  1. Budweiser American Ale - the only Bud that's fit to drink.
  2. I offered to take care of the birds in my local Lowe's store the same way, but the lady employees (of both genders) were horrified. So they still have birds. I used to hunt pigeons in the plant I worked at in Georgia with a Sheridan 5 mm air rifle. The pigeons crapped on the steel and made flame-cutting the steel difficult.
  3. Locked breech means the barrel is locked to the slide for a moment after firing, then the barrel tilts during recoil and unlocks from the slide. Most if not all pistols 9 mm and larger are locked-breech designs.
  4. The question having been answered, I'm closing the thread before negotiations start.
  5. Tonight: I have a big pot of Navy beans on with a ham bone in them. Later on I'll make corn muffins and a pitcher of tea. Green onions from the garden. Yum Yum!
  6. I loaded my revolver with two rounds only until I was sure the "recoil" (such as it is) wouldn't jar the wads loose. I use an oversize wad (3/8 inch) over the shot and I jam it in hard with a metal rod. No wax needed so far.
  7. I see the Tactical Republic reference, but I don't see much unusual slowness. I run Opera/Firefox/Epiphany on Linux. Since I'm on satellite, fairly slow is typical.
  8. I'd think bacon bits would be a superior load for muslim bees.
  9. I know nothing . . . I saw nothingggg! What posts?
  10. Just for the record, here's a Black Panther: Don't confuse the two!
  11. I've been pocket-carrying a S&W 638 for nearly 10 years now. I keep it loaded with 158 grain LSWCHP +P.
  12. I got 4 kills and a probable today - almost made Ace!
  13. Colt Peacemaker/Frontier Scout. They're a bit pricey now.
  14. Here ya go: http://radar.weather.gov/ridge/radar.php?rid=htx&product=N0R&overlay=11101111&loop=no
  15. In a free country, people are free to make asses of themselves. The disrespect bothers me, but I don't dwell on it. Life's too short . . .
  16. Bad idea - you really don't want to store powder in a safe. None are fireproof, only fire resistant, and a can or two of powder detonating in a sealed safe could be dangerous. If you have to store it in a box, store it in a weak box, or one that will vent gases to the outside. I do the opposite on storage location also - I keep the powder indoors in the A/C, and take it out to my shed when I'm reloading. It's not like storing gasoline or black powder in your house - it doesn't burn any faster than paper. Probably no more dangerous than keeping a kerosene lamp in the house for power failures. http://www.alliantpowder.com/getting_started/safety/storage_handling.aspx#consider
  17. *Nothing* that happens at Wal-Mart would surprise me.
  18. Fuel cells are not a panacea for automobiles. Basically they're expensive but very reliable substitutes for batteries. If batteries are adequate, why use a fuel cell (unless you're an engineer just using one for the 'cool' factor). It still takes more energy, overall, to crack water than you get from the resultant hydrogen. If you put energy into water to get hydrogen, and then take energy from the hydrogen, creating electricity, heat and water, you get less usable energy than you put into the process. Solar power is currently a dead end. If you had 100% efficiency in a solar panel, instead of the current <20%, a 10 square foot panel would produce enough energy to run a 1 Hp motor. What we need to do, right now instead of talking about it for another 30 years, is DRILL! At the current state of technology, those stories are Science Fiction.
  19. Spreading insanity, one mind at a time. What will the Yankees think of us? Next year - anvil shooting!!
  20. Gasket punches to make the wads are handy to have. I seat the wads with a pencil.
  21. Too close, as I occasionally miss. The spread is about 3 inches at 2 feet. I really need to pattern the load to find the optimum range.
  22. The radio shack at the local power company's tower site has a 50 Amp UPS backed up by a Kohler generator. In case of failure, the UPS kicks in immediately and the generator then fires up and takes over the load.
  23. Yep, that's the main reason I changed.
  24. 1. You do it wrong and get yourself electrocuted. 2. You do it wrong and get someone else (like a Nasville Metro lineman) electrocuted. 3. You do it wrong and your house burns down.
  25. I load crushed walnut shell over 2 grains of Bullseye, CCI 500 primers in .38 Special cases. I use light cardboard wads over the powder and 'shot'. This is just what I use, not a recommendation for anyone else.
