  1. I do pretty much the same. Start in the middle, then work for best accuracy. I'm not interested in blazing speed.
  2. I've heard that too, never caught one in the act tho. LOL
  3. I have the Hornady 10th Ed. I agree with Quovadus, you should be ok with what you have.
  4. My 45/70 makes an "impression " on my shoulder as well. Actually, once it made a bruise that matched the imprint of the recoil pad. Lasted about 3 days. After 20 shots.
  5. I've been spending the down time working up a good reload. Came up with one that works great in this rifle. 3 rds @ 25 yds.
  6. Same here, neighbor, bought mine after the season last year. Same time the tornado came thru Lebanon.
  7. I don't think I've eat butter since Granny quit churning.
  8. I have no issue with a red flag law if "properly " enforced. However, abuse is waiting just outside the door.
  9. I have Henry 45/70. Anything it won't take down, RUN!
  10. So you don't have to sit & wait all nite, or days for it to show up.
  11. Neither. ATT stadium, Arlington, TX. Home of the Cowboys. T AM. 10. ARK 20
  12. You're right. They are smart. I had one that kept robbing the cat food can I had in the trap for bait. Finally figured out he was reaching thru the mesh & cleaning out the bait. So, I made a cover out of fine mesh wire fence. That stopped that, then he went into the trap. For the last time.
  13. I caught one, shot him in top of the head. I was expecting him to spray, but he didn't. Never moved. Still waited a few days before dumping him. Lucked out, I reckon. Risky business. Kinda like collecting wolf pee. People have more fun than anybody.
  14. BTW, live traps work well on cats too, or so a "friend " says, LOL.
  15. I can attest to that. I've caught possums you couldn't run out of the cage. They'd stay for hours before they decided to leave. They'd just sit there & hiss at ya. And they do have major problems getting across a road alive.
  16. Thankfully, I'm not quite old enough to remember that. I do know that they have a temper.
  17. Here's one I caught in the live trap some time ago. He was not happy.
  18. Nothing wrong with eating a raccoon. Folks used too all the time, back in the day. I've eat a bite or two myself, LOL
  19. I've caught several possums and coons using a live trap I got at TSC. Came with a large trap & a small. I used the large with canned cat food as bait. Meat works also. .22 short to the top of the head eliminates the problem permanent.
  20. True. SEC money figures in there too.
  21. Trousdale Co is now 5 & 0. Looked really good Fri. nite vs Smith Co. 34 - 16.
  22. When is Vandy going to realize they don't belong in the SEC ? They cannot compete on that level.
  23. Eat butter, don't. Eat bacon, don't. Eat eggs, don't. This stuff changes with study grants.
  24. Me either.
  25. Glad she is, it'll take some getting used to, but worth it.
