  1. Most if not all CT grips have an on/off switch. I have the grips on my J-frame and wonder why I waited so long to get them (I know - the price). Those primitive iron sights on pocket pistols are hard enough to see when you're young, but darned near impossible when you're bifocal-aged.
  2. The same tour at the Stroh's brewery in Detroit used to be FREE!!! They also gave you the choice of taking the tour or just soaking up suds in the Tap Room. Of course, the brewery is closed now. It's not my fault, honest.
  3. Why don't you drive over to Lowe's and look at the water heaters? They're in aisle 12. There's a free brochure available that compares features of the water heaters they stock. They also carry elements and thermostats.
  4. My carry knife is a Kershaw Whirlwind. I found a Gerber Blackie Collins dive knife that my wife carries clipped to the visor in her car -- it's gorgeous in a vicious sort of way.
  5. Kramer is one of the few who will make a 239 holster for you. www.kramerleather.com
  6. Ditto - I've had enough duds in ammo I've reloaded to make me seriously doubt the quality of some of the reloading components (i.e. primers) available to reloaders. I'll stick with the expensive stuff for carry.
  7. The search function is our friend: http://www.tngunowners.com/forums/showthread.php?t=12638
  8. Because you said you wanted to carry it as a backup or primary carry piece. You should get rid of it until the urge to carry it passes. The caliber is inadequate for self-defense and there are so many better choices out there. You can get a .380 in the same size pistol and a .380 is barely adequate for SD.
  9. Get rid of it now. Just my humble opinion . . .
  10. They're the same IF the AR is chambered for .223 instead of 5.56 NATO. There are minor differences between .223 and 5.56.
  11. The cost is comparable to tank water heaters. If you don't use hot water often, they should save you energy costs. I've read that they will last up to twice as long as a tank heater. Lowe's sells two electric versions, the smaller of which would be big enough for a small family. The smaller one requires 200 Amp service and takes two dedicated 40 amp 220V circuits. The bigger one requires three 40A circuits. They sense flow thru the hot water lines and turn on the heat when flow is detected. I don't have any personal experience with them. I understand there are gas versions available, but I don't know anything about them.
  12. I agree with you, and the IRS is going to pound you into the ground. edited to add: and the sheeple won't notice or care.
  13. I visited the website and saw that the event is organized by MCRGO. I'd advise anyone dealing with MCRGO to watch their backs.
  14. Writing things on forms doesn't work. There aren't any magic words that will make a judge rule against the IRS. The judge is subject to audit too, remember? If you want to fight the IRS, don't do it in court, especially Tax Court. You're walking into a buzz saw. Fight it in Washington with your elected representatives.
  15. I let both Corker and Alexander know that they had lost my vote after they voted for the first "bailout". In November I skipped over Alexander and voted for the first non-Democrat on the ballot. They're both thieves at best, IMHO.
  16. ONLY if you make the lawyer independently wealthy. Barring that much money on the table, no lawyer will represent you except to plead guilty. A lawyer won't present an argument that the government is violating the Constitution on fear of being disbarred or audited yearly for life. When it comes to court, you can argue your case yourself or beg for mercy. It really makes no difference which - you get the same result.
  17. I'm interested in who the 'principals' are behind the organization -- to see if I recognize any names.
  18. Watching and waiting . . .
  19. We don't GIVE them the money - the b@stards take it!
  20. I have a timed program that backs up my user files and settings in the background to a second drive. It does an incremental backup daily and a full backup once a week, all to unique files. It autopurges backup files in what it calls a logarithmic pattern - it keeps progressively fewer files the older they get. Important stuff like pictures and tax data also get archived (manually) to duplicated CD's which go in the safe. Linux is so handy!
  21. Who is this We The People group? Do they have a website? Edit - found the website. Who are the bigwigs in the group and where are they based?
  22. Good luck with that. Lemme know how it works out for you. You can't win. The deck is stacked against you. The IRS tramples on the rights of citizens every day, and neither Congress nor the courts will do anything to stop them. Do you have to lose everything and possibly go to jail to learn that?
  23. You won't be able to clean the grips with any kind of solvent. The metal parts may be a different story. I'd try acetone on a rag (wear rubber gloves!) and scrub gently. Regardless of whether the paint comes off, all oil on the surface will, so re-oil it before storage. See this link http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index?qid=20080328115324AAXazV8 where acetone and a razor blade worked on a rifle.
  24. Plastic frame?
