  1. Being a REMF is good -- enjoy it. Thanks for your service.
  2. Maybe they just wanted to use our website for free to mine our membership. Maybe they're parasites?
  3. So, who are you, mystery guest? Why did you pick our forums for your unwanted commercial message (AKA spam)?
  4. I think I'd rather wear muffs.
  5. If you really want to get rid that dull Kershaw, please mail it to me.
  6. As I understand the Jetfires, the tip-up barrel helps only on initial loading, right? If you do a mag change, you still need to either rack the slide or tip the barrel and manually load the chamber again? I've been considering one for my wife, who also has trouble racking slides on blowback pistols, the size she wants to carry. She doesn't seem to be interested in carrying my 1911 for some reason.
  7. He's only showing half of the coyote - the other half vaporized.
  8. Before we get into any more of "who's offended the most?" and more righteous indignation, why don't we all pull on our big boy pants and walk away? Life's tough, the internet is cruel, the truth isn't always pleasant. Play nice!
  9. After I walk away, or attempt to, any 'laying on of hands' will probably result in a laying on of Smith & Wesson.
  10. Who cares? What did I win?
  11. I was just about to post the same thing .. . . +1
  12. Closed - duplicate thread.

    Ugly Glock?

Ugly Glock - sounds like a statement from the Department of Redundancy Department.
  14. 1972 -- Welcome to the group!
  15. If you're not hung up on spending $500, TigerDirect also has some off-lease reconditioned business computers at a good price. I bought an HP Compaq desktop, less monitor, Win XP Pro, for $158. I don't play computer games so this one fits my needs perfectly.

    Vaquero

    Gorgeous gun, grips and photography!
  17. I've done a lot of the things the OP has (lights, timers, safes, alarm system), but stopped when I reached the point where my neighbor's house is more attractive to a burglar than mine. I'm not going to live behind bars. My house is an indefensible position and nothing short of replacing it with a blockhouse is going to make it that much better.
  18. There are a few of us here. TGO David is a new ham this year. You really don't need the class, but it won't hurt. Another way is to find out when the local club does testing sessions and buy the Gordon West licensing guide for the Technician class license. Read the guide and take practice tests online and you should be ready to take the exam within a month. You don't have to take the class to take the test. W5YI : Products Catalog I'm gonna bake a ham for Christmas (the pig meat kind), so yes, I'm thinking of ham.
  19. I told him 2 years ago that I regretted voting for him and wouldn't do so again.
  20. I use a Lansky for heavy duty sharpening and crock sticks for light touchups. I get shaving edges. I'm sure there are other ways to get the same results.
  21. Still a cataloged item at Midway USA.
  22. Beneficial! Even if it doesn't find the Higgs Boson, maybe it'll tell us who last had it.

    S&W 442

Not totally accurate - my 638 is not marked in any way that it can take +P's, but an email to S&W confirmed that it can. The difference is the introduction of the magnum frame on the j-frame, replacing the earlier frame. For the 642, the changeover happened in 1996 with the re-introduction as the 642-1. Therefore, only no-dash 642's are not +P rated, per the Standard Catalog of Smith & Wesson.
  24. I understand Crossville gets more snow than we do here in the Tennessee valley, but I'll bet it doesn't compare to Detroit. I moved down here from Westland 4 years ago and I don't regret it for a moment. I DID buy a snow shovel last winter to clear a walking path across my deck (we had about 2 inches for a week), but that's the only time I've ever needed one. Snows here in the valley are usually under 1" and gone by noon. People telling you that a Crossville winter was as bad as Detroit have probably never spent a winter in Michigan.
