  1. I'm undecided about Joe Guy.  Don't know if he's a good guy or a bad guy - trouble is, he's definitely a politician.  I despise politicians.
  2. Meth, pills, the usual.  A 21 yr old was murdered on July 4th when he walked in on a burglary.
  3. I know a guy who wanted to buy a tractor (not me).  His wife resisted, but finally said "Fine, go ahead".   He did.   It wasn't permission, it was a dare.   She didn't speak to him for 3 weeks.   Depending on your point of view, you might say he won twice.
  4. I've had a stranger walk into my house, a really bad idea for several reasons.  I now keep all my doors locked all of the time.
  5. The ones that are all leather do that.  I have an older Galco with elastic straps that is much more comfortable.  Don't know if they're made any more.
  6. I like to mow, so rain is welcome. It'll be hot again.
  7. 1. All men are pigs. Get used to it.
  8. Ooooh - "smart guy"! :D
  9. I've seen a Sandhill Crane eat a chipmunk . . . .
  10. Can't be two people named Jones . . . .
  11. So next year we need to get rid of the words "otherwise provided by state law or".

    Forklift duo

That'll get you fired any place I've ever worked.
  13. Welcome from SE TN.  I have family in Keller and Killeen TX.
  14. I'd rather walk . . .
  15. Already did it - cashed a small 401k and bought a Ruger Scout rifle. It was at the top of my list.
  16. What the Army wants is a unicorn pistol.  They want a pistol that hits like a 40mm grenade, but is small and has no recoil, so that the females and officers can shoot it.   They'll spend several years, waste a lot of taxpayers' and manufacturers' money, and stay with the 9mm.  It might not be a Beretta, but it'll be 9mm.   What they NEED to do is to stop listening to whiners and issue an effective caliber/handgun combination.  Something like a 1911, or a SIG 220.
  17. Check Widener's.  I get ads from them all the time for Carl Gustav, Prvi, etc.
  18. I have a friend who also went to Tractor Supply for garden protection.  But he bought a small electric fence charger and put up an electrified strand about 6 inches off the ground.   He says it works fine.
  19.   That's where the law was passed.
  20.   That's what I was thinking.  So much for the thread hi-jack -- back to our regularly-scheduled programming. :hat:
  21. I've read that having a season on hogs was prompting some entrepreneurs into capturing and transporting wild hogs to and from game ranches in the state, thus helping the hogs to expand their range.  I guess the TWRA is trying to stop the transport.  It seems to me that there were some equally-good other ways to address the problem, without protecting them.
  22. The choppers circling near my house are shooting wild hogs, or so I've read.
  23. Canned corn today, beans tomorrow.  We use a pressure canner for both, and we canned the corn in pint jars and processed them 55 minutes.  Beans will be in quarts of course - I cook 2 quarts just for the two of us.  They get better and better the more times you reheat them.  I have a great recipe for cooking green beans if anyone's interested.
