  1. Got my first sighting ( sort of , inside in the showroom ), of the new Bronco. Went by Miracle Ford in Gallatin today. They had one in the showroom, the Big Bend edition, red in color, soft top ( rolled back ), front door off to see inside. Big wheels, looked really great ( to me ). I like it, looks ready to hit the boonies. From what I've seen & read, I like the Badlands version the best. Add to that the Sasquatch package, I'm good to go. As I said before, it'll be next year, wait til the dust settles, & production catches up with demand. Roofs & computer chips are a major issue right now. I read the other day, that the Louisville Ford plant has hundreds of trucks parked at the Kentucky Speedway, waiting on chips. BTW, Mrs. Monkey, I like the way you think, LOL Have fun.
  2. I don't know why they are adding that to some vehicles lately. Fine by me, but the average Joe or Jane has no need for it. I gave up trying to figure mfg thinking a long time ago.
  3. Johnny, I guess I should have mentioned that earlier. I had the locker installed by Louisville 4 Wheel drive. The guy there told me, " you'll love it off road & hate it on road ". It will corner ok if you don't push it too hard. Turning a corner, if you hit the gas a bit too much, it would chirp the tires a bit. Takes some getting used to. I never had a problem with it. Around a normal curve, no problem. It's not for everybody. It did what I needed it to do, which was traction in bad spots. Never got me stuck. I pulled one really big green sycamore log with it, both front wheels came off the ground, but it kept going. I'm not familiar with the new electronic locking diffs., so I can't speak to them as yet. Need to look into that. Seems to be the going thing now. The F-150 I have now, has the Traction Lok diff in the rear with clutch plates. It's worked well so far.
  4. We seem to be overlooking the thing that the Bronco is intended for offroad use. It's not supposed to look like an Escalade ( SP ). I'm considering taking a serious look at one next year. They're hard to find now. I'm more interested in the Sasquatch package. That's where the more serious off road options come in. Electronic locking diffs, front & rear, for starters. I had a 1978 Bronc that I put a Detroit Locker in back & a Detroit Truerac in front. That booger would go.
  5. Yep! So much for Bambi being portrayed as a wimp.
  6. This is one *issed deer for whatever reason. Strange to say the least, LOL.
  7. You're right, Red, my bad. Looked at the calendar wrong. Eyes or age, or both, LOL. Thanks. Larry
  8. It was a good show, as shows go these days. Next one in Lebanon,tn is this weekend, July 21/22.
  9. I remember this day, Apr.25, 1967, as if it was yesterday. We were on a search & destroy mission in "Nam, walked into an ambush. I was hit twice with auto weapons fire in the R. leg, several times with the old Chicom "tater" masher grenades. Some of the fragments are still in there. Spent 16 mos. in an Army hospital, almost lost the R. leg, still got it tho., even if it is a bit shorter that the left. A couple of others were hit the same time I was. Another guy was killed later. We were almost overrun, but managed to fight our way out of it, wiped them out. Not one of my better days.
  10. Good idea. Should have some money left over.
  11. Noticed Bill Hagerty's name is absent. Wonder why.
  12. Well, jokes aside ( and there are plenty to be had ), this is an enormous achievement. Soooo, who here is gonna pony up $250,000, to take a ride? Let me know how it went.
  13. Give P J holsters a try. Paul might be of some help. I've bought several from him.
  14. One difference the new RCBs scale has vs the old Lyman & others, is that it has the increments on both sides for lefties ( I'm not ). Also, the pan has two tabs for either hand. One issue with both scales was, that my eye level is at an angle to the scale pointer. Fixed that by adding a small bedroom mirror which is adjustable. What I did was, zero the scale from eye level, then adjust the mirror to get the same reading when I'm seated. Works great & much easier to work with.
  15. I went to the Lebanon show this am. Surprised at the amount of reloading components there. COVID prices of course. Ammo, the same pricing. I was there early, no long lines then. Crowd definitely down from previous shows. Bought nothing, as usual, just checking things out. If you have a wallet in each pocket, you can get ammo & components.
  16. I haven't kept up with the bump stock, except what was on the news. My wonder is how the current adm. will look at it. Hopefully, not.
  17. Agree. Seems to be the same or similar principle as the bump stock. Matter of time before the knock on the door.
  18. I bought my one and only powder scale in 1968, used it ever since. It served me well. It was a Lyman/ Ohaus D5. Lately, I decided it was time for an upgrade, so I have ordered a RCBS Model 500. It has a heavier base, a bit easier to read. Old eyes call for desperate measures (pun), sometimes. Should be here sometime next week. I've got 300 more 45/70 to load. Thought this would help out. Getting old is better than the alternative, or so I'm told.
  19. Think I'll wait for the one in Lebanon,tn in 2 weeks.
  20. I may have to steal your idea, like it. My Hustler is going on 6 yrs. Still going strong. No issues.
  21. When I first started reloading, way back before tumblers, wet or dry, I used Brasso & a rag to polish brass. Never had one to crack, or anything else bad. It worked, but slow.
  22. Armed Forces Day For those still in uniform. Veterans Day For those who hung up their uniform. Memorial Day For those who never made it out of their uniform.
