  1.   Not sure it's legal, even if it's possible.  Radios for services other than amateur need to be type-accepted by the FCC.   Edit - Looked up the radio, it should be possible to program the radio to FRS frequencies, but the power limitation on FRS is 1/2 watt ERP and the radio won't meet the Part 95 type certification requirement.   "Generally, radios made for GMRS, FRS and MURS as well as CB cannot be designed to operate outside of the prescribed frequencies of the radio service, or operate at higher power than is allowed, and in the case of FRS, cannot have a removable antenna."   So, it's possible but not legal.
  2.   And so does every other service except CB, FRS and MURS.
  3.   Roma tomatoes should work as well - they were developed for making sauces, not eating.  Lot's of flesh, little juice.
  4. On good advice from my elders, I started buying a brick of .22 every time I went past the sporting goods counter at K-Mart and had the cash to spare.  That was when the prices were reasonable - not any more.
  5.   Reportedly, Bill Hickok did.  Fired his Navy Colts, cleaned and reloaded before bed.  :D
  6. At one time there was a Linux distribution that claimed to mimic the C64.  Probably not software-compatible though.
  7. Boxers do turn into people! Congrats!
  8. You'd use a ball-puller if the rifle doesn't have a removable breech plug.
  9. You might want to ask for their permission before you start transmitting on their radio system. Otherwise you could be considered to be interfering with their licensed system. The Baofeng would probably do the job, but it's not field-programmable.

    Walther PPK

Newer .380 HP carry ammo gives good penetration plus expansion.  Some people carry hardball in their .380's to improve penetration.  The PPK is a pleasant gun to shoot in .380, as long as your hands aren't too big.  The slide is deep and it tends to take a chunk out of the web of your hand if you choke up it it.   I've got big mitts and guns that are big enough to not hurt me when I shoot them come in bigger and better calibers.
  11. Do you just want to listen, or do you want to transmit as well?
  12. Remember this is an election year.  Fight Organized Crime!  NEVER RE-ELECT ANYBODY!
  13.   Ah!  But that's illegal, you see.  Makes perfect sense in California.
  14. It could be a Martian weather rock!  Looks like it's clear, cold and dry today.  How's that for a serious discussion of a damned rock?  :D
  15. It's just a business decision by S&W, the same company that brought us internal locks on revolvers.   California is bent on self-destruction.  They made it impossible to legally sell new handguns in the state; S&W reacted as expected.
  16. I put that rock there!   Now that that's settled, who called off the rescue mission to Benghazi, and when did they do it?
  17.   Welcome to the light side of the Force!
  18. I oppose attempts to re-elect any of the snakes!
  19. I just installed Mint 16 on my recycled Tigerdirect desktop and it's sweet.  Seems to work better with my ancient hardware than Mint 14 did.
  20. And since he doesn't want a Block, I mean Glock, then he obviously wants a 1911.  It's what Jesus carries.  :stir:
  21. Yeah, nobody believes that NSA crap either.
  22. It ain't 'hate'.  It's an informed opinion based on LOTS of reported problems with Taurus quality, durability and lack of customer service.  However, if a Taurus is what peels yer banana, then go for it!  But the no whining rule goes into effect.  :D
  23.   You don't really believe that all firearm purchase records aren't stored forever, do you?  What's going to stop them - the law?  The world ain't perfect.
  24. Friends don't let friends buy Taurus.
