  1. As long as you're happy with them, that's all that counts. Enjoy!
  2. How long is long? I have AR mags that have been continuously loaded for the last 6 years. I have a 12 gauge riot gun that has been loaded longer than that.
  3. That's what I would have guessed. High F-stop, nearly infinite focus (great depth-of-field), poor light-gathering. Being fixed-focus, they should be poor performers in dim light. (I redefined another key to perform the space function. It's slow, but so what, I'm retired. RE: http://www.tngunowners.com/forums/general-off-topic/64252-id-bug.html)

  5. Didn't mean to hurt your feelings, but you DID ask. Those two knives have seen lots of service, and they've been well taken care of. If they have sentimental value, keep them and treasure them.
  6. IMO, with the wear on those two knives, they have no collector value.
  7. I've been to one - poor parking and so crowded inside that you can't squeeze thru the aisles. I'll pass.
  8. Someday you'll want to buy a Ford truck, but there won't be any.

  10. Gud/Good/Gude/Goode news.
  11. We got NOTHING in the last legislative session. Time for some new legislators.

    Your Retro AR

Retro? Doesn't look much like the A1 I carried.
  13. "The controversy surrounding the attack centers on the idea that the U.S. owes its citizens -- wherever they happen to be -- the constitutional protections afforded to all U.S. citizens, to include rights of due process as well as the ability to have "a day in court." The problem, of course, is that such thinking is simply wrong. For starters, American citizens have never been accorded such "rights" when they have taken up arms against their own country. The Supreme Court has reinforced this fact several times. Notably, in World War II it ruled that the U.S. citizenship of captured German spy/saboteurs was irrelevant when the citizen associates himself with the enemy power and operates as an enemy belligerent. In essence, the Court used a walks-like-a-duck-and-quacks-like-a-duck analysis to conclude that U.S. citizens who operate as enemy combatants in wartime are, in fact, enemy combatants, and that the classification preempts any citizenship status. More recently, the Court in Hamdi v. Rumsfeld (2004) added support to this conclusion, stating, "A citizen, no less than an alien, can be part of or supporting forces hostile to the United States or coalition partners and engaged in an armed conflict against the United States." In other words, independent of any "rights" Al-Awlaki and Khan may have claimed as U.S. citizens, when each joined a belligerent foreign military force -- al-Qa'ida -- and entered the battlefield as an enemy combatant against the U.S., they gave the U.S. the "right" to shoot back. And we did. 14. Not in Tennessee! HP's that fail to expand, not that it's likely in a Tennessee winter, still act like FMJ. I've never switched ammo for winter, even when I lived in Michigan. I have switched guns for winter carry, but only because I could conceal a bigger handgun under a Moosedown parka. Carry a caliber beginning with a 4 and there's no need to change.
  15. I don't think it makes a bit of difference. I carry premium carry ammo in my SD guns, not reloads. Not because of legal liability, but because I've had reloads fail to fire. I don't carry cheap target ammo either - I've experienced serious quality issues with target ammo. I've never had premium carry ammo fail. Yeah, it's expensive -- I'm worth it.
  16. I'd buy at Wallyworld rather than shoot someone else's reloads. And I've been reloading for nearly 30 years.
  17. I have CT grips on my J-frame, and XS big dots on my SIG. The big dots aren't junk, not by a far stretch. They're not target sights, but they were never intended to be.
  18. Two words -- enemy combatant. Good riddance.
  19. Welcome!
  20. I'm sure you're very proud of it, Dr. Frankenstein.

  22. Me too. I'm gonna add myself to DanE479's ignore list. So he doesn't have to read my posts. And get p*****d off. Dan - do a Google search on the racist origin of restrictive US gun laws. Bye!
  23. Because of Illinois' paranoid, racist gun laws, I've never felt welcome there. OK, you love Illinois and I'll love Tennessee. Truce. Can we both hate big cities, like Chicago and Nashville?
  24. You don't have to answer the question. Not answering is better than lying. IANAL. The times I've driven through Illinois my firearms were unloaded, cased, inaccessible from the passenger compartment. Like others, I don't travel to or through Illinois if I can help it. I've spent one night in Illinois in my life, and that was one too many.
  25. TCM for me - the movies are much better.
