  1. Still using Quicken 2004 here. No reason to upgrade yet.

    Hiking Pistola?

    Midway probably carries them.
  3. Good lookin' hat! Where'd ya find the homely model?
  4. Just off the top of my head, and not knowing if this has already been answered - try the area realtors (Century 21, REMax, etc). for rental leads.
  5. I wasn't thrilled with the Windows version of TT Home & Business this year, but at least it didn't crash. The interview process missed some obvious sources of income and deductions -- ones that I had used in previous years -- even though I did import last year's data. I've used TT since 1989 - back in the days when you had to hand-copy your data to the IRS tax forms. I don't e-file. I ALWAYS mail a paper copy. I hope the bassards go blind reading them.

    Hiking Pistola?

My personal choice would be a revolver in .357 or larger, with some heavy, hard-cast slugs. Maybe a snakeshot round up first. You're not likely to run into a cardboard silhouette out there.
  7. Gollee - it looks just like a 1911. Whodathunkit?
  8. A handyman can do that for you. You need to replace those trim boards (treated lumber would be nice), seal and repaint. If you're going to be there long, I highly recommend getting aluminum trim installed over the wood. Zero maintenance.
  9. I care - I like birds. Great pics.
  10. Probably just a training exercise. I had a couple of V22 Ospreys come over my house recently, at tree-top level. I was pretty darned impressed by that, but my Jack Russell didn't like it and scared them off.
  11. If the light has a metal case, I'd connect the ground wire to it. If it doesn't, then I'd just cap it. IANAE
  12. Well thank you! Maybe you should run for President so you can be the next to tell us what we need and what we should do. How the hell do you know what I need? Besides, what does need have to do with it? My F350 4x4 is paid for, by me, and nobody but me has ever paid for the gas that goes in it. It's nobody's business what I drive, least of all King Obama's. ps - moving to a farm is a choice. If you lived in an apartment in the city, you wouldn't need a vehicle at all, least of all a truck. Aren't you being selfish?
  13. Yep! Black is a color.
  14. Arrogant SOB! (Referring to King Obama, of course)
  15. If it ain't broke, don't fix it. JMHO
  16. I don't get it either. It's ugly, and I see no purpose for the thing except to increase sales for Ruger. But, then, I see no purpose in AR "pistols" either.
  17. I was wrong. This part's still right.
  18. It's legal. Didn't use to be, but it is now. I bought a lot of furniture at Scott's in '06. Guess I won't be back.
  19. The pain & suffering and punitive damages have to be capped for the same reason that public employee unions need to be outlawed. The lawyers and plaintiffs are getting rich off of my money, not the money of some corporate fat cat.
  20. Let it be known that I own a 1911.
  21. I'm so tired of the print and TV media's fascination with 1911's that I could spit nickels. Every gun magazine (except Handloader) has at least one 1911 article and one AR article per month. I was going to subscribe to Handloader at the end of my trial subscription, but darned if they didn't devote half of the last issue to the anniversary of the 1911.
  22. Take your bits back to Lowe's and get a refund. You won't get an argument from them. I'll bet the Dewalt bits are good.
  23. It seems to me, and I may be wrong, that if you get hot water after a normal wait period, but it doesn't stay hot long, it's the lower stat that's bad (i.e. locked open). If you have to wait a longer time for hot water, and it doesn't last, it's the upper stat that's bad. All assuming that both heating elements are good. Anybody else have any thoughts on this? It also seems to me that gas heaters are less trouble than electric.
