  1. I'v taken guns with me when driving to California, just unloaded and locked them up before leaving Arizona/Nevada. It's just like driving through Illinois.
  2. You'll find the 706 a hard radio to beat for the features, price and size. I still have mine, mounted mobile in my truck.
  3. I'm with ya! I am on facebook, but just to keep track of my kids and to get pictures of my grandkids. My profile is private - only my friends can see it, and I have darn few friends on facebook.
  4. I've started using an RCBS hand priming tool and I really like it. Previously I was priming with my single-stage press -- it works fine but it's slow and there's a lot of primer handling.
  5. I use a tumbler on all my brass; rifle, revolver and pistol. It'll clean dirt and corrosion off of cases, and makes it easier to spot case defects.
  6. I've been using a single stage RCBS press since 1982 and have no thoughts of changing.
  7. A used Ruger Super Single-six will set you back about $350. You can buy two for the price of a used Smith.
  8. I've seen ball lightning, and a lot of people in my engineering office saw it too. It looked like someone was shooting a big roman candle through the parking lot. But then, I've seen a plane crash while I was at the airport - those suckers burn hot and fast. Back to the topic, I seriously doubt that a lightning strike would detonate cartridges in your pocket or handgun, at least not until after you were TU.
  9. 16 drops to a gallon per the ready.gov website.
  10. The grips are nice . . . .

    "Big Game" Guns

A .54 Hawken is in your price range - think of it as a single-shot .54-90.
  12. I have plans for a workbench published by Stanley *many* years ago - 4x4 legs, 2x4 stretchers and 2x8 foot, 1-1/2" thick plywood top. It's built with carriage bolts so it can be disassembled for moving. It works great for reloading. I can email you a copy if you'd like.
  13. Northern Tool carries the bins in 3 sizes. They're great for sorting brass and bullets into.
  14. We had a ball cap, but no mesh. The patrol cap is a better looking cap than what we had.
  15. My son-in-law will be glad to hear this.
  16. Yep, this is normal. When somebody makes a spectacular ass of himself online, we like to savor the moment.
  17. I was there from about 10 am till noon. Did anyone feel a disturbance in the Force?
  18. [*img]url of your image[*/img] without the asterisks. Your picture will have to be hosted somewhere on the web, such as photobucket. Welcome to the site!
  19. If you'll look it up, .380 HP's that don't expand also don't penetrate as well as FMJ.
  20. This has been a hoot! Thank you, Letereat!
  21. Also done well by Eddy Arnold and Doc Watson.
  22. Yup, North Carolina is really close. Might as well keep your options open.
  23. Where is the show? I'm going to be in Knoxville Saturday anyway, might as well kill 2 birds.
  24. FMJ .380 ammo may be becoming more availabie, but most of it is still over-priced, over-hyped target ammo. JMHO
