  1. LOL. I had no idea this many people looked at license plates, much less actually read them. I'm more concerned with the next idiot coming into my lane, than the plate in front of me.
  2. I've had both the good & the bad. Broke my left index finger years ago, went to M'boro VA, x-rayed it, clean break. They wouldn't touch it. Sent me to Nashville, 8 weeks later, my finger is now crooked, won't bend properly. Later, I had a colonoscopy at M'boro, got caught in that scandal due to them not cleaning the equipment properly. Lucked out that I didn't catch a deadly disease. I swore then, never again will the VA do anything invasive to me. I go to the VA for one reason; I can get my meds free. I couldn't afford it other wise. I do have a good group now in Firm C, but trust only goes so far. I hear reports on both sides, good & bad. The majority has been bad. Certainly good to hear yours has been good. Hope it stays that way. Take care Brother.
  3. Some Indians used to eat horse meat. Don't recall if they used a gas grill, or charcoal.
  4. Well, I voted for the Navy Tristar Vintage, thought it looked best. Doesn't really matter to me, I use a Retired Army plate . I'll be getting a new one of those next year too. Wish I could keep my same #.
  5. I hate pumpkin spice.
  6. Good idea, except the decomposition is gonna get kinda messy, LOL.
  7. If the sign outside says VA, keep on trucking.
  8. The FDA denied booster shots for the general population, but allowed booster shots for those 65 & up, plus those with crucial conditions. This was for the Pfizer vaccine. Moderna hasn't been approved yet, but is expected to be in a few weeks. On a personal level, I've had both Moderna shots via the VA. When their booster becomes available, and fits my time frame ( 8 mos. ), I will get it. Do I trust Fauci, CNN, or anything resembling Gov? Heck no. But I do believe in vaccines. Look at Polio, smallpox, and others that were eradicated because of them. Flu shots can be hit or miss, depending on whether or not the target the right strain. So far, in my case, they have been spot on with the flu. I haven't had any side effects from the Covid vaccine, and I've not been in the ICU on a ventilator. I spent 16 mos. in an Army hospital after being wounded. I never want to experience anything like that again. To each his own. JMHO Larry
  9. May have been the same store, but I went into the one at Mt. Juliet some time back. Shelves were empty, replaced by something else. Gave up, haven't been back. And, Academy isn't alone. Most stores, brick & mortar, online, all in the same boat. Occasionally, something will show up, but doesn't last long.
  10. The US dropped tons of that stuff trying to get the NVA & VC to defect to our side. Don't recall how well it worked. I saw some on the ground occasionally. I never trusted one as far as I could throw my house. Kinda like the Taliban. On a side note, I found a 1$ MPC for sale for $149. A collector's item now. Strange world.
  11. Cut the puppet strings, he's history.
  12. I ran across one of your guys in McDs in Lebanon a few days ago, him & his wife. He was a sub sailor too, same age as me ( old fart ), LOL. Had a nice conversation. Nice guy. Always like talking to our vets.
  13. BTW, I do find myself in the old fart category.
  14. One recollection related to MPS's, still pees me off to this day. After I was wounded, taken to the aid station, some asshat(s), stole $175 in MPC I had saved up for R&R. Took everything except my wedding ring. Didn't know till weeks later when I finally got a chance to go thru my bags. Thru Senator Baker, the Army replaced the money. Takes a special kind of SOB to do that.
  15. I've known several folks with part of the alphabet after their name, that couldn't find the front porch. Education & intelligence don't always go hand in hand. People believe whatever supports their opinion. Kinda like doctor shopping.
  16. I'm no expert on the subject, but I don't buy what she's selling. I call BS.
  17. Speaking from experience, money used by the military in Vietnam. You had to swap your US currency for the MPC version. Didn't really matter to me. No place to spend it in the bush.
  18. Yep! 1967
  19. Mine took 10 business days with Midsouth, but they've been slammed by Covid. Normally, they're quick.
  20. UPS brought me 500 CCI BR2 Large rifle primers yesterday from a Tulsa,OK co. Today, FEDEX brought 200 Hornady 300gr HP 45/70 bullets, from Midsouth. I'm good to go. Not buying anymore.
  21. Folks loved the cheaper off shore prices, now they ask why can't we make that here. Well, because you didn't want to pay the price. Careful what you wish for.
  22. They may do like everyone else. Assemble & park 'em.
  23. Commercials have gotten totally out of hand. I timed one barrage a day ago, just out of curiosity. 6 minutes. Ridiculous! There were more throughout the program.
  24. I still watch football , but I skip the opening ceremonies. The Star Spangled Banner is usually screwed up by putting their own spin on it. I start watching at kickoff.
  25. Hyped by the Nashville media, each season, the Titans are expected to make a Super Bowl run. Not happening. The Titans won their Div. because the Div. was very weak. Same thing this go round. They'll win some games, maybe the Div. again, but the bus stops there, or close by.
