  1. I have a $1 million umbrella personal liability policy thru State Farm that's quite reasonable.

    380 Question...

I've been pocket-carrying a S&W j-frame in a Kramer horsehide pocket holster for many years. The holster is as durable as iron - just a little black shoe polish once a year and it looks like new.
  4. Congratulations on putting up a fence for your new dog. Most people just let them run. Boxers are wonderful dogs, just a little bull-headed when pups. They grow up to be people.
  5. I have a barrel for a shotgun I don't own.
  6. Well, he IS a politician, and I don't know that his Michigan constituents (I used to be one) would vote for him. He's trying to make a life out of politics and I think that he ought to try to live under the laws that he's been helping pass. I think he has an ice cube's chance of being nominated so it's safe to ignore him. The only way that I would vote for him was if his only opponent was the Emperor Obamey.
  7. Everclear and lemonade. You'd be surprised how good that is.
  8. There ya go, someone who didn't sleep thru chemistry came along.
  9. Disagree, nobody's ever totally disarmed. I'd feel justified if Chuck Norris was whippin' up on me barehanded. But, stopping originally, and (possibly) chasing the other guy reflects poor judgment. Guess we'll have to wait and see what develops.
  10. That sucks. I lost a 2 D-cell Maglite to battery corrosion this summer. They weren't cheap batteries either. The vinegar solution coouldn't hurt, IMO. I'd rinse good with plain water afterwards. Maybe a little spray of WD40 after the rinse?
  11. I've seen a nice mailbox on my local travels - it's apparently welded up out of plate, suspended by two lengths of logging chain from an L-shaped metal post. Looks durable. I'll bet you'll have trouble again. Game camera?
  12. IMHO, Keeping it oiled/greased will prevent further rust. Rubbing it down with an oily rag will remove some rust. Just don't store it in a gun case. 0000 steel wool and oil, used lightly, will remove the surface rust but not the remaining bluing. I'd contact a smith on rebluing cost. You can also have it refinished with one of the aftermarket finishes. There are some vendors on this forum. Renaissance Wax is highly recommended by some for protecting blued finishes. I've just started using it, don't have any results to report yet.
  13. Welcome! I spent a part of my engineering career as a factotum and dog-robber! Confession is good for the soul.
  14. Mine runs fine with the original, well-used mag that came with the kit. I'm still working on some new Austrian mags to get them smoothed up so they'll feed reliably.
  15. Built mine on an Entreprise lower with an Imbel parts kit in 2005. Love it.
  16. I love it when reality kicks in.
  17. Fight Organized Crime - never re-elect anyone!
  18. Works for me . . . .
  19. Understood.
  20. Nope - you're on your own out there. It's not likely you could raise anyone on any frequency with a hand-held VHF/UHF radio in the boonies. That's why I recommended a cell phone or an ELT.
  21. Don't own any, don't remember the last time I had a pair. Sneakers or Topsiders for me.
  22. IF you have a handheld that is enabled to transmit on public service frequencies, and IF there is someone within range who receives your transmission, and IF it's a genuine emergency, then you're good to go. Chances of having someone receive your transmission are slim. I wouldn't count on it. I'd carry a cell phone or an ELT.
  23. A cheap, but not inexpensive, Canadian Rye. There is NO inexpensive liquor in Canada. Taxes, donchaknow.
