  1. Did you look at the Serengeti Safari shirts from Cabela's? They come in both short and long sleeve and are a high-quality durable shirt. I have several.
  2. I wouldn't want to be their unpaid security guard -- too much to lose and nothing to gain. If they want a gun on campus they should hire one.

    Henry Rifles

From what I've heard and read, the Henrys are great rifles and a great value.
  4. Well, maybe so.

    YEA ME

Maybe that was my problem. I never carried while bowling and never could bowl worth a hoot. I even tried wearing women's lingerie and breathing through my eyelids like a Lava Lizard . . . (the rosebud goes in front, big fella)
  6. What's the point behind the full-length resizing? If the brass was shot in his rifle, and he's reloading for his rifle, wouldn't neck-sizing alone be enough and prolong the life of the brass? First time reloaded with someone else's brass - yes, full-length resizing is required. But thereafter, neck-sizing only.
  7. There are a LOT more hams than you would think from listening to radio or going to club meetings. Most of them are inactive. But, then, most gun owners are inactive.
  8. I did one in 1973. Hopefully my last. Never lower the hammer on a live round with a Colt SAA. I guess you shouldn't do that with a 1911 either, but I've never tried it. Guess I learned my lesson. No blood involved, but not due to my efforts - thank ya, Lord! How about, "Never lower the hammer (manually or via a decocker) on a chambered round unless the muzzle is pointed in a SAFE direction"? I have my own set of corollaries to the 4 rules.
  9. I have a couple of Garmins but haven't found the time and weather to do much yet. Maybe this winter . . . .
  10. I saw two of the 333 packs at Wal-Mart in Cleveland. Unfortunately, I bought 'em.
  11. Never heard of her.
  12. Lucky you! When I broke a lever, it was the clutch. Had to move the brake lever over and hook it up upside down to get home, rear brakes only.
  13. Try Safety Harness for fall protection harnesses. You'll need a tether also. A belt will just get you killed if you fall. Hanging upside down for hours is not pleasant to say the least.
  14. I've had small pistol primers on backorder at Cabela's since July.
  15. Stored gasoline, oil-based paint and solvents are more dangerous than smokeless powder -- they just don't get the press. I don't have any reloading supplies.
  16. There is no gold at the end of the rainbow. There are no low-risk, high-yield, liquid investments.
  17. Call Lowes and get a quote on installation. I believe it's around $200 including delivery and haulaway as long as you're replacing electric with electric (or gas with gas). I've done the job and it's not too difficult. If you stay with the same size heater, the electrical and water connections are not difficult. You can get flexible water connections if you don't already have them. Make sure you transport the new heater standing upright - they don't like to be transported lying down - tends to break the water fill tube inside the tank. Don't be concerned about brand differences between water heaters - they're all made by the same company.
  18. There are only 2 saws made - Stihl and Husqvarna. Buy one from a servicing dealer, not from a big-box store. The dealer will help you pick out one that suits your needs.
  19. Dish Network uses the phone line for software and/or programming updates, rather than downloading them from the bird. They threaten to charge you extra per month if you don't have a phone line attached. Basic land-line service is still much cheaper per month than a cell plan. I was paying about $200/month for our 2 cell phones before I converted mine to a pre-paid plan. Heck, I accumulated 30 minutes of calls (in and out) in 2 years of usage so I sure wasn't getting MY money's worth. However, it's my wife's favorite toy . . . I also like to have a land-line phone (not wireless) around in case of power failures. I've been thru a couple of week-long, large-area power outages and cell phones are not useful in those circumstances.
  20. Not any slower for me. I'll bet you're running Winders, right? If so it might be spyware, etc slowing you down.
  21. If I'm not mistaken, you won't see any new gun laws until next year.

    Colt Peacemaker .22

I've seen asking prices from about $500 to $800. The $800 figure was for a 4-5/8" barrel, 2nd .22 mag cylinder, possibly with box. The seller claimed that the 4-5/8" barrel was rare.
  23. AT&T is turning into Ma Bell again - whodathunkit? They promised me DSL by the end of 2007 and then by the end of 2008. Now they don't promise it at all. Don't have cable available either. I have a fiber optic cable running thru the corner of my yard, yet I'm on dialup. I've cancelled all of my service with AT&T except for bare-bones service (sat tv needs a phone line). I don't even have caller id or long-distance service anymore. Screw 'em!
  24. Corker is a Fascist jerk. Vote him out. Then vote out his successor after 1 term, and so on.
  25. It's not that he doesn't know anything, it's that he knows so many things that just aren't so.
