Amateur radio.  Curiously, I'm not a big talker.  I'm more of an electronics geek - I like computers, radios, electronic technology of all sorts.

The purpose of the training is to teach you not to "hit someone upside the head a few times".  Batons can be deadly.

My current laptop (my wife's old one) is 8 years old and running Win 7.  The only hardware upgrade was to max out the RAM to 2 Gigs.  Performance is acceptable.

  Aha!  It was reliable before you 'fixed' it!  Mystery solved . . .  :D

    Was the old hammer spring defective?

I upgraded to 7 on two of my XP machines.  It's fine so far, for Winders.  Still like Linux better.

I did my own headliner on an 84 Ranger.  Pulled off all the old material, which was sagging and not too hard to remove, dry-scrubbed the remaining crumbled plastic foam off of the cardboard backer, and then used contact cement to glue a couple of yards of naugahyde to the cardboard.  After it dried, I trimmed to naugahyde to the contour of the cardboard and re-installed.  It looked like 2 million bucks (inflation, you know).  One thing to note though - naugahyde is heavy, and I tried other glues first, including spray glue.  No go!.  Also, contact cement shrinks naugahyde, which is one of the major reasons you trim to fit after the glue has set.

I haven't even heard a coyote in my area in several years.  Used to hear them and occasionally see one running across the road at dusk.  No roadkill either.  I think the fire ants got 'em.

If you believe the springs will fail due to compression and replace them regularly, you'll probably never have a spring failure.   If you believe that a high number of cycles makes springs fail, you won't replace your springs and you'll probably never have a spring failure.   It doesn't matter which side of the issue you believe, the result is the same.   Can we stop arguing about it?

A Combat Engineer I know breached doors in Iraq with explosives, not a shotgun.  A shotgun would have been safer for the occupants, but ineffective for the Marines.
