  1. Must have struck a nerve. Whiners.
  2. "Ring of Fire" by Johnny Cash
  3. I have a standard (slab-sided) Micro and I love it. Very reliable and not too picky about ammo. A lot more accurate than I am.

    Rule #23

8 O'clock Colombian, ground 10 seconds before brewing.
  5. Most any local store that carries reloading supplies will have the decapping pins. That was good advice about the stuck case remover - you'll need it someday.
  6. The M38 Swedish Mausers have the advantage of being WWII rifles that weren't used in combat. They're usually in much better shape than the K98's, Mosins and Enfields.
  7. Better than camo paper -- I had a roll, but I lost it in the woods.
  8. You have to buy the beer. I like Heineken.
  9. I priced that stuff at Lowe's the other day -- over $25 for a single board! I ain't rich enough to have a plastic deck. I sold the house with the Penofin-sealed cedar deck. The new owner didn't maintain it and, a couple of years later, it looked like the deck had been painted black. I was by there this summer and it looks like cedar again. Better him than me.
  10. I'm with ya! The best weather I've ever been in was in Southern California, but I couldn't live there. For many reasons.
  11. Uh huh, like anyone would spend $65/gallon for something that might work. I may have to refinish my deck with Olympic sealer every year, but I had to do that with the Penofin too, except that I had to remove all of the old, blackened finish first. It wasn't just spray, brush and rinse -- it was spray, brush, brush, spray, brush, scrub, spray, scrub, scrape, rinse. It took me a week to refinish a small deck and I got tired of it REAL fast. I tried the outdoor bleach/soap method for cleaning my deck this year. I get a fair amount of algae from being in the shade most of the day and the bleach/soap method didn't remove the algae. Olympic Deck Cleaner plus more scrubbing got rid of the algae. If it hadn't been for the algae, the bleach & soap would have worked fine -- the deck was clean and bright except for the bright green areas.
  12. Yup, house was chilly yesterday morning, so I fired up the gas logs and vegetated in front of the fireplace with a cuppa joe. Been waiting a long time for cooler weather.
  13. Penofin is one of those natural oil finishes that you want to avoid. It turned my old cedar deck black with mildew.
  14. Well, if the weather doesn't hold, don't try it -- wait until spring.
  15. . . . and modems that work with Linux, TNC's (terminal node controllers), radio interfaces, things like that.
  16. If the deck is new, you want to wait at least a year (for drying) before staining or sealing it. Olympic makes a good deck wash and their sealer isn't bad either. I use both. Stay away from the expensive natural oil finishes - they mildew like you wouldn't believe. Thompson's Water Seal is useless. Stain I don't know about - I have a natural finish on my deck. I stained a shed once with Thompson stain and it seemed to come out OK. You're about a month late in getting started. You probably need nights above 50 degrees for the stain and sealer to dry and you can't depend on weather like that this time of year. However, you might get lucky.

    An Alf Pog?

When I was a kid we played with rocks.
  18. Just look how far Obama got without a birth certificate!
  19. Just quit posting.
  20. If your computer will boot and operate normally on a Linux live CD, then you probably don't have a hardware problem. That might be useful information. No, I don't want your computer.
  21. I pocket-carry a S&W j-frame every day.
  22. I am closer. I could get a live Linux cd to you and we could see if it'll boot to Linux and operate correctly. Let me know.
  23. I have some 3 cent .30 carbine ammo from the 60's.
