  1.    Great rifle. I bought one in .308 Win. Haven't tried it @ 100yds yet, but shot .261 @ 50 yds with Hornady American Whitetail 150 gr. SP.  Working up some handloads for Sierra 150 gr. BSP. Won't win any beauty contests, but...........
  2.  I don't know whether my LPO delivers pkgs. on Mondays or not. Never thought about it. They do, however, close for lunch from 11am to 1 pm. Small rural PO in Castalian Springs, housed in a moblie home after a tornado wiped the original bldg. from the face of the earth a few yrs ago.
  3.    No offense taken. I agree it should be plainer than it is. Any changes in S/H price or delivery dates should be listed when you review the order . Then if it's not up to par, cancel.  It's a rat race & the rats are winning. Midway is among many that are making their money off S/H fees.  I shop around for the bottom line. The cheapest catalog price is not always the cheapest price delivered to your door. Anyway, good luck with your venture.
  4.    I don't like that idea either. Anything that goes thru the USPS is taking it's life in it's hands, LOL
  5. I think where things changed was when you opted for the $3 faster shipping, rather than standard. After reading their Shipping charges that's what I got from it, in the fine print, so to speak. Midways' S&H is usually excesssive to me, sometimes not so much. Delivery estimates, are just that, estimates. Sometimes they are late, sometimes earlier that predicted, especially when UPS drops it off at the local P.O. My bottom line is, tho their S/H is pricey, the turnaround is usually fast, and prices are competetive. I'll kick gravel & cuss, but still order if I'm in need of something quick.
  6. Josey Wales.....Clint Eastwood.  We kinda think alike. I reckon so.
  7.    That's why we have a smorgasbord of types out there. Different strokes for different folks. LOL
  8.  Not an issue for me personally. Never cared for Target anyway.
  9.    Mine is not the M2. It's one of the earlier models with the mag. release under the trigger guard.  Some didn't like the idea of changing to something different than the old standby button.  Doesn't bother me.  If you try the M2 & don't fall in love with it, I'll be shocked. JMHO
  10. According to Walthers website, the trigger is "similar" to a PPQ, but they didn't mention reset. 5.5lb. pull, .27 travel. PPQ is 5.5lb, .400 travel, & .10 reset. Love my PPQ in 40. Also, didn't mention anything about interchangeable back straps. Not a big fan of manual safeties, but for pocket carry, not a bad idea. If the price was right, I'd trade mt PT709 for one in a heartbeat. Walther makes great stuff. Had a P99 & now a PPQ. It's going nowhere.
  11.    Greg, I agree. Have never liked this idea, weapons or dress. If you've got it, you're going to want to find a way to use it.
  12. Wouldn't dispute that. All have issues in some prod. runs. I had 3 back in the 80's, a 357, 2  44's. Never had a problem....... well, except one of the 44's was stolen. All three were the multi-barrel kits.
  13.  If it's anything like the revolvers, it's top notch.
  14. Off the top of my head reply. As for why it's where it is, likely someone back in the day witched for it & dug it there. People used to lay stones like that for fences, etc., without cement. Fitted by hand. Probably took a while. Safe to use? Back then, probably so. Now, with all the stuff in the ground water, who knows without testing.
  15.  There were mosquitoes about that size in 'Nam.
  16.    That it is.    But not to be outdone by the good guns & ammo folks, who charge outrageous S&H, look at the restaurant business.  $5 meal + $2 for a small tea. Not unusual. I started ordering water. Free.....so far. LOL
  17.  You are correct sir!  I plan on being there around mid-day Sat.
  18. Likely, only about three people in the state have ever done so.
  19. Bersa is a good gun. Don't own one myself, but helped a friend of mine pick one out, taught her to shoot it. Shot it myself & was pleased with how it shot. She did well with it also. If you like it, go for it.
  20. My Walther PPQ in 40 S&W. trigger is awesome, 0.400 pull, 0.100 reset. approx. 5 lbs pull, adjustable backstraps, mild recoil, easy back on target. It's found a home.
  21. Nothing I guess. I hear they taste just like chicken!
  22.  Slightly off topic, but ammo isn't the only item WallyWorld is losing ground on. Goods store wide are going up or disappearing  altogether. If the trend continues, it'll be another Kmart.  JMHO
  23. My sympathy for being in the VA hospital, for any reason. I recently spent 4 days in the M'boro VA, Rather be back in 'Nam.
  24. 71 LTD, 73 LTD, 75 F150, 78 F150, 78 Bronco. Other years as well. Ford thru & thru.
