  1. I recently pocket-carried (briefly) a full-size 1911. It wasn't comfortable, but it worked. It takes work jeans to pull that off. :)
  2. It's a waste of virtual wall. Think of the electrons, the poor ones and zeroes!
  3. Aaaarrrgh, it's drivin' me nuts! (fixed it for ya)
  4. This is one of the reasons I continue to shoot revolvers.
  5. That's my point - you don't have to have a shaving edge to slice a ripe tomato or to carve a turkey. Keep the edge burr straight and a kitchen knife will cut just fine.
  6. I've never seen the need to keep kitchen knives that sharp, but to each his own.
  7. 'Most popular' based on 2015 sales -- really? I know someone who's still carrying a gun he bought 17 years ago. Bet he ain't alone. That's just advertising.
  8. I unloaded all of my guns, wrapped the long guns in bubble wrap, and packed them as far from the passenger compartment as I could.
  9. Did you try contacting a fencing contractor?
  10. Wade on in, the water ain't deep!
  11. I didn't bother hornets until one of them stung me in the face. Ruined my manly good looks for a week!
  12. I shot one earlier this year while bee hunting. I leave wasps alone, but don't tolerate hornets.
  13. Well, it says "Made in Germany", in French, if that's any help. ;D
  14. I plan to go, just to see the place.
  15. My Jack Russell ate a used condom he found during a walk in the park.
  16. There apparently is a rodent poison that dehydrates the corpse, eliminating the decomp smell.  My critter guy spread some in my crawlspace last year.
  17. I bought a bunch of .22's over the years at 3 cents a round or less, and the price still went up.  :D
  18.   With a 12 gauge and #1 buck, I can send 32 .30 caliber balls down range with 2 trigger pulls.  Peace thru superior firepower!   You don't want to use that "armor-piercing" green tip ammo in yer AR - 55 grain soft points are best for home defense.  It's amazing how wallboard stops the 55 grain soft points, yet they'll sail right thru a padlock.
  19. My stock 10-22 fires every time and has never jammed.  It also hits what I point it at.  How can you improve on that?   I never understood people's urge to modify things, whether its a truck, a gun  or a dishwasher.  The overall plan seems to be "fiddle with it until it's broke, then unload it on a friend and buy another to fiddle with".  :D
  20.   I don't know that I'd agree with this, unless you're comparing learning to shoot a rifle to learning to wing shoot with a shotgun.  Shotguns are simple weapons compared to an AR, and point shooting at stationary targets is easier to learn than sight alignment and breath control.
  21. Sweet! I find Mint to be a lot less frustrating than Windows.
  22. Or a body.
  23. It takes a little more effort and equipment for a 1200 lb Liberty.  :D
  24. I've logged in from Texas, Mississippi, Louisiana, Kentucky, South Carolina, W. Virginia, Pennsylvania, Michigan and Ontario. But I can quit any time I want to . . .
