  1. There is literally no one that's not walking around without a phone glued to their hand at any point in time. Just saying
  2. Brother Dave, you are just too kind. I just couldn't find it in my sweet soul to do that to you.
  3. I started reloading back in the late 60's. partly for economic reasons. Now that idea usually don't hold water, depending on what you're loading ( hard to find stuff, as Greg said ). Now it's just a hobby to pass the time, when I have nothing better to do. Funny thing is, I reloaded up 3K + rds of 40 S&W, when I had lots of brass from our Dept range. Now I have sold the 40, LOL. Still got a cabinet stacked with the stuff. There are others as well. Not complaining, just fact. Still loading 9's just because I can, LOL.........
  4. My guess is, he never had one. I carry my HCP in my wallet at all times. I've carried mine since back in the 90's, never been asked for it.
  5. LOL, that's what I did after I figured out what the service dept. did. Mag lip.
  6. I had the same issue with mags on my Rem. 783. called Rem. they sent me a new mag, same result. Finally Rem. had me send the rifle back to the service dept. They fixed it, no more issues. I eventually bent the lip on my extra mag & got it to work. In lieu of returning it like I did, I'd try fixing the mag, rather than tampering with the stock. Just my experience. Best of luck. Hard to understand why this issue is still popping up at Remington.
  7. No, it's not, and likely will not be in the foreseeable future. As long as there is a male & female terrorist alive, there will be more. They've been fighting each other for thousands of years, now they're just branching out. Then, there's that 72 virgin thing........
  8. The link didn't work for me, but you're correct in that the President has the power to do this. An act of war, must be via Congress. This was not. Personally, I don't care who does it as long as it gets done & accomplishes it mission. JMHO
  9. I'm sure the terrorist in question would have preferred to wait for Congress to debate this for months & make up their minds.
  10. Hang in there ole fox, I'm no spring chicken either with health issues. We'll just tough it out til Hell freezes & skate on the ice, LOL.
  11. P J holsters, are the ones I use with my Walthers. They are simple, light weight, kydex ( not thin ), $55 , free ship, there is usually a week waiting period, as they are hand made. There are any number of holsters out there. Usually trial & error. Good luck.
  12. Yes, there is. And you were correct, not so long ago. Hope she don't want to take up reloading with my stuff. Whole different ball game, LOL.
  13. Well, she's finally decided ( own her own ), to go for her HCP. There's going to be some training from me before we do that. Mainly safety & practice, familiarity with the gun. She'll be fine, after that. Chief of Police in Westmoreland, a friend of mine, does classes, on Saturdays.
  14. Idiots make the rules. They do it just because they can. Some day, if you order ammo online & a firing pin for your gun, there will be a hasmat charge, for that. Just saying..............
  15. I tried it yrs. ago, didn't work well, or last very long. Gave up, bought night sights, never looked back.
  16. Quite familiar with that feeling. Yrs. ago, in the late 60's, I was at a gun show in Clarksville. There was a M16 select fire, for I believe, was $1500. I wanted one, for mainly sentimental reasons, as I had one in 'Nam. Had the money, just couldn't bring myself to do it. This was 2 weeks before the new law went into effect regulating full auto. I've regretted this ever since, as you know what they're selling for now, not to mention the Gov. red tape. Oh, well...........
  17. Went to the gun show at Lebanon this AM. Bought my better half, a new S&W airweight 38 Special +P. actually I traded my Walther PPQ for it. Carried it home, presented it to her ( complete surprise ). She loved it. Now all I can hear is, " when are we going shooting", LOL. Another satisfied customer! Nice little revolver, fits her well, rubber ? grips.
  18. R.K. Shows will be at the Wilson Co. Expo/fairgrounds, this coming weekend, if anyone is interested. I plan to go & try to sell my Walther PPQ M1 40 S&W. Hrs. 9-5 Sat 9-4 Sun Adm. $10, free parking, very nice facilities.
  19. I ditched Direct yrs. ago & went to an antenna. Lost a few fav, channels, ESPN mainly, which carries the college football championship games. Direct kept going up like a hot air balloon. I could go on a rant about ESPN not simul-casting these games, as they do this with others, but I'll skip it, gets my BP up, LOL.
  20. Pop, that was a great story. That will help him more than you may know. Some of the best times were with my Pa squirrel hunting & my uncle also. Both gone now, but I think of it all the time, and miss it so. I'd love to go just one more time.......... Thanks, & enjoy
  21. No doubt they find the loopholes in the system. Strange the hunting license did the trick, but apparently so. I have a Lifetime hunt/fish license as a Disabled Vet. Maybe I can convert my HCP to lifetime with that. Of course, I'm not in Fla.
  22. All true. A week or so ago, they locked it down when a vehicle buzzed thru without stopping. Security does change tho depending on circumstances, threats ( perceived or real ). Never know quite what you're going to get when you go. I'm an hour & half away, so I'm not there often, maybe once or twice a yr. You being next door, you probably have a better handle on things at the moment.
  23. This whole thing, to me sounds like what we in the Army used to call a " cluster f---). How in the heck is a foreign national allowed to legally purchase a gun? As a Retired Army guy, with a military ID, I have to go thru ID checks at Ft. Campbell, CANNOT carry a gun on base, for any reason. We need to hire someone besides the fox to guard the hen house. This starts at D.C. & filters on down.
  24. It's on my bucket list. Haven't made it yet, due to various reasons. I first learned of this a few yrs. ago while reading western novels ( my fav. books ). It told a story how cattle rancher Charles Goodnight stumbled across it during a cattle drive. Some of it was fiction, of course, but I looked it up, the canyon was real, and I became facsinated by it. There are several Youtube videos on it. Awesome place! I'm envious, LOL
  25. Thanks, Dave. Does sound less biased. Hope this works out in favor of the real 2A, not the liberal version.
