  1. Not all Parkerizing is the same color.
  2. I dropped my Ithaca and bent the barrel. It took 3 or 4 trips to the gunsmith and a lot of patterning before we got it right.
  3. Remember - you can't outrun a fart on a treadmill.   LOOK - a squirrel!
  4. If someone would donate a pint of gas, I think I could get us back to the dock.
  5. And then there are swans.  A nesting swan will take over a small lake and keep all the fishing boats off.  They'll fly at the boat and buzz you with their 6 foot wingspan.  Big birds!   Quite a strong cross-current and/or wind.  We've drifted from zero points thru zero stars, Comms, Adam 'n' Eve, snakes, original sin,  animal souls and evil birds.  Reckon we'll ever get back to warning points or just drift forever?
  6. That CAN'T be more fun than wingshooting the little bassards with a revolver.
  7. I won't miss him - I blocked him months ago.
  8. Diazinon maybe?  It's a non-persistent insecticide.
  9. Bumble bees are good, carpenter bees are destructive pests. http://www.livingwithbugs.com/carpenter_bee.html
  10. As long as you can prime the brass, you're good to go. My reloading 'press' is a #2 pencil to seat the wads.
  11. I'm in the country - everyone shoots here.  I ventilated my new burn barrel with 20 ga slugs last week.  :D
  12. #decklivesmattertoo
  13. I'm shooting crushed walnut media over 2 gr of Bullseye, cardstock wads over the powder and shot. Not a recommendation, just info. I killed 50+ last year. I do miss occasionally, so I loaded 100 rounds this year. ;)
  14. The bees are coming!   I saw them at the baseball field last week, but none here yet.  Finished my reloading for the year yesterday.  Now we wait . . . .
  15. I run Linuxmint 17.3 with the Mate desktop. I've found that there's always either something broken in the Gnome and KDE desktops, or I have some hardware they don't like. Mate has always been easy for me.
  16. My general practice is - If a medical professional recommends anesthesia, I'm gonna take it.  They have a better idea of how much something can hurt than I do.
  17. Welcome!
  18. Model 94 Swede.
  19. 17.3 is sweet!  I'm already running it dual-boot with Win7 on my desktop, so I know the drill.  Thanks!
  20. At worst, probably a misfire.  At best, probably a bad pattern.
  21. I prefer the Microsoft mouse to the Logitechs.  They can be had for about $15, but Wal-Mart doesn't carry Microsoft.
  22. Most of the time the 10 meter band is relatively dead. If you want reliable communications out to 500 miles or so, you'd want to be on 40 meters or lower. Your $300 could be better spent IMO. For local comms, vhf/uhf is the way to go.
  23. At the moment, I'm running Linuxmint 17.3 from a USB 3.0 flash drive on my Win 8.1 (formerly Win10) laptop.  It's superior in every way to running 8.1 from the hard drive.   If I didn't need to run Office for compatibility with a few benighted souls, I'd leave all Windows products in my rear view mirror.   I may yet put Linuxmint on this computer and dual-boot with Win8.1.
  24. All versions of Windows, especially 10, are clunky and bug infested compared to Linux.
