Final bump update. Did'nt feel well enough to make the Sat. show. Worn out from trip.. Did make it today. This place is huge. Only went thru about 40% of it, til I was tired out. Much better than our local shows. Didn't see any siding, gutters, flea mkt stuff ( proves it can be done ), LOL. Heading home tomorrow. You need to see this show if you can make it, awesome.

Bump, update. Leaving tomorrow am for the Tulsa show, at last. Seems like it's been a year since I planned it, LOL. May have to mortgage the house, contents, truck, boat, etc. when I get back, but apparently, I'm only going to live once, so................

DIY Wet Tumble Setup... add-on Giraud Tri-Way cutter?
Grunt67 replied to NeveSSL's topic in Ammunition and Reloading
Well, that would work for the idea you have, but 6 lbs isn't much capacity for tumbling. Maybe enough for what you're planning on doing. I have a Thumlers Tumbler that has a 15 lb. capacity, but quite a bit more expensive than the Harbor Freight model. $58 buck compared to $189. Good luck with your project, fun thing to do. -
With its' floor space, location ( right off I-40 ), away from downtown traffic, it has the "potential" to be a good gun show. Now, what Goodman does with it is another matter. There's also the RK Shows as well. Can't forget the rental costs, etc of using the Center. Hope this all works out & we can finally have a decent show in the area. At least we can get away from Megan Barry & Liberalville.

I go with the factory recommendation. Read somewhere ( don't remember), from experts in the field, that, that was the way to go. Haven't had any issues doing so.

Same here. No costs. Covered under Comprehensive.

Years ago I had a similar problem with Firestone on my F-150. Long story short, they were out of round. Only way to fix that was to grind off material until they evened out. Naturally by then, not much tread left. Pulled them off & replaced them with something other than Firestone. Had another issue with Firestone on a T-bird years later. These were orig. equip. tires. Never have another one. Have Kelley tires on my current truck. They run, drive, quiet, great. on so good in slick fields. Thinking my next set will be either Goodyear Wrangler or Toyo.

Same here. Only way to go, JMHO

What do the cost savings have to be for you to reload a round?
Grunt67 replied to NeveSSL's topic in Ammunition and Reloading
Same here. I don't think you can save much by reloading, especially if you have to start from scratch & figure in the costs of equipment. I just like to know what is actually in the round, and you can get better accuracy if you experiment with different components with a particular gun. Not to mention the fun/satisfaction factor, which is high on the list for me. -
Yep, be glad to have it in the Lebanon area. I'm only 10 mi. No. of Lebanon city limits on 231.

What does everyone use for case lube?
Grunt67 replied to bigcdaddy's topic in Ammunition and Reloading
Same here Hozzie. That's all you need to do. Doesn't contaminate primers or powders either. -
Had to do it in Army training. Haven't had the need since. It can be done with time & patience.

I upgraded my 8.1 to 10. I can't see much difference in the two. Don't really like either. Takes a bit of getting used to. Have finally gotten used to the dang thing. I liked XP better.

I used the see-thru mounts and also the swing over mounts for years on a Rem 742 BDL 30-06. Also on a Win. Mod 70 in .270. Never had an issue. Doesn't mean it can't happen, like anything else. Just my own personal exp. from years ago.

I agree the shipping could be cheaper, over the top actually. Other than that, no issues.

Comms absolutely right. The Feds had every opportunity to serve a warrant in town. They chose not to do so. THey wanted to make a statement, "We're in charge & don't you ever forget it". That's what they did. Koresh was not saint, but he was made the scapegoat. Same situation at Ruby Ridge with Randy Weaver & family. Bunch of jack booted thugs.

Well, since we're all sharing our horror stories of the USPS, I might as well share mine which happened in the past few days. Ordered 2 pair of Wrangler dress jeans from Shelpers in Witchita, KS. Pkg. left there via DHL ( low grade version of UPS/FedEx ), went to Grand Prairie,TX, then on to Memphis. Handed off to USPS. Sat there 3 days, finally went to Nashville ( bear in mind I live 10 mi. No. of Lebanon ), went "back" to Memphis, sat there for however long, then made it's way on toward my address. Ordered on 2/16, arrived here 2/24. Why it would go to from Memphis to Nashville, back to Memphis, is one of life's great mysteries, explained only by the use of the words "government agency". Tracking during this fiasco was impossible. Contacted parties involved. None could tell me more than the useless tracking # would provide. There a an untold number of dumbA--s working for the Feds. The USPS has more than their share. End of rant. Hope your experience is better. I will go ot of my way to avoid USPS. BTW, the old pony express made the same trip in less time. Should have drove myself & picked it up.

Outstanding. Thank you crossfire, and thank you for your service, Brother.

Frog Lube is the same as coconut oil

Frog Lube is the same as coconut oil

I used it on my Colt AR. After it set for a few months, it gummed the thing up until I had to fully disassemble the receiver & soak the crap out of it. Bolt stuck, wouldn't cycle. Travel at your own risk. Supposedly invented by a Navy Seal. Should have taken a few more classes in the armory. JMHO -
That would be interesting for sure. Won't have a lot of time to play with. I drove to OK City 3 or 4 yrs ago, no problem. Health issues lately have slowed the ole boy down a bit, so not sure how well I'll handle this. Got a 2010 F-150 crew 4x4, drives/rides like a Lincoln, so should be comfortable + good backup driver as well. Thanks for the info, tho....maybe another time. Edited to add : Not sure you can look at too many guns, LOL

Ok, thanks, looked for it, guess I missed it somewhere. Aways good to have a TGO bud to have my blind side,LOL

Good point. The trip will be part of the fun for us. I've never been to Tulsa, been to OK City & other places there, so something new for me. Just hope the weather doesn't screw it up. 1st of Apr. is taking a peek at storm season in that neck of the woods. And of course, get to check out all the restrooms along the way, LOL
