  1. Workbenches need to be sturdy and heavy for reloading.   If you're going to be installing and timing rifle barrels in your vise, you need to anchor it to a concrete pad.  You can lift a big Wilton vise and a heavy bench with a long cheater bar  -   voice of experience.

  3.   The hell you say!!!  What's a possum?
  4.   Preach it , brother!!
  5. Tired of this runaround?  Don't re-elect the bastards!
  6.   "That is why in January, the Senate and House passed legislation which includes specific language prohibiting any funding of the U.N. Arms Trade treaty unless it is ratified by the U.S. Senate."   You trust Congress?
  7. The audit defense from Intuit is worth the money.  If you run afoul of the IRS, they'll ride roughshod over you.  If your CPA makes a mistake on your taxes, the fault is yours and the IRS will bill YOU for back taxes and penalties, not the CPA.
  8. Surprisingly, my son-in-law's sister, who is a CPA and, of course, does taxes, uses Turbotax for her clients.
  9. Turbotax, for the last 20 or so years.
  10.   How about this - he had too much money, too much free time, and he hung out with the wrong people?   There's a whole lot of people here in the county on drugs, and they sure ain't artists.
  11.   No, I don't recall ever seeing him before.  Guess I need to get out more.
  12. Shoot, I didn't know he was alive.  Who was he?
  13. Looked like pine to me.  I have some hickory for him to try.
  14. Kramer horsehide pocket holster. Expensive but indestructible.
  15. I have Stanley plans for a heavy duty workbench - 4x4 legs, 1-1/2 inch thick top.  Assembles with carriage bolts and can be disassembled for transport.  I've built 3 and I brought one with me when I moved.  Let me know if you want the plans.   If you want to be able to disassemble the bench, don't use glue in the leg/stretcher joints.  Anything you glue together ain't coming apart later.
  16. I have pocket-carried a 638 for about 10 years.  It carries easy and it's a lot of power for the size and weight.  Much more pleasant to shoot than a typical pocket .380.  It's simple and reliable and there's nothing to snag during a draw from the pocket.  Yes it collects lint.  Yes, pocket carry in the summer makes the hammer and trigger rust.  Regular cleaning and oiling take care of those minor annoyances.   I'd recommend a 638 to anyone for concealed carry, unless you're going to carry on your belt - in that case, carry a bigger gun/caliber.   BTW, a horsehide holster marks up an aluminum frame something fierce.
  17. I hung a Winegard omnidirectional in my attic and I pick up Knoxville from 50 miles away. Your mileage may vary.
  18. The sad thing is, I put away a SIG to carry Smith revolvers.
  19. I carried an all-metal Smith semi-auto in Michigan for years, never had a freeze-up.  Didn't have a problem during a January, outdoors tactical shooting class in the snow, other than me getting hypothermia.
  20. The cold won't affect the springs.  -20 isn't cold for springs.  :D   I use Mobil 1 0W-50 on my guns.  It doesn't get gummy in cold weather - it gets as thin as water but still lubricates.
  21. Pico de Gallo - love the stuff.  It's addictive.  Don't buy it pre-made at Wal-mart.  That's the voice of experience there.
  22. Having a ham license won't make what you want to do legal.  Target is running a licensed business network (read 'closed') and you can't just pop up on their network and say "Hi".  If you want to talk on Target's system, ask them to issue you a radio.  If they do, all's good.  If they don't, they don't want you.   You can listen all you want, but you can't talk without their permission.  The FCC takes a dim view of interference with licensed services.
  23. 1 inch here in McMinn Cty.   The beer and hairspray supply is holding out, so far . . . .
  24. Get a ham license and this gap in your education will be filled! ;D
