  1. It was already FRIGGIN COLD. Good guessing on their part. I never could understand why radio stations would have traffic and weather on every few minutes in the mornings while I was driving to work. I was IN the traffic and the weather was just the other side of the windshield. I didn't need the radio to tell me about them.
  2. I keep trying to provoke a response but I get no bites. Do I need to change my lure or the presentation? How about adding a scent? You can't see the braided line, can you?
  3. When I was the Properties elder at my church in Michigan I both hired and fired those guys. I fired one after he didn't show at the church on a Saturday night when we got about 8-9 inches. My son and I plowed the parking lot with shovels and a 8 HP snowblower during the Sunday service. I was NOT amused. Those guys did lawn maintenance during the summer and snow removal in the winter. It was rough on the trucks. I've seen them with broken frames from the snow plowing.
  4. I just saw a dump truck go up SR307 with the bed tilted, obviously dropping salt. It had a plow on the front - never saw a snowplow in Tennessee before. Didn't know we had 'em. Some of the big stores in the Detroit area lease BIG front-end loaders for the winter to move the parking lot snow into snow mountains. The mountains hang around until May, sort of like glacier calves.
  5. Nope, he'd have to be a benefactor. Hint: go on Long Guns and ask for opinions on what milk and bread are selling for now. That's the common work-around.
  6. There is just enough snow here to stick to the county roads, the ones that weren't brined (all of them). I just followed a bed-wetter at 20 MPH for 5 miles before my turnoff. I'm here for the duration, or until 5 PM Saturday when I have to go to work again. Unless I run out of gin . . . .
  7. What we saw was the Great Wheel of Karma completing a turn. I enjoyed every second of that video!
  8. Man, this goes on forever. PeaceXX - you'll have to leave now, or these idjits won't ever stop.
  9. I'd say there's about a 60% chance there won't be an election - Der Fuehrer has something up his sleeve!
  10. Hey - Arabs are the same race as me, so if someone is making racist comments about them, they're talking about me and I'm offended. I demand my RATS! Arabs are an ethnic group, not a race. When better nits are picked, the nitpicker will pick 'em. PS - I've never been to Memphis but I'm pretty sure I wouldn't like it. I probably wouldn't like Camelot. I don't like cities in general. That's not a prejudice - I lived in the Detroit suburbs for 33 years.
  11. Obama doesn't plan to hold an election in November.
  12. The Kramer IWB #3 is a dandy holster, but they're getting a bit pricey. I have them in both horsehide and cowhide. The horsehide is far superior, IMHO.
  13. Nah, Chris Dodd is going to be Prime Minister after Obama declares himself King later this year. Who needs a Senate?

    Pocket Holsters

I am truly happy (more like tickled) with my Kramer horsehide pocket holster. I've been using it for about 5 years now, and it shows no signs of wearing out.
  15. It must be fun finding a holster for it.
  16. Neat! They are HUGE animals - saw them at the Grand Canyon. Good eating, too!
  17. I think this thread's about run its course, probably several times. Neither side has convinced anyone on the other side to change their minds. I'm going to close it, and let's all agree not to start a similar thread for at least a year, OK? We'll just refer people to this thread or a thread on another forum. Good grief!!
  18. Dropped Ubuntu after about 3 years of use - got tired of my system being broken every 6 months when the new versions were released, and having to do a clean install instead of a version upgrade every time. The latest version with KDE4 brought my old box to it's knees. I downloaded and tried out a Debian live CD and, like magic, everything worked right again. So now I'm running Debian Lenny on my desktop, but still have Kubuntu 9.10 on the laptop. Haven't decided yet whether to change the laptop. Debian has the reputation of being the most stable distribution of Linux, and also of being the slowest to change. Both sounded good to me.

    Ruger Single six

Sounds reasonable if it's in really good shape. I bought a used stainless Single-Six convertible for about $350.
  20. I'll pass -- I'm not worthy of a Mexican-designed and manufactured rifle.
  21. I've made that trip many times and AFAIK there aren't (any longer) any weird requirements. Ohio used to require that you open carry in cars, but that was changed. In Michigan you have to inform the officer when stopped, and any handgun in a vehicle is considered concealed.
  22. Well, nobody's perfect.
  23. I forget range and aim for the head. If I hit 'em in the foot it's still good.
