved.
  19. Had a guy (?) in our Chancery Crt. a month or so ago, changed his/her name from Eric, to Erin. As you might imagine, it got a lot of attention & raised eyebrows in the courthouse.
  20. FWIW, I used Firefox on mine.
  21. Gerry Spence, who was Randy Weavers Def. Atty. in the case, wrote a book on Ruby Ridge. Good reading on the case & the way the Feds mishandled the whole affair. Absolute disgrace to this country. Waco was another case in point, where the Feds wanted to put on a show of who's boss. We all knopw how that went down. These two events were what set Timothy McVeigh off. While I certainly don't condone what he did to a lot of innocent folks, I can understand his frustrations.
  22. You don't need a reason. All you need is money. LOL
  23. If anyone thinks the Feds won't do something like this, read the story of "Ruby Ridge" about how the Gov. entrapped Randy Weaver, then ended up killing his wife & son, wounding others. This in the Bill Clinton/Janet Reno era. Makes my blood boil everytime I think about that. Compare Clinton-Reno to Obama-Holder. No difference.

    Walther PPQ

I had an old school P99 myself. Great gun. If you like the P99, you'll love the PPQ. Just took a good gun & made it much better.

Two very good videos on the PPQ........among other things.
