  1. I have a huge hack berry in the back yard. One of the limbs, about 2' dia. broke off, and on the ground. Gonna be quite a while getting this monster cleaned up. Apparently, social distancing, means no one offers to help, LOL. So I guess I'm good to go.
  2. Bonanza was the original name, now Forster. Other than a design change on a part, should be interchangeable.
  3. Yes, you would have to handle each primer. You could use a hand primer if you so choose. I didn't really care for the hand press thing. The co-ax seats them the correct dept each time, no room for error ( unless you put it in upside down, LOL ). Your choice, good luck.
  4. Primer seating speed will be about the same as a regular single stage press. It likely won't compete with a turret feed, but then, it's not supposed to. The other operations, tho, more than make up for that. No more screwing in dies. Set one time & you're done. They slide in & out the slot.
  5. Forster Co-Ax single stage press. You won't need all that extra Hornady stuff. You only need 2 shell holders, which covers anything out there. I load anything from 9mm to 45/70. one holder comes with the press. I bought the bigger one for the 45/70 also. Wish I had bought one years ago. Much easier to operate.
  6. I had a model 742 BDL in 30-06 yrs ago. It was stolen out of my Bronco. Had it for about 10 yrs. Never had an issue with it. Laid quite a few deer & groundhogs to rest. It was the forerunner of the 7400. Can't say how well made they are today. If possible, run some rounds thru it & see how it goes.
  7. LOL, I missed the nane & initials 'til just now. Yep, I know you've got a sack full of them. I forgot you said you are on here. Tough getting old & forgetful. See ya around, pard. Take care, Larry
  8. According to R K website. the show for this weekend is Postponed. No further dates given.
  9. I remember that phrase quite well, LOL
  10. Not a bad idea. You still will have the tube option, if needed.
  11. I was thinking the same thing. Last time I had to park up the street in somebody's grass, and stand in line forever. When I came it the line was still the same.
  12. Just checked R.K. Shows website, said nothing about Murfreesboro show being cancelled at this time. The show in Somerset,KY has been cancelled, tho. May change at any time. I plan on going to the 'boro if the show is still on. The last time, that place was packed.
  13. Well, the long awaited range report. Took the new Henry 45/70 out to play today. Pics below.... Top pic was with my reloads, Starline brass, Hornady 300 gr HP, IMR 4198 powder 41 grs. At 25 yds. Bottom pic is Federal Fusion 300gr. HP factory at 25 yds. I was a bit disappointed in the Federals, supposed to be great, maybe in another rifle, not so much in this one. The shot on the bottom I pulled I think. I was surprised the reloads did that well, had no idea how they would work. I took the middle ground from the Hornady manual @ 41grs. Think I'll keep it.
  14. That's the truth. We used to have a lot of repeat customers at the county lockup.
  15. My symptoms aren't the same as Corona. No fever, Went thru the VA last week. I"m OK. VA screening everybody entering the bldg. Thanks, tho, appreciate it.
  16. FWIW, this may be off topic, but related. I was in Walmart, Lebanon, this AM, and some of the shelves were nearly empty. The Paper towel, bath tissue isle was 90% empty. Lot of canned goods gone. I know this is Sat. shopping, but is unusual for that. May be panic buying for cleaning supplies/canned goods.
  17. So am I. Weather not cooperating. Stand by.........., LOL Actually, health not cooperating either. Been down with a bad case of allergies. Sinus drainage, cough, chest congestion. I'd do well to hold a rifle still long enough to stay on target. Patience wearing thin, not that I had much to begin with.
  18. From what I have read this Am on the 'net, it's already started. Supposedly, people are buying guns and ammo like the did in the Obama era. I don't see the connection between the virus & personal defense. Guess some do. Panic is apparently among us.
  19. I'll agree on the Henrys', but the 1911s are not for me. Only one I ever shot was in Infantry training. Didn't like it. Lots of folks do tho. Different strokes for different folks, LOL. I'll stick with my Walther...
  20. I wouldn't be surprised if they did at some point. They keep coming out with new configurations all the time. They even have side gates now, which was a surprise. The side gate version still has the tubular mag also, so you can go at it either way.
  21. Looks like I've got some catching up to do, LOL.
  22. Took delivery of my first Henry rifle today. Had this on my bucket list for awhile. Model H010, cal. 45/70, 19.3" bbl. Be glad when this crazy weather clears, so & can go shooting. Comes with open sights; brass bead front, semi-buckhorn rear, adjustable for windage & elevation.
  23. I've had both. My first Walther was a P99, really good gun, made a mental error & traded for a Glock. Also, recently had a PPQ M1, 40 S&W. Excellent trigger, great gun. Also, have owned PPS M2 & PPS M2 RSMc. To answer your question, my experience, the PPQ is the better of the two. As I said the trigger is second to none, the grip is better. The reason I got rid of my PPQ, was I no longer need that large of a gun & traded it for a S&W light weight for the missus. Different strokes for different folks, but that would clearly be my choice. Good luck, you won't be in the hole either way........
  24. Just heard on the Ch. 17 news that the death toll overall, is now up to 19, several missing.
  25. Anytime from the 1700's on up, until the Liberals started getting their agenda cranked up. "fine" is in the dictionary. If you want to water down the 2A to your ideal, get Congress to pass it, get the States to ratify it, & you're in business. Vote Bloomberg or any of the other ultra Libs in, & they will certainly give it their best shot.
