  1. I'm in good shape on 40, 9, 22, 30-06. 5,56. 12ga, 16 ga. Just rying to replenish what I shoot. Due to supplies, been cutting back on shootin'. Still got quite a few to reload as well. Bottom line, got enough to ruin someones day if the SHTF.
  2. My .02   Modern Reloadin..Richard Lee   ABCs of reloading   Lee dies   "If" you can find 'em
  3. I understand Gregs frustration. He's a bit like me, has a low tolerance level for some things. Thing is, and we all have to deal with the situation at hand.....supply/prices. My plan now, if you can call it one, is take what you can get when you can, if the price is fairly reasonable, & if you're in need of supply. I've been in there a few time recently, as well as the Reloaders Bench, looking for bullets. None one the shelves. Have 500 on order from Powder Valley, "hopefully" to ship around Mar. 7. A problem, no doubt. Like herding cats!
  4. Welcome from your neighbor to the North. Hartsville. Best gun forum there is.
  5. Decent race. MM did well. Gotta like him, whether you root for him or not. Danica had a good day ran in the front pack all day. Finished 8th. Still rather have the restrictor plates in the garbage tho. Racing's not about slowing down. JMHO
  6.   Got my Thumlers Tumbler from STM...Stainlesstumblingmedia. Tumbler & media (5#), was about $250 including S/H. There will be about a 2-3 wk. wait. They're covered up like everyone else. Great results. No comparison to vibrating tumblers. My old Frankford tumbler is not retired. Still use the separator tho. A bit pricey compared to the other, but the media doesn't have to be replaced, cleans the brass inside & out incl. primner pocket & flash hole. 2 tbls of dishwash detergent + 1/4 tsp of Lemishine, gal of water, you're good to go.
  7. From many reports I have read on the Walther forum, S&Ws service is spotty. Sometimes it is great, sometimes makes you pull your hair out. Walthers split from S&W should be an improvement. I have a PPQ in 40 S&W. Haven't had any problems thus far. How this works out will be a wait & see, but the folks on the Walther forum that deal with issues on a regular basis are thrilled with the change. FWIW
  8. Buggy wheel, perhaps?
  9. Basically the same story as the last election. Of course the school shooting only intensified the situation. The anti-gun Libs took full advantage of that. Why are we so surprised?
  10. It says, they won't sell to "anyone" regardless what law enforcement or government credentials they offer up. Not intended for all citizens....as I read it.
  11. There needs to be a study on the accuracy of studies.
  12. Got mine shortly after they came out, but can't remember the date. Been quite a while tho. Still got the original paperwork somewhere. Memory is a wonderful thing.....if it still works. LOL
  13.    LOL, yeah, I wish I had know about this years ago. When I first started handloading back in the late '60s, I cleaned each pc by hand with Brasso & a cotton cloth. Didn't have large batches, Live & learn. And, true, the "B" isn't cheap. I paid $250 for mine (including shipping, etc), from STM ( StainlessTumblingMedia). Had a 2 week backorder due to volume of orders. Good company to do business with. Had no problem communicating with them via email.   Thanks for your service, BTW, from an ole Army grunt.
  14. Thanks for the info. I bought a Model B about a week or so ago. Had thought the same thing about the belt. Vac belts look to be about the same if you could find one. Luckily you did. I'll keep that in mind. Hope mine will last a while. FWIW, RockTumbler.com has belts & other parts if needed.
  15. Made the show this am about 10. No line, one guy in front of me. Went directly to Davis' booth & picked up 3K primers. Thanks, David. Prices very reasonable.   Bought 100 rd box of Rem 40 to replace some I shot up this week. All in all, not a bad trip. As all have said, some prices were over the top. Colt AR  $2200. 223 ammo $1 ea., on & on.   Gotta love being broke after a gun show.  :)
  16. I had planned to go this am, but had some problems come up. Maybe Sun am & get some Fed small pistol primers from David if he has any left...........   Someone that goes today, let us know how it is ( crowd, parking, etc )
  17.  Feb. 9 & 10.  Also, think there will be a boat & fishing show @ the Fairgrounds as well. Parking, not only expensive, but packed as well, most likely. Haven't heard of Obama going after that portion of sports ( yet ). I could use CCI small pistol primers. David, got any? Certain no one else will.
  18. Wasn't aware of PayPal's policy on firearms, etc. until this posting. Sent them an email advising I will no longer use their service ( shortened version here ). It was a convenience, not a necessity anyway.
  19. I wouldn't take anyone I care about to Chicago, armed or otherwise.
  20. De-priming die & re-size die are one & same. Get you a good reloading manual ( ABCs of Reloading, and Modern Reloading 2nd Edition by Lee, since you have a Lee setup ), would help you a great deal. Read the heck out of 'em. You'll be off to a good start. Welcome to the club. Lots of good info on here & good folks wiling to help. Enjoy.....
  21.   Magnum Research has a decent price ( $30 or so ), Baby Desert Eagle mags, "if" you can find some in stock. Hard to do at present. I bought from there, look & perform like OEM.
  22. I have the version with the "funky" mag release. Doesn't bother me all that much. Had an old P99 yrs ago with same release. As for the PPQ, either version, very satisfied with it. Best trigger out of the box you'll find. All around well built gun. Most will prefer the grip buitton release, as it's what most folks are accustomed to. Also, added Trijicon nite sights to mine. Green front, yellow rear.
  23. Finally got around to checking the new store out today. Have a few handguns, not many long guns. Some accessories, little ammo. Due to starting out & the scarcity of everything, it's going to take some time to get this store stocked up well.  I asked if they intended to have any reloading stuff. Guy said later. It takes so much stock to pull that off. Wish 'em luck starting out at this particualr time.
  24. RK Show at Hendersonville this weekend, Jan 19 & 20. Anyone going to brave the chaos? Adm. $10, parking free.
